    Okotete rallies support for Tinubu, Oborevwori

    Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Woman Leader, Stella Okotete, has convened meetings in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government of Delta State to drum up support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

    Okotete, executive director of Business Development at Nexim Bank and a grassroots mobiliser, noted that the meetings is to foster unity.

    She met with APC leaders and stakeholders from wards one and two in Agbarho, welcoming those who joined the party with the governor. A follow-up meeting was held at her residence in Ekrerhavwen.

    The events followed defection of Oborevwori from Peoples Democratic Party to APC.

    The unity meetings brought together members from former PDP bloc and APC structures, where Okotete stressed the need to move beyond disputes and work together.

    She called for mutual respect and forgiveness among members as participants expressed readiness to cooperate under a unified APC structure.

    Okotete thanked long-standing members for their support and urged patience, noting integration efforts were on.

    A motion supporting President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori was introduced by Okotete and passed by a voice vote.

    Amid cultural displays, Okotete offered financial support to some party supporters credited with aiding APC’s local electoral success.

    She also visited the Osuivie of Agbarho, who noted her role in palace renovations and in formalising his traditional authority.

    Community members and market women also met with Okotete during a visit to Agbarho Market.

    Later, Okotete joined APC leaders, including Senator Ede Dafinone and Francis Ejiroghene Waive, at a strategy session at the home of Olorogun John Oguma.

    Discussions focused on party coordination across Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu constituencies ahead of future elections.

    The meetings concluded with commitments to internal collaboration and increased political engagement across Delta.

    Okotete urges opposition to back Tinubu, restates loyalty to APC

    Former national women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Stella Erhuvwuoghene Okotete, has urged the opposition to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    She reaffirmed her steadfast loyalty and unwavering commitment to the President and the APC, expressing resolute solidarity as the nation looks ahead to 2027.

    As the political landscape begins to stir in anticipation of the next electoral cycle, Okotete said she remains optimistic and unshaken in her belief that President Tinubu is well-positioned to secure a second term in office. 

    She confidently asserted that a victory for the president in 2027 is not just likely but inevitable, given his commendable performance thus far.

    According to her, President Tinubu’s administration has delivered significantly on people-oriented governance and infrastructural development, placing him leagues ahead of any potential contender. 

    His transformative leadership, she stressed, has touched all corners of the nation, reinforcing the public’s confidence in his capability to continue steering Nigeria toward greater progress.

    Okotete, currently serving as the Executive Director of Nexim Bank, highlighted her longstanding relationship with the president, which dates back to 2016.

    She proudly acknowledged President Tinubu as her mentor, under whose guidance she has flourished both politically and professionally.

    She called on members of opposition parties to set aside partisan interests and unite behind the president in the spirit of national development.

    According to her, supporting the actualisation of the administration’s campaign promises is a collective responsibility, and with continued prayers and national backing, the best from President Tinubu is yet to come.

    “This is where I belong… 4+4,” she declared, signaling not only her personal allegiance but also a rallying cry for continued unity and progress under the leadership of President Tinubu.

    Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, Elder Omeni Sobotie, Delta APC Chairman Francis Waive, Hon. Stella Okotete and other critical stakeholders of the party were among the leaders of the party that received Olorogun Great Ovedje Ogboru back to the APC in Delta State.

    Speaking at the ceremony held at the Ughelli Kingdom Hall on Sunday, March 9, 2025, Olorogun Keyamo described Ogboru as a real grassroots mobiliser with huge followers, noting that his return to the party is a significant step towards strengthening the party in the state.

    “Chief Great Ogboru is a mobilizer and the people general. When the People Democratic Party PDP was very strong in Delta State, Chief Great Ogboru was able to win 12 Local Government Areas and 9 House of Assemblies seats. That tells you who he is and the experience he has in politics,” he said.

    Keyamo, who was so excited, noted that the College of leaders of the party in the state are working seriously to reconcile all members, adding that no one person is a sole leader, but all of them are leaders in various capacities and areas.

    “If you say the college of leaders is unconstitutional, or not in the party constitution, then where is it written that there should be a sole leader in the party,” Kayamo asked?

    Continuing, Keyamo reassured the party faithful of the preparedness of President Tinubu to stand by the party in the state and to support the party.

    “Two weeks ago, members of the College of leaders of the party met with the President at the Villa in Abuja, and he expressed his overwhelming support, especially on the reconciliation move been done by us, and he assured us of his support to the state APC.”

    He called on party faithful to go out and sensitise those who are yet to understand that only one man cannot be the sole leader of a party in the state so that they could come out of their slavery.

    “We will not succumb to the tricks of a betrayal again, and with the return of Chief Great Ogboru, the ranks of the opposition in the state are swelling.”

    The event, which attracted thousands of APC faithful and lovers of Chief Great Ogboru, also featured different goodwill messages from top APC members in the state.

    In his goodwill message, Senator Ede Dafinone representing Delta Central Senatorial District and represented by Chief Abel Idigu said: ” I am delighted to welcome Chief Great Ogboru and his teeming supporters back to the APC as he has long been a voice of the opposition in the state, and called on party faithful to accord him all his respects.

    On her part, Executive Director of Nexim Bank and former National Women Leader of the APC, Hon. Stella Okotete, expressed her joy and happiness in welcoming back a man he described as a trailblazer.

    “Our father and brother did not leave the party but only walked out of it as a result of the betrayal by one man who worked against the party in 2019. We are happy that he is back, and this has made the APC stronger in the state.”

    While thanking all party faithful, Ogboru who was accompanied by his wife and other supporters, appreciated the leadership prowess of the Minister and Okotete for ensuring that all aggrieved members of the party are reconciled.

    He thanked the state party chairman, Chief Omeni Sobotie for his dogged efforts in ensuring that the APC in Delta State is stronger.

    Ogboru, who was excited, assured the party faithful of the preparedness of the party to take over the state from the grip of the PDP.

    Also in attendance were Prince Frank Uge, Chief James Agboranyen, Sir Richard Odibo, Alex Ideh, Prince Charles Abutu who represented former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Delta Central Chairman of the APC. Others include Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda, Ossai Abe Ossai, Hon. Dr. Chris Oghenechovwen and other party leaders.
