  • How to experience real change, by Kumuyi

Only change birthed by inner transformation will lead Nigeria to the Promised Land, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Ministries, Pastor William Kumuyi, has declared.

Kumuyi stated that the clamour for change was a welcome development but said it might be a mirage except it is complimented on inner transformation.

He spoke to reporters ahead of a state-wide crusade in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Lagos State.

The holiness preacher, who was represented by the Deeper Life Bible Church Moderator Lagos, Pastor Joseph Fasanmi, said the crusade which commences on Tuesday will hold for the next two months.

He said: “The crusade will hold at Ikeja, Ketu, Gbagada, Festac, Isolo, Agege, Alimosho, Oshodi, Orile, Ajegunle, Surulere, Apapa, Lagos Island and Shomolu.”

He assured the crusade will usher in an era of real spiritual, moral, physical, material, political and economic transformation.

According to him: “The crusade will also bring down the power of God with a view to ameliorating the rather punishing challenges many contend with.”

Kumuyi added: “Our conviction is that as we pray and hold the crusades, real and enduring change will come.

“We have the firm assurance of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ that Lagos State will soon experience an atmosphere of calmness, true freedom and liberty as God confirms His word with signs and wonders.”

Security has been strengthened in the area.

The state’s Overseer, Pastor Damian Umeh, who spoke with reporters in Aba, said although God provides security for his people, the ministry decided to engage security agents “to keep people’s mind at rest”.

Umeh said: “In view of the security challenges facing our nation, the church is in close touch with all the security agencies – the army, police, Directorate of State Security (DSS) and other para-military organisations – to ensure a smooth and hitch-free programme”.

  • Kumuyi to Nigerians: Vote credible leaders in 2015

THE General Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called on Nigerians to choose credible leaders during the 2015 general elections.

He spoke in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State, while announcing the Deeper Life two-day crusade in the state, which kicked off last weekend.

He insisted that political sovereignty belonged to the people and advised the electorate to shun tribal and religious sentiments while voting for their leaders.

He advised Nigerians to select leaders that could deliver on good governance and development.

Kumuyi said: “Concerning the coming elections, the political power is in the hands of the people.

“It is for the people to vote for credible people who can rule the country well and not those with selfish motives.

“I urge Nigerians to vote for the right people. I believe that when we are able to vote for the right and proper people, we will together lift up the country”.

Kumuyi dismissed the insinuation that members of his denomination are debarred from embracing modern technology, including watching television.

He said as a graduate of Mathematics and a former lecturer, he had access to some technologies, stressing he would not deny people from using them.

“I am a beneficiary of technology because we have been able to reach out to so many countries in the world through transmission on satellite,” he explained.

  • Sow seeds of love, says Kumuyi

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has charged Christians to continue to sow the seeds of love, compassion and peace for their desired blessings, success and promotion in the New Year.

He spoke last Sunday at the annual December Retreat and Special Miracle Service of the church at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The event tagged Crossing Over to your new inheritance and walking over the storms of life attracted thousands and featured bible study, concert, testimonies, seminars and prophetic ministration.

According to him, 2014 will be a year of abundant laughter, success, promotion, breakthrough, victory and progress for every Christian.

On how to access these goodies, Kumuyi said: “God wants us to continue to sow the seeds of love instead of hate, peace instead of war and joy instead of sadness everywhere we find ourselves.”

He opined that nations around the world will continue to roam within the circles of war, civil unrest, acrimony and bloodshed with its attendant consequences when people continue sowing the seeds of discord, hatred and anger and resentment among different ethnic, tribe and language divides.

Kumuyi further advised Christians to take solace in God no matter the storms of life that may rage as Jesus has the power to still any storm

“Jesus is the master of the storms of life and he is always interested in stilling the storm whenever we call on him in faith,” he said.

  • Kumuyi advises Christians to stay close to God

As the country approaches the New Year, The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi has advised Christians to always exhibit the virtue of patience, love and peace in the face of seeming challenges of life.

