Two siblings in Osun State, Hassan Wasiu, 34; Kamoru Wasiu, 30, and one other, have been remanded at a correctional facility over alleged theft of 22 bags of cocoa pods.
The siblings alongside one Liadi Muhammed (40) were dragged before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, Osun State by the Police who pressed three-count charges against them.
The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Joseph Adebayo, in a charge presented before the court explained that the defendants committed the offences on June 18, 2024 at Ondo Road, Ile-Ife, at about 3am.

He noted: “The defendants conspired and unlawfully broke into a shop belonging to the complainant, Adegbaju Olaolu and stole 22 bags of dry cocoa beans, electric battery, solar system and clothes valued at N30 million.”
However, they pleaded not guilty to the alleged offenses pressed against them despite not having legal representation.
The presiding Magistrate, Abosede Sarumi denied them bail over failure to present formal bail application as she ordered that they should remanded and adjourned the case to September 9, for mention.
