    I lost over N400 million deals over leaked s3x tape – Oxlade

    Afrobeats singer, Olaitan Abdulrahman Ikuforiji, popularly known as Oxlade, has opened up on how his past escapades cost him endorsement deals worth over N400 million. 

    In an interview with Joey Akan, Oxlade mentioned how he had to pay a blackmailer some amount of money adding that seeing his grandma cry was the height of it all for him. 

    He further mentioned how the grandmother asked if he wanted to kill her, stressing that he had to go to a rehabilitation center in London as his mental health was largely affected. 

    According to Oxlade, he has cut off communication with certain ‘close’ individuals after the incident saying he learnt that ‘it would always be your own people’.

    “It was a peace of mind for me when my escapades made it to the public because I was getting blackmailed. I paid the blackmail money eventually.

    “The sad effect was hearing my Grandma cry asking me if I was going to be the one to end her. 

    “It affected my family and mental health, I lost all my four endorsement deals. It was up to N400 million, I went back into the dark, nothing really hit me, not until my grandma asked if I wanted to kill her. I went to London for rehabilitation,” he said. 

    The Nation reported that Oxlade’s s3x tape was leaked by an unknown person on social media.

    Sensational singer, Olaitan Abdulrahman Ikuforiji popularly known as Oxlade, has crowned his senior colleague and mentor, Wande Coal with numerous titles following his influence in the music industry. 

    Speaking with Joey Akan in an interview, Oxlade said Wande is the reason why there is an evolution in afrobeats.

    “Wande Coal is my dad, that’s the reason why a bunch of us can falsetto, can claim we are singers, that’s the reason why the evolution of afrobeats started,” he stated. 

    He added that he had always been a fan of Wizkid while giving accolades to Burna Boy and Davido.

    Popular musician, Abdulrahman Ikufioriji Olaitan aka Oxlade has recounted how giving his colleague, Sarkodie his song “Non-living Thing” was the best decision he ever made in his music career. 

    Speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the singer narrated that he gave the song to Sarkodie because the rapper had also given a song in the past.

    “I was the one who told him that I had a song for him. It was supposed to be on my project. It’s a record I created and I said that this song is meant for Sark. I knew in my heart that the song was meant to be for him. I sang it for him after we did ‘Overdose’.

    “He came to Lagos to do promo and I played it for him and he was like, ‘yeah let’s do this.’ After we shot the video the song became one of the biggest songs. I feel like that is one of the best moves I’ve ever made,” he said.

    Afrobeats pop star Olaitan Abdulrahman Ikufioriji aka Oxlade has stated that money is not his primary goal to do a song feature as there are more vital things to look out for. 

    He noted that for him to feature on a song, he has to connect with the music and the artist. 

    Speaking with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, he referred to the kind of relationship he recently built with musician Darkovibes stating that it is beyond just music. 

    “Me and Darkovibes now go beyond music. After the music, the human comes in,” he said.

    He also added that he does not focus on money when doing features. 

    However, he admitted that sometimes it is just right that he survives on his full-time job, which is doing music.

    “I don’t do features for money. I feel like the quality of the music and the person surpasses any networth. But the game is the game and Daddy and Mommy gotta eat.”

    Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ikuforiji Abdulrahman aka Oxlade, recently took centre stage at the 2023 edition of Felabration at the New Afrika Shrine, Ikeja, Lagos State.

     Music enthusiasts and revellers from around the globe had a glimpse of Oxlade as he added his voice to celebrate the enduring legacy of the iconic Nigerian musician and political activist Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

    The highlight of the evening was the electrifying performance by Oxlade, who took to the stage as the opening act.

     Oxlade, known for his soulful voice and Afrobeat-infused melodies, delivered a memorable performance that had the crowd on their feet. He sang some of his popular hits, such as “Away”, “O2,” “ Ojuju”, “ Kulosa”, and “ Myself”.

     Shortly before his performance, the 26-year-old music star expressed delight at the opportunity to perform at Felabration 2023.

     He said, “I feel fortunate to be playing here tonight, especially in celebration of the legendary Fela; I’m happy and blessed. It means a lot to my career, and it made me happy that I got to do this at this point in my life.”

    Concerning the Felabration celebration, Oxlade expressed delight at the turnout, reception of his music and Afrobeat appreciation despite the dominance of Afrobeats.