Kumuyi made this charge at the monthly two-day miracle programme recently organised by the church at the Deeper Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The event tagged ‘Get connected with the Power In the Old Time Way’, the November series, brought together over 50,000 Christian faithful from around Lagos State.

In his sermon, Kumuyi offered seven ‘Rs’ of what to do to guarantee total healing and deliverance from every form of oppression which are Repentance, Removal of Idols, Remembering God’s supremacy above any form of challenge and Rejecting anything that is tormenting their lives.

The other ‘Rs’ include Rebuking all forms of sicknesses and diseases, Receiving healing and deliverance as well as Rejoicing because the joy of the Lord is their strength.

The cleric went further to say that Christians should learn not to exalt their enemies above God as he advised them to stop praying for the death of their enemies.

“As Christians, Jesus Christ commanded us in the Bible that we should feed our enemies if they hunger or thirst but nowadays people are going contrary by praying that their enemies should die forgetting that we have final authority and power over unconquerable enemies. Christians can also have God’s protection from unrepentant enemies and great progress despite unappeasable enemies as well as glorious posture amidst unbending and unyielding enemies,” he said.

He said Christians’ progress and success in life are not in the hands of their enemies but in the hands of God, stressing that it is only God that has the final say over their lives, thus they should stop praying that their enemies should die because it only shows they don’t have confidence in God.

“If Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar and Herod did not have a final say over God’s children in the Bible then no enemy can have a final say over the lives of God’s children. Joseph got to the place of his destiny despite all the threat from his brothers,” he said.

Kumuyi also tasked Nigerians to leave vengeance to God and not to avenge themselves of their enemies, saying; “Do not overcome evil with evil but use good to overcome evil because as a believer, your actions in the midst of the people you live with matters a lot, give people another opportunity, no matter the wrong they have done against you, no reaction, no anger and no fighting.”

The General Superintendent also used the occasion to announce the forthcoming two-in-one December Retreat and monthly revival and miracle programme titled ‘Crossing Over to A New Inheritance’ and ‘Prevailing over the Storms of Life,’ saying the programme will also feature salvation, healing and deliverance as usual at the same venue.

  • Kumuyi: We must fight compromises in the Church

Church leaders have been charged to flee corruption, fight compromises and follow Christ with sincere hearts.

The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bile Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, gave the charge at the annual Worker’s Retreat of the church at its Conference Centre on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Kumuyi noted that churches in Nigeria are growing numerically but lamented members lack holiness and remain unconverted, unconnected and uncommitted to Christ.

According to him: “We will only be able to hand down the true gospel that is able to save and take us to heaven to the next generation when we make frantic efforts to remain uncompromising to the truth that our children can live and stand by no matter the odds around them.”

He added: “No matter the socio-economic changes in our world today, God will never change His standard to suit any individual or Church because He is a holy God and He requires that His Church be holy and without blemish.”

The holiness preacher said though the world will seek to influence the Church, “we will need to always draw the lines so that we can keep ourselves unspotted in this perilous world.”

  • Remain hopeful, Kumuyi charges Christians

The General Superin-tendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has tasked Christians to continue looking up to Jesus as the surest refuge against life challenges.

He spoke at the just- concluded annual Easter Retreat of the church with the theme: “Wonders of the cross and special touch of miracle”.

The retreat held simultaneously in every state in Nigeria and virtually all Africa countries, including Europe and Latin America.

Kumuyi noted that the beauty of Easter was the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for humanity, which facilitated a great power to save, heal and prepare believers for heaven.

He said that the resurrection power of Jesus delivers from the corruption of sin into a new life of godliness and glory.

The holiness preacher challenged Nigerians to put their trust in God.

He said: “We can only become beneficiaries of Christ’s victory, healing, dominion and success in a world of crises when we repent of our sins and look up to Jesus who has the power to solve all the problems of mankind.”

He urged participants to exhibit the virtue of endurance as there is always a price to pay for every achiever in life.

On challenges facing Nigeria, he assured the nation will overcome.

“We have passed through these testing times before and we overcame. We must lessen our negative sides and play down our perceived differences,” he stressed.
