    Oladele visits Alaafin, receives two Oyo leadership awards

    The Baàmèkó of Ibadanland and Oyo APC guber aspirant, Oloye Saheed Oladele, paid a private visit to the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade in his palace recently.

    Oloye Oladele visited the Alaafin to seek his blessings over his guber ambition. As a foremost king in Yorubaland, Oloye Oladele deemed it apt to inform the Iku Baba Yeye of his governorship aspiration and to seek his blessings as a royal father.

    In his welcome speech, Alaafin Owoade thanked Baàmèkó for the visit and he welcomed him and his entourage to his palace. 

    Alaafin Owoade encouraged Oloye Oladele to continue making efforts towards realising his governorship ambition. 

    Kabiyesi further narrated how he emerged as Alaafin and he concluded that it was because God wanted him on the throne.

    While thanking the Alaafin for the audience and hospitality extended to him and his entourage, Baàmèkó Oladele lauded the monarch for his staunch commitment to youth development, and he assured Oba Owoade that he would always seek his fatherly and wise counsel in his gubernatorial journey.

    Meanwhile, Oloye Saheed Oladele was honoured with two important awards during his visit to Oyo. He was conferred with the Registry Transformational Leadership Award by the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, in recognition of his contribution to education and leadership development. 

    Also, the Itesiwaju Oyo Professional Forum gave its Distinguished Leadership Award to Oloye Oladele to appreciate his great contributions and other excellent achievements in Oyo State. The awards were presented to him at the Alaafin’s Palace. 

    The two awards came barely two weeks after Baàmèkó Oladele received the Nidoe France Global Cultural Bridge award and the Nigeria Change Makers award. 

    In his reactions, Baàmèkó thanked the organisations for the massive love they expressed to him through the awards. He stated further that the awards meant a lot to him as he reiterated his commitment towards providing more selfless service to the people of Oyo State.

    Saheed Oladele hosts 33 Oyo APC LG chairmen, pushes for party unity

    In a major move to restore cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, governorship aspirant, Oloye Saheed Oladele, on Saturday hosted all 33 local government chairmen of the party in Bodija, Ibadan.

    The unprecedented gathering, attended by chairmen from areas including Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Oorelope, and Olorunsogo, marked the first time all APC chairmen across the state met in full. 

    Ibadan North APC chairman, Alhaji Taofeek Olayiwola, described the turnout as a sign that Oladele’s ambition has divine backing.

    Addressing the party leaders, Oladele, who is the Baameko of Ibadanland, stressed the need to mend internal divisions, citing the party’s loss in the recent Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election as a result of disunity. 

    He noted that the APC has the capacity to defeat the PDP in future elections but must first heal internal cracks.

    Oladele revealed that despite his large support base, he deliberately avoided setting up a personal political structure, saying, “Party unity is more important than any aspirant’s ambition. No political aspiration can succeed without a united front.” 

    He urged the APC to field a young, neutral, and widely acceptable candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

    Speaking on behalf of the chairmen, Architect J.O. Omoniyi of Ibadan Southwest LGA affirmed their commitment to strengthening the party, stressing that the APC must not enter the 2027 polls divided. 

    The chairmen commended Oladele’s unifying efforts and offered prayers for his success in the coming race.

    Oyo APC guber aspirant Oladele pays condolence visit to Dantata family

    The Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland and a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Oloye Saheed Oladele, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late billionaire businessman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, in Kano State.

    Alhaji Aminu Dantata died on June 28, 2025, at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the age of 94, while Oloye Oladele was away in the US for political consultations with Oyo State indigenes in various parts of America. 

    Alhaji Aminu Dantata was buried in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. 

    Oloye Oladele was received by the first son of the late billionaire businessman, Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata, in the presence of his sibling, Sodiq Dantata, and the Secretary to Alhaji Dantata.

    While responding to Oloye Oladele over the condolence visit, Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata stated that the family would continue the legacy left behind by their father.

