  • Star Lager Beer for One Lagos Fiesta

    One Lagos Fiesta will begin on the 24th of December 2018 as count down for the over 480 hours of pure entertainment and fun activities begins.

    Star Lager Beer has been named as one of the official sponsors of the annual showpiece happening in five key districts within Lagos State for eight days.

    Residents are open to celebrate the holiday season at any of the select locations which includes; Agege Stadium, Ikorodu Town Hall, Badagry, Epe Marina and Eko Atlantic

    An Array Of Stars including Olamide, Davido, Pasuma, Sunny Ade, Slim Case will be delivering some energetic performance at all venues to lite up simultaneously the Star One Lagos Fiesta.

    According to the State Commissioner of Tourism, Mr Steve Ayorinde, a lucky winner will go home with a car at the fiesta, however, the potential winner must have a PVC in order to qualify for the raffle draw.

    There will be Beer Village Tourism, Complete with a games arena (PS4, Foosball, etc), watch Live EPL Matches, networking opportunities and fun memories.

    The sponsor has come up with an initiative tagged; Star Happy Hour designed to reward its consumers by offering opportunity to participate in a draw to win fantastic prizes from Star Lager beer.

    There will be dancing competition and comedy as well at the venues of the fiesta.

    Participants will experience cross over into 2019 in grand style with a new year toast and dazzling fireworks display over the Eko Altantic.

    The Premium beer, Cold Star Lager will be there to refresh consumers as they wrap up the year with shining moments.

  • Star partners One Lagos Fiesta

    Star Lager Beer has revealed plans to round up the year in conjunction with the Lagos State government at its flagship yuletide revue, One Lagos Fiesta (OLF), which is scheduled to hold from December 24 to the early hours of January 1, 2019.

    During the unveiling on Monday, the Lagos State government disclosed, that, artistes across all genres would be performing at this year’s OLF with support from Nigeria’s beer brand, Star Lager.

    The eight-day celebration will hold in five different designated locations in Lagos simultaneously and will feature not just artistes but dance groups and cultural performances.

    The 2018 OLF, as it is fondly called, will also feature support from Star Lager to provide Lagosians non-stop refreshments all through the week-long event.

    Speaking on why the brand chose to partner with OLF, the Brand Manager, Star Lager Beer, Onyebuchi Nwangwu, said; “Star Lager Beer is consumer-focused, and a listening brand. We know how passionate Nigerians are about festivities and that is why we’re supporting One Lagos Fiesta. We share in this excitement and we will be pulling all the stops to ensure our consumers have a great time all through the eight days.”

  • Two million people expected at One Lagos Fiesta

    Two million revellers are expected at this year’s fourth edition of the One Lagos Fiesta (OLF) in the five centres of Lagos. The OLF   will hold in: Victoria Island, Epe, Ikorodu, Agege and Badagry. The eight-day event will kick off on the 24th of this month in all the five centres.

    In a press conference to announce the 2018 edition, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said the fiesta, in collaboration with some corporate organizations, will give residents of Lagos, both old and young, opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves.

    The theme for this year is A December to Remember.  The government is expecting about two million revellers to participate in the eight-day event.

    Ayorinde said the One Lagos Fiesta has become the biggest end-of-the-year entertainment brand in Africa. And it will continue to offer unparalleled entertainment.

    His words: “The event, without doubt, has become the biggest end-of-the-year entertainment brand in Africa as it provides an unparalleled platform for residents and visitors, both old and young, to relax and enjoy themselves in a secured environment.

    “As a government, we are encouraged by the noticeable achievements recorded as a result of hosting this event and we are taking advantage of this year’s edition to fete millions of Lagosians who have supported this initiative running for the 4th consecutive year.

    “ The One Lagos Fiesta draws parallel with other international cross over events in the world especially in the countdown night of December 31, and with the unique features associated with the fiesta, it is anticipated to attract over two million direct participants across the state and over 90million viewers via live television and live streaming on social media.”

    For this year’s fiesta, Ayorinde said the state was partnering with some corporate organizations who are sponsoring the event.

    He said: “ There are some reputable private organizations that share the same vision and support us in this enviable drive. The State Government believes that the platform has and will continue to engender economic development, empowerment of the people and promote tourism. This is exemplified by the fact that besides entertainment, OLF offers upcoming artistes and tradesmen ample opportunity to showcase their talents and market their products which fits into the agenda of the Akinwunmi Ambode administration.

    The One Lagos Fiesta will include  Kiddies Corner, cultural performances,  stage play, talent hunt ( a grassroot competition which provides a platform for youths to compete using their talents in the areas of music, dance, comedy and other creative activities). There will be live  music concert, which will feature trending DJs and MCs and performances by popular Nigerian artistes and musicians.

    Ayorinde said in this year’s fiesta, there will be a  raffle draw for the purpose of winning a brand new saloon car, courtesy of  CIG Motors. He said: “The competition is open to only residents of Lagos State who are up to 18 years of age and are in possession of a valid Permanent Voter’s Card PVC. Every individual that resides in Lagos and wishes to participate is a potential winner of the vehicle. Entries will open on Thursday, 6th December and close on Wednesday, 26thDecember 2018.

    Entries will be submitted strictly online through the OLF website. The winner is expected to emerge through a raffle draw which will be conducted on the 31st December, 2018 at Eko Atlantic City venue. There are other consolation prizes to be won.”

    From the Eko Atlantic in Victoria Island to various capacity arenas in Ikorodu, Badagry, Epe and Agege, the funfair was the same with a long list of artistes performing to the delight of fans for free.

