The 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season begins today, with 10 high-stakes fixtures across two groups as 20 elite clubs kick-start  their quest for supremacy in Nigeria’s topflight women’s football.

In Group A, Titleholders Bayelsa Queens welcome 2023/24 champions Edo Queens to the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, in a South-South showdown that has quickly become one of the league’s premier fixtures. Bayelsa Queens hold four wins from their last seven meetings, though Edo’s crucial 1–0 victory at the 2025 Super Six ended the champions’ perfect run.
