    GIRLS AND THEIR NUDE PICTURES

DEAR Aunty Temilolu, I have always wanted to keep my virginity till my wedding night but never had anyone to convince me I am toeing the right path. However, God, in His miraculous way, made me read your article. Keep it up sister. You are God-send and I know He’ll never let you down. Thank you so much aunty Temilolu.

    Dear Aunty Temilolu,

Thank you for your prayers and text messages. They’ve helped me a lot and your column keeps encouraging me to stay chaste.

    Ivie, 18

    Dear Temilolu,

I was just reading your article and I just thought in my mind “I love this woman.” You are amazing. Your articles are spot on and very encouraging and I admire your level of spirituality and hope to attain that in future. Keep up the good work and God bless you sooo much.

    Dear Aunty Temilolu,

I met this guy in school and we began dating. We love each other but the problem is that he wants sex and my nude pictures. I keep saying NO but right now he says he won’t chat or call me unless I’m ready to grant his wishes. What should I do please? I really love him.

    19-year-old 200L medical student

My darling, precious, glorious, dignified, world-famous and heavenly celebrated Nigerian sisters,

When I tell you it is safer not to be romantically involved with a boy in your teens when you should be laying a solid foundation for your life at times as perilous as this, you think I am too hard while some adults think I’m being unrealistic. Don’t forget, “as you lay your bed so you lie on it.” Too many adults are having a very hard time in life today because of the wrong choices they made when they were young and in love. It’s absolutely normal to fall in love, want to be loved and enjoy being fussed over. However, you need to pursue your destiny and guard it with all your heart so you don’t get into a fatal accident which could divert the course of your destiny. When you begin to put your love for a guy above all things, you lose all sense of proportion and the devil cashes in on this to steal God’s beautiful plans for your destiny. What on earth does a guy need your nude photos for? And why in the world do you have to supply those pictures or succumb to his sexual overtures just to prove your love for him? Why would you even spare him a thought if he refuses to respect your feelings? A guy who truly loves you would not threaten to leave you if you refuse to sleep with him. Besides, I know a number of girls and even an adulterous married woman whose lives have never been the same again and are yet to recover from the shame their stupid act brought them after their nude pictures went viral. Why would you want to set up yourself on a grand scale of disgrace? Have you ever considered the fact that he may use those pictures to blackmail you into having sex with him for many years down the line?

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”  Jeremiah 17:9

How would you feel if some day you find yourself in a glorious public office or in an enviable position and someone decides the world must see your nude pictures? Have you ever considered what God would think?

“But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:28

Why would you want to get God against you by encouraging someone else to sin through a silly act of love? If God be for us, who can be against us? But if God is against you, your life would be open up to evil attacks and oppression. Please beware and be wise! Run, run, run away from any guy that asks for your nude pictures. You will never experience shame or ridicule in Jesus name. AMEN!

  • I took pictures of my slain son, says dad

A professional photographer, Mr Adekunle Ayodele, on Monday told an Ikeja High Court that he took photographs of his slain son at the scene to help police in their investigation.
He said he wept while taking the pictures.
“On getting to the scene of the crime where my son lay lifeless, the police asked me where they could get a photographer to take pictures of the corpse as an evidence.
“I told them I was a professional photographer, they requested that I should take the photographs. I brought out a camera and I took the pictures with tears in my eyes,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ayodele was testifying at the trial of Emmanuel Eguku, 23; Qudus Adeyemi, 24; and Deji Odukoya, 23 — for alleged murder of Damilare Ayodele.
They pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of conspiracy, murder and unlawful assembly.
According to the prosecution, the defendants committed the offence at 1.30 p.m. at Oriokuta Road in Imota near Epe in Lagos State.
The deceased was allegedly shot in the neck with a local pistol.
Led in evidence by the prosecutor, Mr Y.G. Oshoala, Ayodele said his son died after being shot by the defendants.
“I received a phone call from my younger brother, Odunayo Ayodele, on December 7, 2014 which was a Sunday while I was in church.
“My brother asked me to hurry home that a fight had broken out in the neighbourhood.
“I waited and prayed before stepping out and when I got to the scene of the fight, I saw my son lying dead with gunshot wounds,” he said.
Ayodele said after reporting the incident at the Imota Police Station, some policemen followed him to the scene where he was made to take his son’s pictures.
“After the photographs were taken, the body was taken to the police station where I wrote a statement.
“I begged that I should be allowed to take my son’s corpse for burial, but I was asked by the police to swear to an affidavit.
“I swore to the affidavit on Monday and the corpse was released to me for burial that day,” the witness said.
Ayodele said the police told him nine days later that some people had been arrested over the matter, adding that one of the suspects is his former tenant.
“The suspects who were initially five in number, were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Panti, Yaba, but only three were arraigned in court.
“I know the second defendant (Adeyemi) very well, he is a native of Imota and was a former tenant in my father’s house,” he said.
Under cross-examination by the defence counsel, Mr Ikenna Okoli, Ayodele denied that his son belonged to a cult.
He said: “My son was a very good boy, he was not involved in nefarious activities.
“He was working at a bakery at Ikorodu, I found out that the defendants in their statements to the police, admitted killing my son because he was too proud.”
Justice Josephine Oyefeso adjourned the case to February 27.

    •Ground forces destroy 97 camps

The military at the weekend made major recoveries in its ongoing operations to flush out militants from Lagos and Ogun Creeks from where communities are being attacked.

