Celebrity Pastor Paul Emmanuel has opened up on why he, recently, launched a gospel album and seven books.
The two-in-one event which took place in Lagos witnessed dignitaries and celebrities among whom were Honourable Desmond Elliot, and Paul Obazele among others.
Emmanuel, who is the Senior Pastor of Refiners Embassy, and also oversees a non-denominational ministry called the ROAR Networks, explained what informed his writing of seven books as well as a gospel music album.
The celebrity pastor cum songwriter reacted to his 12-track album, which featured top gospel artistes like Nosa and Mike Abdul, saying: “The title of the album is ‘The Other Side.’ We know that everybody listens to music. Everybody loves music at some point. But the kind of music that we do are songs I know again are needed for humanity and people in this season. They are gospel songs but at the same time, they carry inspiration as well. They identify with the situations of people. They identify with the problems of people. They make people understand that no matter what you are going through at any point in time, you are not the first to go through it, you may not be the last but you can also come out of it no matter what the issues might be.”

Continuing, he said, “I have been working on the album since 2019. In 2019, I went to pray somewhere sometime in the month of May. I had a vision. I am given to visions as well. I had an open vision where I saw a certain gospel music artist moving from one side to the other and I was moving from one side to the other. We met in the middle at some point and he was like, what was I doing here? I said you know me, I am a preacher and I know you as a popular gospel music artist. In the middle of our meeting, he gave me a baton and I gave him the one I had, he moved to where I was coming from, and I moved to where he too was coming from. I got to understand that from 2019, we are going to see people who are pastors become singers and people who are singers become pastors. If you watch the trajectory now a lot of these things are going on. The name of this artist is Sonny Badu, a Ghanaian artist who lives in America. Today he is also a preacher. He was a singer but now he has started his own church. And this is where my music started from.”
The 12-track album has tracks like ‘Agbara,’ ‘My Season,’ ‘He Has Done Me Well,’ ‘Amazing,’ ‘Nothing Too Hard for God,’ among others.
