  • Onyekuru to feature in Belgium League playoff

    SUPER Eagles’ attacker, Henry Onyekuru has said that he is expected to return to RSC Anderlecht next month when the Belgian league playoffs begin. Onyekuru, who has been at Everton training ground for some weeks, told AOIFootball.com from the UK, that he has started kicking the ball already and would return to Anderlecht early next month.

    “Yeah I have started kicking the ball already so I should be back to full fitness in a fortnight. I am expected to recuperate in 16 weeks before playing games. it will be 14 weeks on the 31st of this month and the remaining two weeks left, I’ll observe it in Anderlecht with the team before games,” Onyekuru said.

    Highly-rated Nigerian youngster Henry Onyekuru has revealed that he has hopes of one day playing for Arsenal.

    The teenage winger has ten goals and six assists in 22 appearances for Belgian side KAS Eupen this season, and admits he’s attracted by the prospect of playing in both the Premier League and Champions League.

    And he revealead he has been inspired by Genk midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, with his compatriot reportedly close to joining Premier League champions Leicester City next month.

    “I believe I have the level to one day play in the Champions League”, Onyekuru said.

    “I look at what happened to Wilfred Ndidi. We come from the same region in Nigeria and meet up regularly. His transfer to Leicester is an example for me. The Premier League is my dream league, although I would rather go to Arsenal.”

    A skilful wideman who only arrived in Belgium from Aspire Senegal in 2015, Onyekuru also revealed that his footballing idol is Gunners record goalscorer Thierry Henry, a player whom he has drawn inspiration from since a young age.

    “Football was my relaxation after school. With my friends, we watched the Premier League every weekend.
