    How I feel about my old videos being used as ‘memes’ – Osita Iheme

    Popular actor, Osita Iheme, also recognized as Paw Paw, has responded to the ongoing trend of his older videos resurfacing and being utilized for comedic purposes on social media platforms.

    Iheme rose to fame for his portrayal of Pawpaw, a mischievous teenager, in the Nollywood movie ‘Aki and Pawpaw’.

    During an interview with ‘Next Kulture’, Iheme shared his thoughts on the continued circulation of his childhood videos and their transformation into memes.

    Replying to this, Osita said that he was elated as he felt people still appreciated his work.

    He recalled that the movie was over twenty years and yet people still acknowledged him, calling called it an ‘asset’

    He said: “I feel great, it is good to see that your work is doing well out there, people appreciate what you do. Even though it’s been some many years, people still value it now so it’s good. It shows that you have an asset, you can always back up with us because when you look at 20 years ago job you done, there are a lot using it now to express themselves so I feel happy.”

    Popular actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki in the entertainment industry, has shared the heartwarming tale of his enduring friendship with fellow actor Osita Iheme, also known as Pawpaw.

    During an engaging interview with the well-known media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Aki opened up about their first encounter and how it paved the way for their unbreakable friendship.

    Recalling their initial meeting, Aki narrated how their seamless conversation during that moment formed the cornerstone of their lasting companionship.

    He expressed his conviction that their connection was destined, owing to the unique circumstances surrounding their lives prior to the meeting.

    He said: “Whenever I go to the market, I will meet one lady that will say, ehn ehn, you were here yesterday, you remember, you asked me to keep these clothes when Osita will come she will tell him, you came and collected the clothes nah.”

    He attributes their chemistry as one of the reasons for their great acting on screen, explaining their little secret on how they would cue each other in if they missed their lines and how no one around them would know except they were holding the script.

    Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze a.k.a Aki, has added another feather to his cap with the honorarium as a distinguished visitor to the city of Miami, Florida.

    The actor shared the news on his instagram page @Chineduikedieze with some pictures from the ceremony which took place in Miami, Florida.

    Ikedieze was full of thanks to the Mayor of Miami for according to him the renowned title.

    He said, ‘’When the world believed in you, believe in yourself also. Have faith in your abilities.

    “Without a humble or reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.’-Norman Vincent Peale’’

    “From the bottom of my heart I say thank you to Miami-Dade ,country office of the Mayor and the county commissioners for honouring me as a distinguished visitor to the city of Miami, Florida’’.
    ‘’You have just given me a key to more success in life’’, he said.

    The 39 year-old Abia State born actor joined the movie industry in 2000 and rose to fame after starring in the blockbuster movie ‘’Aki na Ukwa’’.

    Ikedieze is best known for playing alongside Osita Iheme popularly known as’’Pawpaw’’ and has acted in over 100 movies.

    He also plays the role of Efetobore Johnson in the current Television Drama Series- The Johnsons.

    In 2007, he received the lifetime achievement award at The African Movie Academy Awards.

    Similarly, in 2011 he received a National Award of Member of the Order (MON) .

    THIS is certainly one gist that will stun fans of popular comedic actor, fondly called Pawpaw. The actor, whose real name is Osita Iheme, has written a book to motivate students to achieve beyond their perceived limits.

    The book, ‘Inspire 101, is a collection of inspirational quotes by the celebrated actor. It was reviewed by Prof. Pat Utomi, comedian, Ali Baba and Dimgba Igwe.

    According to reports, Osita has also received the approval of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to print and distribute copies of the book to schools in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT Abuja). And it is also expected to form part of their library and research materials.

    Speaking on his effort, the actor said: “I pray and believe that the ‘Inspire 101’ (book) will have a direct positive impact on students and any other person that reads it. It is the fragment of my thoughts and beliefs that drove and elevated me from my ‘not too comfortable background’ to a better person in the society. People can move from the background of lack and insufficiency to become a beacon of hope and inspiration to others. As role interpreters, our fans erroneously believe that what we act in movies depicts our true beings, but this cannot be the truth. ‘Inspire 101’, which is a compilation of my original quotes, is a peep through the window of my soul.”

    CONTRARY to the rumour making the rounds that the duo of Chinedu Ikedieze( Aki) and Osita Iheme(Pawpaw) are at loggerheads, they have denied any friction in their friendship.

    Aki, who has maintained a low profile since he got married, said Osita is a friend and brother, whom he loves dearly. “When I first met Osita, I never saw him as a threat. He is my friend and a good actor; so, I don’t have issues with him and we both keep contacts,” he said.

    Aki attended the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu State, where he studied Mass Communication.

    The actor started exhibiting his acting skill in the school’s dramatic society, where he acted in a drama sketch, and was later inspired to participate in dramatic activities. After leaving school, Aki auditioned for a role in the film, Evil Men, in 1998. Since then, he has featured in countless number of movies.

    Aki, Pawpaw, eight others receive World Cup largesse

    NOLLYWOOD’S diminutive duo of Chinedu Ikedieze( Aki) and Osita Iheme ( Pawpaw) will headline entertainment stars who will cheer the Super Eagles during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

    They will be supported by eight other Nollywood stars whose identities are yet to be released.

    According to information, both stars, alongside the eight, will receive the sum of N138.4m to cheer the Nigeria’s national team.

    Consequently, it is reported that a number of Nollywood stars are currently making frantic calls to the National Assembly in the bid to benefit from the largesse.

    It will be recalled that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) recently announced that it had set aside the sum of $800,000 (about N138.4 million) to sponsor 10 Nigerians in the entertainment industry to cheer the Super Eagles during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

    In the financial plan presented to the National Assembly, the NFF had revealed its decision to invite the duo of Aki and Pawpaw and eight other Nigerians in the entertainment industry for the world football fiesta in June.

    NOLLYWOOD actor, Osita Iheme, famously called Pawpaw, marked his 34th birthday on Thursday, at his home town, Obeagu in Nkanu East, Enugu State.

    With palpable joy, he said, “I feel great and honoured to be with these people. I’m also fulfilled with the presence of my colleagues who are here to celebrate with me. I’m so glad with the love they share with me. Though this is just a mini-celebration to mark the day, the bigger one will come up later.”

    THE annual quiz competition organised by the Osita Iheme Foundation for secondary schools was successfully concluded last Friday.

    It is being packaged by Nollywood actor, Osita Iheme, a.k.a Pawpaw, as part of his efforts towards the development of education in Nigeria.

    At the end of the session, the foundation gave out cash prizes, electronic gadgets and other items to deserving students.
