    Art exhibition on Pakistan-Nigeria cultural ties opens in Abuja

    A celebration of artistic collaboration and cultural exchange came to life  as the ‘New Gate’ Art Exhibition was formally inaugurated by High Commissioner of Pakistan to Nigeria Major General Sohail Ahmad Khan (retd).

    Hosted at the Pakistan High Commission in Abuja, the exhibition marked a milestone in strengthening cultural ties between Pakistan and Nigeria.

    In his opening remarks, the high commissioner highlighted the role of art in bridging cultures, fostering mutual understanding and promoting peace.

    He described the exhibition as a testament to the enduring friendship and shared values between the peoples of Pakistan and Nigeria.

    Organised in partnership with Anila’s Art Addiction Gallery, the event prominently featured works curated by acclaimed artist Anila Adnan.

    In recognition of her contributions, Adnan was presented with a commemorative shield for her leadership and creative vision, which blended Pakistani and Nigerian artistic traditions into a compelling narrative of unity in diversity.

    Nigeria’s renowned cultural icon, Mama Nike, attended as the chief guest and commended the exhibition’s spirit of cross-cultural fusion and artistic excellence.

    A standout moment of the evening was a captivating performance by the Wazobia Dancers, whose dynamic showcase of traditional Nigerian dance energised the audience and embodied the event’s theme of unity through the arts.

    The event drew an eclectic mix of diplomats, dignitaries, art enthusiasts, and representatives from both communities. Guests enjoyed an immersive experience underscoring the power of art to inspire dialogue and strengthen international bonds.

    The exhibition remains open to the public at the Pakistan High Commission in Abuja until July 2.