    He appreciated Oloye Oladele for the visit, and expressed that they would continue to support Baàmẹ̀kọ́’s governorship aspiration.

    In an interview with press, Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland expressed his sadness over the death of the great philanthropist. 

    Oloye Oladele said, “Alhaji Dantata’s death is a colossal loss to us but we take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life, having touched many lives positively all over the world”.

    He prayed to Allah to accept the return of one of the greatest philanthropists out of Africa.

    Oyo APC guber aspirant Oladele bags CSNPRJ’s excellence in community leadership award

    The Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland and Chairman/CEO, Erudite Group of Schools, Oloye Saheed Oladele has won Excellence in Community Leadership and Development Award from Civil Society Network for Peace and Restorative Justice (CSNPRJ) during a 1-day colloquium on out-of-school children organised by the civil society in collaboration with Peace for Africa Chaplains Fellowship and Welfare Organisation.

    The president of the society and commissioner general of chaplains, Bishop Professor Adegbolagun Ademola George stated that the award is a fitting recognition of Oloye Oladele’s contributions to community leadership and development.

    Bishop Professor Adegbolagun George, who wrote a book on tackling the menace of out-of-school children launched at the Colloquium, commended Oloye Saheed Oladele’s love for education and generous support for out-of-school children as he asserted that Baàmẹ̀kọ́’s leadership exemplified remarkable passion and virtues in promoting development, especially for vulnerable populations.

    The reviewer of the book, Dr Victor Olu Taiwo, the Secretary-General of Council of Yoruba Elders (CYE), hailed Oloye Oladele for his passion for education and community development. He said that he has heard and read so much about Oloye Oladele, and he posited that the least Baameko deserves is to be appointed as Minister of Education. The reviewer prayed that God should bless Nigeria with more people like Baameko.

    In his response, Oloye Saheed Oladele thanked the organisers of the Colloquium as he affirmed that he is passionate about anything education, especially as it concerns out-of-school children. He disclosed that he slept in Abuja and had to rush to the program the second day to show the importance he attached to education. 

    The guest speaker at the Colloquium was Prof. Rasheed Aderinoye, former Executive Secretary, National Commission for Nomadic Education. The event was graced by dignitaries which included His Grace Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu JP, Emeritus Archbishop of Methodist Church; the Chairman of the Colloquium, Prince Bamidele Ademoroti who represented the Aringbajo of Igbajo-Ijesa, Osun State, HRM Oba (Dr) Areola Ademuyiwa, Arijelori Agbara III; Oyo State CAN Chairman, Special Apostle Col Joshua Akinyemiju Rtd; Mrs Oluwatoyin Balogun, Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, who was represented by Mr Lateef Ariori, a director in the ministry and the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon Segun Olayiwola.

    The Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland and APC guber hopeful in Oyo State, Oloye Saheed Oladele, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Bisi Akande, the former Osun state governor and former national chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), today, in the latter’s Ibadan home.

    On the entourage of Oloye Saheed Oladele on the courtesy visit was Professor Mojeed Alabi, a former Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly and former House of Reps member, who represented Ede Federal Constituency, comprising Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Governments in Osun State.

    The details of the meeting which lasted over an hour were not disclosed.

    Baàmẹ̀kọ́ pays 5-year fee, restores NECO accreditation for Ibadan public school

    Hope has been rekindled for a school in the heart of Ibadan (name withheld) following the payment of its five-year NECO accreditation fee by the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland, Oloye Saheed Oladele.

    The school’s NECO accreditation licence had expired in 2023, preventing students from sitting for the examination in 2024. 

    In response to a save-our-soul appeal from the Old Students Association, Oloye Oladele promptly stepped in and covered the full cost required to restore the school’s accreditation for the next five years.

    Expressing their gratitude, the visibly elated Old Students Association commended the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland for his timely intervention, which has brought relief to both the school and its students who missed last year’s examination.

