  • Why I lashed out at Eniola Badmus over ‘hairline’ comment -Opeyemi Aiyeola

Why I lashed out at Eniola Badmus over ‘hairline’ comment -Opeyemi Aiyeola

Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has spoken out about her online feud with colleague Eniola Badmus

The controversy began when Badmus left a comment on Aiyeola’s Instagram post, questioning her hairline.

Aiyeola felt hurt and called Badmus out for hypocrisy, given Badmus’s past experiences with body shaming before undergoing surgery.

Aiyeola, in a video, emphasised that she and Badmus aren’t close friends, and their lack of genuine relationship made the comment disrespectful.

Badmus who eventually apologised, claimed her remark was a joke but Aiyeola deleted the comment, calling it insincere.

In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Aiyeola revealed that before the incident, Badmus has never liked or celebrated her posts, and she has done the same.

She said: “We know ourselves; we might not talk on phones, we know those liking our comments, and we know ourselves liking and commenting on each other’s posts.

“Since the day I opened my social media post, you’ve never liked my post or celebrated me, and I’ve never done the same to you, and we are not enemies. But this is social media, and Eniola knows how it works.

“You said my hair is balding, meanwhile, almost a week before the video I made, social media bad belles have been making bad comments, and I don’t fight people or correct people as long as it didn’t deduct money from my account.

“You now went under my comment and said “Opeyemi, where is your hairline?” I wasn’t pained by the comment honestly until people went under her comment to mock me, see honestly we all see each other’s comments, forget that ‘somebody is too busy’, no one is too busy”.

  • Fear of divorce made me block industry colleagues – Opeyemi Aiyeola

Fear of divorce made me block industry colleagues – Opeyemi Aiyeola

Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has revealed that she blocked colleagues and distanced herself after marriage to avoid divorce.

In an interview on Oyinmomo TV, she shared how she took a 10-year break from career to focus solely on her marriage.

According to her, she met her husband, Olayiwola Abdulwakilu, at the peak of her career and decided to leave the spotlight to start a family with him in London.

She revealed that the fear of divorce and unstable relationships often associated with industry practitioners led her to block her colleagues’ numbers during her time away.

According to Aiyeola, she wanted to protect her marriage and family life.

After a decade away, the mother of two decided to refocus on her career, feeling she had given enough to her family.

She said: “When my name rose, he came to me. I didn’t how he did it. He carried me abroad and I was a lover girl, too. That’s how I found myself in London. It seems like he added honey. Epe people are good with skills, and you will fall for their tricks.

“I was off the scene for over ten years and apologise to my fans. I held my marriage in high esteem, so I blocked everybody’s number in the industry. Let’s appreciate our fans; they’re the cause. Some say practitioners don’t have homes or stable lives, but don’t know what happens behind those relationships. I didn’t want my case to be like that, so I blocked everyone from the industry for ten years.

“I sincerely didn’t understand how I ended up blocking everybody, and I use my hands to unblock everybody.

“When I finally got myself back, I asked myself, “What happened? Who did I offend? “So I pleaded with myself, “Let me focus on my career. “I have two boys, and they know that I love them. I’ve given them everything—every style, every bit of love, every sacrifice. I have given them enough; they should allow me to carve my own career”.

Opeyemi Aiyeola blasts Eniola Badmus over comment

Actress Opeyemi Ayeola has publicly criticised her colleague, Eniola Badmus, for body-shaming her in a comment on one of her videos.

Opeyemi, in a video, expressed disappointment, stating that Eniola, having experienced body shaming herself, should be more empathetic and understanding.

She said: “I understand the way social media is, and that there are a lot of animals in human form. I have only decided to reply Eniola Badmus because of the comment she dropped on one of my videos,” Aiyeola began.

“You Eniola used to be an image of ridicule and body shaming on social media. To now think that you, Eniola, who have experienced the hurt and pain of body shaming could come under my video.

“You have never helped in promoting anything that has to do with me. You rarely comment on my videos, you rarely even like my videos. I’m not offended by it because I rarely do the same to some of my colleagues.

“But for you, Eniola Badmus, to come under my post and drop this comment. I am not ignorant of the fact that there are so many evil people out there, but not somebody of your calibre, especially somebody who has experienced the hurt and the pain of being body shamed.”

“What exactly is funny? What is that statement for?” Aiyeola questioned.

“You are funny? You are beautiful? Eniola, you see yourself in the mirror and all you see is beauty? You think a human-based physical appearance is what beauty is all about? You are ignorant. The only thing you have expressed is your ignorance. Not only have you expressed your ignorance, Eniola Badmos, you have also expressed exactly who you are and what you stand for. And I pity the people who have you around as their friend,” she added.

Aiyeola emphasised that the comment was unwarranted given that both of them rarely interact with each other and expressed her disappointment in Badmus for making such a remark, especially as a public figure.

She said, “We don’t fight, you don’t know whether I exist, I don’t even know whether you exist. You’ve never celebrated me. I’ve never celebrated you. For you to come under my post, drop this comment. You have only shown the entire world what you are made of, the true you. And for that, I pity you.

“You don’t know what true love is all about. That’s the only thing I can say. You don’t know what genuine new love is all about. That is why people like you, Eniola Badmus, especially people who have experienced something. When it looks like God has answered your prayer, you’ve done surgery. You’ve looked in the mirror. You feel you look beautiful. And the only validation you can give yourself is coming under my post to drop this. Public figure, somebody who should be fighting for the youth.

“Somebody who has been placed in a political, who the government has trusted to place you in a political position. Somebody who youth have trust to follow you. Anyway, I know what Nigerians stand for.

“I would classify Eniola Badmos, apart from being an…, and apart from being ignorant, I would also classify you as a zombie. Without conscience. Without a heart. There’s nobody they cannot eat. There’s nobody they cannot fight with You don’t have to offend them, they’ll just grab you.

“You are a zombie. And once again, I pity wonderful people who think you are a… being and have surrounded you for whatever reason. You will reap the work of your hands. But for you to come on social media and make a public shame of yourself, that’s your problem”.

Aiyeola also wrote: “Those of you that did surrogacy, let people know so that they would know that surrogacy works. That’s why I applaud people who come out with their full chest and say they had their child through surrogacy or IVF. You all will now give half-baked testimony which doesn’t help others.

“Let’s start this week with this highly sensitive and controversial issue…Testimonies shared on the altar! I am a strong believer that God is still in the business of miracles but the way most (not all) believers share their testimonies leaving out all medical support and interventions received is all shades of wrong and deceptive. We all need to please remember that unfortunately, we have a lot of vulnerable, gullible, and desperate faithful. Shalom.”
