Moses Ocheje has agreed a move to Abia Warriors from Enyimba, the experienced goalkeeper has exclusively told Goal.

“I am so happy to join Abia Warriors. It’s like a dream come true. Football is all about happiness and challenge. Moreover my contract with Enyimba expired at the end of last season and I decided not to renew it,” Ocheje told Goal.

“I am really proud to be linked with those two clubs but a decision was already made and I hope to make a positive impact for Abia Warriors. When you go to a new place, expectation is usually high. I need to work with the team and show my true potentials. “

Ocheje decided to play for Abia Warriors in the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season despite interests from other clubs in the division.

The former Sunshine Stars shot stopper said Enyimba have insisted he is not for sale.

    Tornadoes sign Ocheje, Ebenezer

Niger Tornadoes have beefed up its squad with the signing of Enyimba FC duo of Moses Ocheje and Ebenezer Odeyemi.

The pair is part of the players the newly promoted side has penciled down for signature ahead of next season.

SportingLife reports that the Minna-based outfit is ready to retain 19 players out of those that helped the team gain promotion last season.

It was gathered that the management have begun negotiations with some players who they think will help their cause next season.

Ocheje, is believed, will solve the goalkeeping crisis at Tornadoes while Ebenezer will add bite to the team’s attacking force when the league resumes next year.

“There is no doubt that the two players would be a good addition to our team. We have the ambition to do well in the league and that is why we are making frank efforts to build a squad that can meet up the league’s standard. We are still negotiating with other players too but it won’t be a massive clear-out,” a top club official told SportingLife.

Players and officials of the team are expected to resume training on January 3rd for three weeks intensive training session before the league kicks off.

Sunshine’s Ocheje out for two weeks

Sunshine Stars will be without their first-choice goalkeeper, Moses Ocheje, for the next two weeks due to an injury.

Ocheje suffered a bruised shin in his club’s 0-2 loss at Gombe United on August 4.

After visits to a hospital in Akure, base of Sunshine Stars, the former Lobi Stars custodian has been told he cannot play competitive football for the next 14 days.

“I sustained the injury in our last game against Gombe United which we unfortunately lost. I injured my shin and after visiting the doctor, he said I need to rest my leg for two weeks to allow the injury heal,” Ocheje told supersport.com as he ruled himself out for two weeks.

Ocheje will miss Sunshine Stars’ home game against Dolphins in the league this Sunday.

But he is confident his teammates will get the job done just as they secured a point in the reverse fixture in Port Harcourt in March this year.

“I’ll miss Sunday’s match because of the injury but my teammates will do a good job, I’m very confident of that. We were able to play them to a 1-1 draw when we first met this season. So I believe we will win this even without me in goal,” said Ocheje confidently.

Henry Ayodele could be named in place of Ocheje for Sunday’s clash with Dolphins.
