His popular column “Inside Aso Rock,” alongside “Life in Abuja,” became staple reads for political enthusiasts during his tenure at The Punch.

Known for his unflinching commentary and piercing style, Odunuga later moved to The Nation, where his satirical column “Knucklehead” earned a dedicated following and extended his legacy of interrogating Nigeria’s complex political landscape.

In 2019, he was appointed Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Deputy President of the Ninth Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, a role he served with distinction until 2023.

Following the end of that tenure, he returned to The Nation as Deputy Editor, where he led high-profile interviews and continued to shape national discourse with incisive commentary.

Born on June 2, 1966, Odunuga has consistently combined literary flair with political analysis, earning him a reputation as one of Nigeria’s foremost media voices.

His appointment by Senator Akume signals a strategic move to bolster public communication and media relations from the SGF’s office, especially at a time when national policy direction and coordination are critical under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