The ground forces which moved into the creeks after the Air Force bombardments, have recovered pictures and a register containing names of suspected militants.

It was gathered that the ground forces also destroyed about 97 camps in the enclave.

A source close to the operation, who didn’t want to be quoted because he is not authorised to speak to the media, said stench of decomposing bodies filled some of the camps, although no bodies were found.  He described this as an indication that many of the militants might have been killed from the air strikes, noting that the fleeing militants might have taken the bodies of their men.

Other items found there are three laptops, expended magazines, an AK47 rifle and police and military uniforms.

“The recovered items will aid the investigation by the DSS and enable them to go after and apprehend the suspects,” said the source who added that the recovery of the pictures and names of the suspects in a register; shows that they are organised and that they usually signed in and out. “In one of the registers there are about 450 names on it.”

He added that “the police and army uniforms found had no names on them. We saw a lot of personal effects and I can tell you that the militants suffered casualties because of the stench coming out of the camps.”

it was also learnt that the profiling of the arrested 11 suspects is ongoing. One of the revelations is that four of them have been identified as Ilaje, a development that corroborates claims from certain quarters that the gunmen were not from any particular ethnic group.

  • NYSC’s certificates now embossed with pictures

NYSC’s certificates now embossed with pictures

THE National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will begin to issue certificates of national service with the passport photographs of corps members as key features from Thursday.

NYSC’s Director-General Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, who said this in Abuja at the unveiling of the newly improved certificate of national service, noted that it was part of efforts to check cases of fake corps members.

Olawumi, who spoke through Alhaji Aliu Daura, NYSC’s director of Certification, said the new certificate was produced to end all forms of fraud perpetuated by users of the old certificate.

His words: “In our concerted effort to make the operation of the NYSC conform with global best practices, the scheme engaged in the holistic “e-nysc solution” with effect from batch ‘C’ 2014, where prospective corps members register online before proceeding to the orientation camps.

“This resulted in the enhancement of issuance of NYSC certificates namely: Certificate of National Service, Certificate of Exemptions, and Letters of Exclusion.

“With effect from Batch ‘C’ 2014, all certificates of national service bear passport photographs of the corps member at the upper right hand corner of the certificate.

“This is to guarantee the security of our certificates from forgery and to block all chances of impersonation. Therefore, Batch ‘C’ 2014 corps members, who are due to pass-out on Thursday, October 15, 2015, will have their certificates embossed with their photographs.

“Employers are encouraged to forward any certificate purportedly issued by the scheme for verification of its authenticity or otherwise.

“Effort is being made by the scheme to also make the verification of all NYSC certificates to be automated for easy access by the general public.”

Olawumi added that asides the passport photograph, the newly improved certificate also contained a back code with security numbers.

He said the improved certificate still featured the information in the old ones, except for the security features and passport photograph.

The director-general said it was only the NYSC that could locate the code and security numbers on the certificate, adding that the measure was adopted to further enhance the certificate’s security.

Olawumi added that previous certificates issued by the scheme were still valid and could be used by the owners.

NYSC’s Director of Press Mrs. Bose Aderibigbe said since the inception of the scheme 42 years ago, it had experienced cases of impersonation of the certificate.

Aderibigbe added that people often used certificates issued to other individuals to apply for jobs.

The new certificate, she said, would put an end to such cases as nobody would be able to use an NYSC certificate issued to another person to perpetrate fraud.

  • NYSC to attach corps members’ pictures to certificates

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) said on Tuesday it would begin to issue certificates of national service with the passport photographs of corps members as a feature from October 15.

The Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, said this in Abuja at the unveiling of the newly improved certificate of national service.

Olawumi, who was represented by Alhaji Aliu Daura, NYSC’s Director of Certification, said that the new certificate was produced to end all forms of fraud perpetuated by users of the old certificate.

“In our concerted effort to make the operation of the NYSC conform with global best practices, the scheme engaged in the holistic “e-nysc solution” with effect from batch ‘C’ 2014, where prospective corps members register online before proceeding to the orientation camps.

The director general said that previous certificates issued by the scheme was still valid and could be used by the owners.

Earlier, Mrs Bose Aderibigbe, the Director of Press, NYSC, said since the inception of the scheme 42 years ago, it had experienced cases of impersonation of the certificate.

Aderibigbe said that people often used certificates issued to other individuals to apply for jobs.

According to her, the new certificate, which features the photograph of corps members, will put an end to such cases as nobody would be able to use an NYSC certificate issued another to perpetrate fraud.

The director charged members of the public especially employers to ensure that they verified the NYSC certificates of prospective employees.

She said that this was earlier done by writing to the scheme, adding that employers could now verify the certificates online.

“You do not have to come to the headquarters just go online and verify the authenticity of the certificate. This will ensure that the people you are recruiting are the real owners of the document.

“Those who qualify for the certificate of national service are those who participated in the youth service right from the orientation till passing out.

“Those who qualify for the certificate of exemption are graduates who are above 30 years at the time of graduation or recipients of the National Presidential Honours Award.

“Persons who have joined the Armed Forces, Police, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of State Security (DSS) are also issued certificates of exemption.

“Letters of exclusion are issued to part-time and distance learning students and those who have not been able to pass through the normal university or polytechnic system,” Aderibigbe said.