    The association’s National President described Oloye Saheed Oladele’s appointment as Baàmẹ̀kọ́ as well-deserved, noting his continued commitment to advancing education in Oyo State.

    The National President also offered prayers for Oloye Saheed Oladele, asking God to bless him and fulfill his aspirations.

    Similarly, the National PRO of the association prayed that God would grant Baàmẹ̀kọ́’s desires in recognition of his generous support to the students, while the National Secretary expressed hope that his dreams would be fulfilled.

    …urges parents to vet schools before enrolling children

    Oloye Saheed Oladele, the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland and Chairman/CEO of Erudite Group of Schools, has advised parents to thoroughly investigate schools before enrolling their children.

    He made this call while delivering a lecture titled “Factors Affecting Sound and Moral Education in Our Nation: Pros and Cons, How Far?” during the centenary celebration of St. Peter African Church, Ajebo, Ogun State, today.

    The education entrepreneur stressed that to ensure that  children get sound and moral education, parents must prioritise doing research on the schools their children wish to attend. 

    Among the ten important points Oloye Oladele made was for parents to know the kind of teachers in the schools. 

    He said that teachers’ competence and state of mind are essential for the academic success of pupils and students.

    Oloye Oladele added that parents have a duty to examine the curriculum schools make use of in teaching and learning since curriculum serves as a guide for teachers to know and understand the contents of school subjects.

    While thanking the Erudite CEO for the invaluable lecture he delivered, the vicar of the church, Rev. Canon Ebenezer A. 

    Opabiyi stated that Oloye Oladele combines brilliance with humility and that any person who possesses both qualities deserves to be supported to attain a position of authority as they are necessary ingredients a leader needs to succeed. 

    He said what attracted them to Baameko are the numerous achievements recorded by Erudite Schools in Cambridge A Level, SAT and other international examinations and they thought he is the right person to do justice to the topic of the lecture.

    The entire church prayed for Oloye Oladele to be successful in his journey towards becoming the governor of Oyo State.

    The Kano-born multibillionaire businessman and foremost philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, expressed excitement while receiving the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland and Chairman/CEO of Erudite Group of Schools, Oloye Saheed Oladele, in his palatial home in Kano. 

    According to a statement signed by Maroof Asudemade, Director of Media and Publicity, Saheed Oladele Support Foundation (SOSF), Oloye Oladele was on a courtesy visit to the nonagenarian multi-billionaire businessman.

    While welcoming the Ibadan chief, Alhaji Dantata said he felt delighted to host Oloye Oladele whose sterling contributions to education through his Erudite Millennium Group had attracted his attention even in faraway Kano State.

    The 93-year old man who is also the great uncle of the Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, stated further that Nigeria needs people like Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland in leadership position because of his meritorious achievements as a young educationist par excellence.

    He stressed further that when good people like him stayed away from governance, Nigerians would continue to be ruled by charlatans and our parlous conditions would remain the same.

    Alhaji Aminu Dantata also advocated roundtable discussions among Nigerians, irrespective of tribes, to discuss how to move the country forward.

    While responding, Oloye Oladele thanked Alhaji Dantata for his hospitable gesture and his pieces of sagely advice. He was excited that he was sitting before the respected elder statesman as his guest. 

    He commended the Nonagenarian for his unmatched efforts in the areas of economy and business as he said Alhaji Dantata remained one of the pillars of Nigerian economy and a father of many billionaires in Nigeria. 

    Baameko recalled how Alhaji Dantata’s son-in-law honoured him by driving all the way from Abu Dhabi to Dubai to meet him in 2022. He offered prayers for longer life and good health for him as he stated that the country needs more of his wise counsels.

    Oloye Oladele went on the courtesy visit in company of his friends, Alhaji Tasiu Kura, Chairman/CEO, Kura Brothers, and Alhaji Uba Yakassai, former MD of Sabon Gari, Kano.
