A section of the Samsung building under construction at Banex Junction, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, collapsed on Tuesday, leaving four construction workers injured.
In a statement, Mrs. Nkechi Isa, Head of Public Affairs, confirmed that the incident occurred during the casting of the penthouse section of the three-story structure.
She noted that no fatalities were recorded and that the injured workers sustained minor injuries.
They were immediately taken to Wuse General Hospital for treatment.

This is the second setback for the building, which was previously damaged by fire on November 6, 2023.
Reacting to the incident, the acting Director General of the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed, urged developers to strictly comply with building codes and prioritize safety measures at construction sites.
“This incident underscores the importance of compliance with building regulations and prioritizing on-site safety to prevent such occurrences,” Mohammed stated.
He further urged residents to report emergencies by using the toll-free 112 emergency number.
Investigations into the cause of the collapse, the statement said, are ongoing, and authorities are expected to take further actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
