In his reaction, comedian and actor, Okechukwu McAnthony Onyegbule, popularly called Okey Bakassi, wrote that “Dear friends, I don’t want to waste my time in any long argument about the gay marriage ban. Every adult has the right to choose where to plug his “charger”. It’s only an abnormal person that will plug “charger” to “charger” and expect to get a good result.”

In her view, actress Adaora Ukoh said, “Dear female friends (because I can no longer address you as girl friends), due to the new law banning same sex relationships, I shall no longer address you as ‘Boo, Sweetie, Babes and Hun etc. These names may be misconstrued by some over-zealous law enforcement people.

“Henceforth, I shall address you by your names, Maureen, Chioma, Nina, Ugochi, Faith, Asabe and Titi, etc. I shall no longer hug, blow kisses or hold hands with you, please. Only handshakes and eye brow wiggles are allowed. I shall cease sending you ‘smileys’ like hugs, hearts and kisses.

“Please, do not send them to me either or I shall delete you from my list to guarantee my continued freedom .

“Dancing together at parties is now forbidden. If we see in public places, don’t wave excitedly at me. A Queen Elizabeth sad wave will do. Anything Beyond this, I’ll ignore you.

“If you must visit me, please, bring your mattress and room divider. No more lifts. Please, endure the sun or buy your own car. You understand, don’t you? Or have your bath elsewhere. Girls’ night-out and PJ sleepovers are totally banned. Please, stay in your house, so we can have our liberty.

“I wouldn’t want to end up at the Women’s section in Kirikiri. It’s dangerous for us to share bathrooms now. Please, wait until I am through.

“14 years in prison is a Looooooooong time and I am not Madiba (long live hz soul).”