     “Everything is African music; nothing is taking the shine off anything. There has to be an evolution in life, and Afrobeat has evolved too. We younger artistes propagating the Afrobeats genre owe our roots and success to Afrobeat and the solid foundation Fela Kuti set. His contributions to the growth of the Nigerian music industry are undeniable,” he noted.

    Raving singer Ikufioriji Olaitan Abdulrahman aka Oxlade has opened up on why he dropped out of university in the final year.

    He explained his near-death experience in Lagos State University (LASU) was why he left.

    The ‘Ku Lo Sa’ crooner was recently featured in a new episode of Tea with Tay podcast anchored by Temisan during which he opened up on how some guys tried to lure him into joining a gang.

    He said that he was being persuaded by cultists to join their fold while he was in his final year.

    Oxlade recalled how one day, his grandmother called him and asked him to be coming back home to Ibadan.

    He said on that very day, his tormentors stormed his room and attacked his roommate, leaving him almost dead.

    “During my university days, I was always in the church reading bible and books. Then I dropped out in my final year.

    “I’ve never said this before. I dropped out when some boy were trying to make me join gang. One day, my grandma called me asking where I am. I said I was in campus and she said I should start coming to our family home in Ibadan.

    “I went to Ibadan. That day, those cultists, they almost killed my roommates. That’s why I appreciate my grandma’s importance in my life. Truly, there’s God. And I’m saying this with my full chest, God has saved me countless times,” he said.

    He said that the pressure from the gang forced him to drop out of the institution.

    Singer Oxlade has reacted to series of backlash he received over a direct message (DM) he shared to mourn Mohbad.

    He poured out his heart in a lengthy note, addressing the backlash trailing his leaked tape, lawsuit and restricted DM of late colleague, Mohbad.

    The singer came under fire some days ago after sharing a snapshot of his chat with MohBad, capturing a restricted icon on the DM.

    Addressing the backlash, Oxlade emphasised that his account is managed by record label and the restricted method is how he labels private conversations from being accessed by his team.

    He further condemned the bullying he had faced on social media starting from his leaked sextape with a lady and the developments that followed.

    He wrote: “Tape drop. I no talk Law suit matter. I no talk Lost endorsements. I still did not send. You drag me for tiktok. Call me oxtail. The fact that the dr put me on vocal rest for nodules, you people still neva cared but I still never send.

    “On THIS matta I won’t be quiet.. How do you think people like me manage the DMs? We have teams. I restrict certain accounts to only me / my phone so only I can reply. I’m not clearing my name. I am giving you facts. I’ve lost a friend and I can’t even grieve properly because elders and blogs want to use me for click bait.

    “Fighting against bullying but you are bullying me. Make it make sense.. Im not speaking on this again please. Let’s focus on getting justice. Make una use una time do better thing and leave other people to live.

    “Note: I only restrict accounts I have a personal relationship with, because my label runs my account in other not to miss important bookings and business conversations. So the restricted account is a way of pointing out to my label that the messages from these accounts are private and they come from my close friends.

    “I have been getting death threats ever since the event unveiled but I no take anything personal because everything happens for a reason. You can silent me with a scandal but you can never dim my light. ‘mole season for a reason. Love; Gaza”

    Singer Oxlade fires back at Iyanya over ‘fake love’ comment

    Nigerian Singer, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman aka Oxlade had fired back at his senior colleague, Iyanya for tagging him as one who isn’t real and labelling his condolence to the late Mohbad as ‘fake’.

    Reacting, 26-year-old Oxlade called 36-year-old Iyanya a fool, adding that silence is not loud enough for his senior colleague and by extension, he would be live by 8 pm to speak up.

    Oxlade said: “Sometimes silence is not loud enough for a fool to get the answer … 8 pm…..We go yarn…..”

    Famous Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk aka Iyanya has tackled his junior colleague, Oxlade over his revelation following the death of MohBad.

    Iyanya termed Oxlade’s love as fake and insincere, claiming that when people are acting disingenuous, they share screenshots of how they’ve blocked or restricted a decent person on social media.

    Referencing Oxlade, Iyanya reminded him of how he had previously cautioned him about his phony love, predicting that one day, his true nature would become glaring.

    He said: “When you are fake, you will post a screenshot of how you ‘Restricted’ a good guy on social media. I told you that one day the ‘fake’ in you would be televised.”

    The Nation reported that Oxlade shared a conversation with the late Mohbad in a now-deleted viral video, exposing how he restricted the late singer’s Instagram account since 2018.
