Reigning champions of the Nigeria Premier Basketball League, Rivers Hoopers, have signed Peter Olisemeka for season five of the Basketball Africa League.

Olisemeka re-joins the Port Harcourt club after helping the team finish third in last season’s BAL and winning the Nigerian league title.

The 6.9 foot  centre averaged 10 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 2 APG, 1.4 BLKPG in 9 games played for the KingsMen at the 2024 BAL.

Olisemeka also recorded three double-doubles against US Monastir, AS Douanes and APR in the Sahara Conference.

Olisemeka joins Kelvin Amayo to put pen to paper ahead of the 2025 BAL season which dunks off in April.

Five-time champions of the Nigeria Premier Basketball League, Rivers Hoopers, have completed the signing of Peter Olisemeka ahead of the 2024 Basketball Africa League.

The six-foot-nine center recently played for RM Valcea in România. He averaged 11.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 29 games in the regular season and averaged 15 points and 11.8 rebounds during the playoffs in the Romanian league.

Olisemeka also played for ZZ Leiden in the Netherlands, where he averaged 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in four games at the 2023 FIBA Europe Cup finals.

The 32-year-old joins Devine Eke, Kelvin Amayo, John Wilkins, and Will Perry as the team’s foreign imports for the Basketball Africa League.

Rivers Hoopers will tip off their 2024 BAL season on 4 May, 2024 when they face the home team and last season’s finalist, AS Douanes.
