    Williams, Bokhari eulogise women resilience

Nigerian storyteller and media entrepreneur, Adebola Williams, with Pakistani lawyer, a former parliamentarian, Maleeka Bokhari, have unveiled Pakistani Power Girls on the sidelines of the Young Global Leaders (YGL) Summit in Singapore.

Inspired by Williams’ African Power Girls, this book celebrates Pakistani women who broke barriers in fields from law to government to social justice, empowering young girls to reach their full potential.

At the World Economic Forum in Geneva in 2021, Williams introduced Bokhari to his series, a platform for the stories of Africa’s remarkable female leaders.

Looking to replicate the social impact of the series through partnerships, he invited Bokhari, a Young Global Leader and advocate for women’s rights in Pakistan, to join him for a similar initiative in her country.

He envisioned Pakistani Power Girls as a tribute to women of Pakistan, who shattered glass ceilings and played a pivotal role in the country’s progress.

“I first saw the strength of the Pakistani women from reading Daughter of the East two decades ago and it inspired me,” he said.
