Omalara Ogunmakinju said winning the gold medal in the 4x400m Mixed Relay at the African Games meant so much to her.
She revealed that the feat was not just a personal achievement for her but also a testament to the hard work and dedication she has put into her training.
“I’m very happy. And I give all glory to God for making the hard work pay for me because I was ready for this game, and it’s really paid off.

“So I give all glory to God almighty for making it possible for me,” she said.
The final lap of the relay was a moment of intense pressure, with all eyes on Omalara.
“Yeah. It’s teamwork, so an individual has to do his or her best.
“So I did my best, and I just kept pushing to the finish line and all glory be to God, I pushed through,” she shared.
For Omalara, the gold medal she won at this African Games represented her journey, her struggles, and her determination to go the extra mile to succeed. “It means a lot. It means to me the entirety of my race.
“I’m going to keep pushing till I reach the finishing line,” she added.
