Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA), has hailed the Ologere of Ogere, Oba Obafemi Saliu, and the Onipara of Ipara, Oba Taiwo Taiwo, for supporting the existence and operation of the agency in the Remo North Local Government Area of the state.
OGPDPA’s acting General Manager, Itunu Jolaoluwa, disclosed this during a visit to the palaces of the two monarchs to thank them for donating a parcel of land and buildings for office and residential use to the OGPDPA staff.
Jolaoluwa, in a statement, said the monarchs’ support would go a long way in re-establishing and boosting the agency’s operational capacity in their domains, facilitate better regulation of development, curb incidents of flooding, building collapse, and ensure a physically planned environment, among others, in the area.
Speaking, Oba Saliu explained that his decision to offer land to the agency was part of a broader vision to transform Ogere into a source of pride for indigenes worldwide.

“My major aim is to transform Ogere into a better place. I want indigenes in the diaspora to come home, and for them to come home, they must see something different and better to attract them,” he stated.
Also, the Onipara of Ipara, Oba Taiwo, expressed optimism that the Authority’s presence in his domain, facilitated by his provision of office and residential buildings, would significantly enhance the physical development and overall well-being of his community.
The visits witnessed the presentation of awards of excellence to both traditional rulers, an acknowledgement made in the presence of their chiefs-in-council.