    But the climax of the events, tagged One Lagos Fiesta, created the loudest echo across the state with cross-over excitement, musical flare, energized dancing and bellows of fireworks with which the New Year was ushered in.

    Lagos has maintained this annual tradition that has endeared residents in the Lagos communities to contemporary entertainment during the Yuletide.

    The initiative introduced by the government of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode last year, was part of his Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment/Arts Sports for Excellence (T.H.E.S.E) project.

    The event was supported by various companies, including indigenous telecommunications company, Globacom.

    At the dot of crossover, the city joined the rest of the world to say goodbye to 2016 and welcome the New Year with fanfare at the end of the 8-day long event. Governor Ambode who was live at the Eko Atlantic venue gave a message of hope for a better 2017, urging residents of the state to remain resolute in the face of challenges.

    The governor who was at the Badagry venue few days back promised to build a state-of-the-art cinema in Badagry within the next 18 months. The construction of the cinema, he said, would create employment opportunities for youths, while also boosting the tourism potential of the region.

    Artistes at the various shows who were drawn from different genres include the Mavin team, MI, Phyno, Reminisce, Lil Kesh, Seriki, Mayorkun, Adekunle Gold, Olu Maintain, Dremo, Niniola, Idris Abdulkareem, Kenny Saint Best, Azadus, Tony Tetuila, Jazzman Olofin, Klever Jay, Wale Thompson, Minjin, Lanre Teriba, Busola Oke (Eleyele), Oluwaseun Rantiola, CDQ, Dammy Krane and Konga among others.

    Badagry to become tourism hub in Africa – Ambode

    Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Thursday said that his administration would ensure that Badagry becomes the hub of tourism and resort enterprises in Africa.

    Ambode said this at the `One Lagos Fiesta’ which took place at the Badagry Grammar School in Badagry, Lagos State.

    He added that his administration would ensure that the town becomes a flashpoint for development projects in the state.

    “This administration is determined to transform this ancient city into a tourism hub that would attract so many international people to this great city.

    “The six-lane road construction would further boost its economic activities and let’s not forget the seaport that would soon be developed in the town in the nearest future.

    “Our eyes are set on Badagry and we are doing things for the future because we intend to open up Badagry forever,” he said.

    Ambode commended the turnout of people at the event.

    “I have been to two different events but I must commend the turnout here because it is the largest and the best that I have witnessed so far.

    “This goes to show that people here are committed to moving the state forward and I’m so excited and glad about that,” he said.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the artistes that performed at the all-nite fiesta were; Mayorkun, Olu Maintain, CDQ, Dremo and Ara, amongst others.

  • Glo partners Lagos on One Lagos Fiesta

    Globacom is partnering with the Lagos State government for the successful hosting of this year’s edition of One Lagos Fiesta, an initiative of the state government to celebrate the end of the year and count down to the New Year.

    Globacom was formally unveiled as a major sponsor of the initiative at a press conference addressed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, together with the  Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mrs. UzamatAkinbile-Yusuf, Special Adviser to the Governor of  Lagos State on Education and Co-Chairman, One Lagos Fiesta,  Mr. Obafela Bank-Olemoh, and Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Co-Chairman, One Lagos Fiesta,  Hon AdebimpeAkinsola.

    Mr. Ayorinde said the fiesta this year is bigger with new interesting additions that will etch the initiative in the minds of Lagosians for a long time to come.

    Among such innovative additions is a grassroots competition tagged ‘Lagos Has Got Talent’, which will provide a platform for youths to come together to compete for glory using their God-given talent and skills in singing, dancing, rapping and so many more.

    Like the last edition, this year’s edition will also take place simultaneously in five locations-Agege, Badagry, Ikorodu, Epe and Lagos Island (Bar Beach). But unlike last year, when it happened for five days, this year, the fiesta will last eight days.

    Mr. Ayorinde said the general idea is to constructively engage the youths and create additional platforms for business activities for Lagosians even in the midst of the social interactions.

    In her remarks at the press conference, the Co-chairman of the organising committee, HonourableAkinsola said the event will attract the biggest stars in the country’s music firmament from various genres, including hip-hop, reggae, juju, apala, afro beat and highlife, among others.

    Lagos, NB sign MoU on One Lagos Fiesta

    The Lagos State Governor Mr. Akinwunmi  Ambode  has  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigerian Breweries Plc on  One Lagos Fiesta.

    Ambode, who signed the MoU with the firm during a courtesy visit, commended the brewery giant for its commitment to the economic prosperity of the state and the nation.

    While congratulating the firm on its 70th anniversary, he urged its management to remain focused on excellent business practices and outstanding corporate governance.  He said the firm has been part of the development of the state since its creation 50 years ago.

    “In the last 50 years, you have contributed to the growth and development of Lagos State. We are happy you have been part of the success story of this state,” Ambode said.

    The governor highlighted the company’s contribution towards job creation through direct and indirect employment of Lagosians and praised it for being a responsible corporate citizen. He added that it has done more than any other firm in terms of corporate social responsibility in the state.

    Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles has shown its zest to support the biggest end-of-the-year crossover event in Nigeria. The end-of-the-year crossover event tagged: “One Lagos Fiesta” is in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture with a whooping sum of 10million Naira as support. The event replaces the annual Lagos Countdown event - a concept of the State’s Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), to herald the New Year while celebrating the rich culture, music, language of the state and also promoting commerce especially for more small scale businesses in the State.  This year’s edition is the fourth of the series which usually witness over 200,000 individuals in attendance.
