Pastor Kumuyi Urges Leaders to Ease Nigerians’ Suffering, Calls for Divine Renewal at Global Crusade

The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, has urged Nigerian leaders to empathise with the challenges faced by citizens and take decisive steps to alleviate their suffering.

Speaking at a press briefing ahead of the Global December Retreat and Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), themed “Power for Present Possession,” the cleric called on those in authority to fulfill their promises and improve the lives of Nigerians.

The event is scheduled to hold from December 20 to December 25, 2024, at the Deeper Life International Campground in Mowe, Ogun State.

Pastor Kumuyi assured participants of miraculous transformations during the retreat, citing biblical examples of divine intervention in difficult times.

He expressed optimism that Nigerians relying on God would experience greatness in the coming year.

Addressing the nation’s youth, Kumuyi highlighted God’s purpose for their lives and encouraged them to engage in the “Impact Programme,” a platform designed to empower young people and prepare them for future success.

He emphasized the program’s inclusiveness, catering to all demographics.

The revered cleric also called on Christians to actively participate in politics, stressing that righteous leadership is essential for national prosperity.

“When upright individuals lead, society enjoys peace and progress,” he said.

Kumuyi reaffirmed God’s enduring plan for the global Church, declaring that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. He praised the use of technology in spreading the gospel, ensuring its reach worldwide.

Kumuyi said the December retreat and crusade promise spiritual empowerment and renewal, reinforcing hope and faith in a brighter future for Nigeria and its people.

    Pastor Kumuyi for Suleja crusade

Over 150,000 people are expected at the one-day crusade to be organised by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Suleja, Niger State.

The crusade is themed ‘Night of Unforgettable Encounter with the God of Wonders’, will be presided over by the General Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi.

State Overseer Pastor Toyin Araromi, who addressed reporters yesterday, said the crusade, to hold on Thursday, will be part of the church’s contribution in meeting the needs of Nigerians.

“This crusade will be part of the Church’s contributions to meeting the needs of Nigerians, especially at this period of recession. We know the present agitation for fragmentation, as well as security threats to life and property in the country.

“I want to say that government alone cannot solve these multifarious problems hence, the need for a programme like this,” he said.

According to him, the task of ensuring peace and unity in Nigeria is not the responsibility of government alone, hence the need for the crusade.

“I agree with you that there have been agitations from different ethnic groups over one issue or the other but you cannot solve a problem with a problem. There is no nation that can record growth and development in the atmosphere of instability and disharmony,” he added.

  • Pastor Kumuyi’s visit to Rivers State

As reported in The Nation, Thursday, September 22, 2016 the Rivers State Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Edison Daminabo, was reported to have said that the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Williams Folorunsho Kumuyi, would use his October 2 visit to the state to CONNECT (emphasis mine) the state to God.

I wish to state unequivocally that what Pastor Daminabo said is not only unscriptural but blasphemous. The Lord Jesus Christ said: “… no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John chapter 14 verse 6). From this passage it is absolutely clear that ONLY Jesus Christ can CONNECT anybody to God, not any religious leaders-Christian or otherwise – no matter the ecclesiastical titles by which they are addressed.

The call to Christians – the clergy and the laity – is to preach the gospel whilst the ‘connecting’ of people to God is the work and office of the Lord Jesus Christ, and not that of a gospel preacher.

In order that no man may think of himself more highly than he ought to, the Lord Jesus Christ admonishes us that after we think we have done so much in His vineyard, we should just consider ourselves as UNPROFITABLE SERVANTS, at best (Luke chapter 17 verse 10).

I would advise Christian religious leaders to warn their sycophantic followers to desist from casting them (the religious leaders) in the undeserving mould of pseudo-divinity.

I hasten to say that religious leaders who ignore this advice but rather lap up blasphemous sycophancy risk being on collision course with God and its concomitant consequences.
