    Ogun FRSC inaugurates admin building

    The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) in Ogun has inaugurated new administrative block at the RS2.25 Sagamu Interchange unit command in Sagamu Ogun State.

    The building was built by Chief Ifeanyi Imuseh, the Managing Director of VPEG Energy and Gas Limited as one of her Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for effective service delivery and staff welfarism for the FRSC personnel of Sagamu Unit Command on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and to safeguard the lives of residents and road users. The building was named after the FRSC Corp Marshall, Shehu Mohammed.

    Speaking during the inauguration, the Unit Commander Assistant Corps Commander, Olufemi Ige commended Chief Imuseh for the block which comprises of three room offices , five toilets, a kitchen and mini conference hall stressing that it would go a long way in the history of FRSC in the state.

    “The three room offices will provide ample space for our administrative functions, ensuring smoother operations and improved efficiency in our work. This building has come to be from designing to the commissioning. Indeed, this is a morale booster not just the management of this unit command but entire staff, this has really boosted their morale.

    ” It will go a long way in enhancing them to discharge their duties,” he said.

    Also speaking, Imuseh told the gathering how the project started. He said:  “We discussed even security of the area, and that gave birth to see how we can work with civil defense around that can assist us with the police. So that is how this project started. When we started, our aim is to just do small office but he kept saying we don’t have conference room here, we don’t have restaurants. I told him we have a project we just started.

     “That is how we started, and I cannot keep commending him, because during the period of the project, my directive is for them to move our fence first and the civil defense before this. And I’m telling you this one is the first we roof, because he keep loving my boys even the workers. He will give them food, he will give them this, and they give him the best. So I really thank you Shehu Mohammed for giving us Commander Ige.

    “So we decide to put in this place, and also as a company we are we are pledging a more robust relationship with the agency to further moving into this hospital, to see how we can upgrade it, where you can serve other agencies and community, he will permit us and so they can serve the community and the other agencies.”

    Responding to what Imuseh said, Mohammed noted that the project meant a lot to the FRSC, noting that the block will provide an enabling environment for the personnel to discharge their duties effectively.

    52 died in 87 crashes within two months – Ogun FRSC

    The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says 52 people died in 87 road crashes between May and June in the state.

    FRSC Sector Commander, Mr Anthony Uga, gave the figure on Monday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun.

    Uga said other 264 persons also sustained various degrees of injuries from the same crashes.

    The sector commander blamed most of the accidents on speeding, dangerous and reckless driving and travelling at night among others.

    “The FRSC wants to appeal to motorists to drive with caution and reduce their speed to avoid unnecessary loss of life.

    “In addition, they should ensure that their wipers, brakes and other parts of their vehicles are functional to prevent road crashes, especially during this rainy season,” he said.

    Uga also warned against one-way driving and wrongful overtaking, particularly at bends.

    He said FRSC would also sustain its public enlightenment campaigns to educate the motoring public on the dangers of flouting traffic rules and regulations.
