No fewer than 957 delegates across the 30 local government areas and the Modakeke area office have commenced the process to elect the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for 2026 Osun state governorship election.
This is coming barely 12 hours after Adeleke dumped the party over a crisis within the party.

Meanwhile, the National Organising Secretary of the party, Hon Theophilus Shan, insisted that the party will hold as scheduled.
The Chairman of Primary Committee, Mr. Humphery Abba, declared that out of 990 delegates, 957 were accredited for the exercises.
As at the time of filing this report, voting is underway as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) including its Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke and security operatives are in the ground.
