    Lawyers stage walkout at NBA’s ‘Unbarred’ concert over guest ‘performer’ Portable

    In the wee hours of Thursday, August 31, some lawyers left an event that was being held in Abuja as part of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) annual general conference.

    The programme tagged “Unbarred” was held at the Velodrome of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Federal Capital Territory.

    According to the event’s poster, the host was Timi Agbaje, DJ Skillz and Veentage Band were billed to man the Music Policy and it promised a surprise act.

    Time to unveil the surprise act and lawyers who had waited several hours for the programme to start were stunned to see Portable being announced as the guest performer.

    The president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yakubu Maikyau gave a brief speech, followed by a brief entertainment by the DJ before Portable’s ‘shocking’ appearance on stage.

    A significant number of the attorneys chose to leave after raising concerns about the choice of the self-styled ‘wahala’ musician for the event.

    The protesting solicitors were seen leaving the stadium on foot and others in their vehicles.

    A lawyer said: “They spoiled my day with this Zazu. He couldn’t even wear a shirt.”

    A viral video from the event showed shirtless Portable scaling portions of the stadium’s infrastructure.

    Another fuming during the walkout, noted: “How dare they call Portable to come and play for lawyers at the conference? Can you imagine? Normally, Unbarred doesn’t end till 3 am or 4 am but we are leaving for our hotels. We are so upset.”

    Another lawyer stated: “I also left but it was largely due to the fact that I was tired. Many of the conferees were unhappy that Portable was invited.”

    However, some other attorneys stayed back to ‘enjoy’ the ‘Zazu’ crooner’s energetic performance.

    As part of the yearly NBA conference, a live entertainment event called “Unbarred” is organised for attorneys.

    It is held the day before the association’s annual general meeting and serves as the grand conference’s closing celebration.

    Previous editions have featured performances by 2baba, Olamide, Wande Coal, Teni, Brymo, Falz, Ruger, Nini and Bez.

    Controversial singer Portable has called out his senior colleague Adekunle Gold for requesting a video challenge promotion from him and not a feature. 

    According to Zeh master, AG baby reached out requesting he jumps on the challenge competition for his song to reach a wider audience.

    However, Portable noted that what he wants from the singer is a feature and not a video challenge.

    In a widely circulated video, the street singer jokingly teased AG judging with his already built career. 

    According to him: “That’s how Adekunle Gold, who is popular, reached out and said I should join the social media challenge on his new song rather than a song feature.”

    Controversial singer Portable loses Instagram account to hackers

    Famous street singer, Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, popularly known as Portable’s official Instagram account has been hijacked by hackers. 

    In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, Portable’s management confirmed the situation while assuring fans of their effort to get back the account.

    It said the hackers are impersonating the ‘Zazuu’ and are likely to be using the account to spread false information, scams, and potentially harmful content.

    The statement read: “We regret to inform you that Portable’s official Instagram account has been hacked and taken over by unknown fraudsters. We understand that this incident may cause concern and confusion among our loyal fans, and we want to assure you that we are actively working to resolve this issue.”

    Members of the public have, however, been warned to disregard any messages, posts, or requests coming from the compromised account.

    Portable blasts Lege Miami over comments on relationship with Queen Dami

    Popular street-hop act, Portable has taken a swipe at actor Lege Miami for criticising his relationship with the ex-wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Queen Dami.

    Lege expressed his displeasure over Portable and Queen Dami’s alliance during on the ‘Honest Bunch’ podcast

    The entertainer, who is a well-known matchmaker on Instagram, related how Queen Dami contacted him for assistance in finding a partner.

    A couple of months ago, netizens were dazed when a video of Queen Dami’s appearance on Lege Miami’s Instagram live hookup show went viral.

    He claimed to have introduced Queen Dami to a London-based man, who she ultimately turned down, citing his hectic work schedule as a cause.

    Subsequently, he learnt of her affair with Portable while still searching for another man for her.

    He said that he phoned Queen Dami to corroborate the allegation and expressed his absolute disappointment over it.

    He said: “Queen Dami came to me that I should look for a husband. I tried my best to look for a husband for her, I gave her a guy and she said she couldn’t cope with him because of his choked work schedule.

    “Till now, I’m still helping her to look for a husband until I heard that she and Portable are dating, I called to confirm.

    “I asked, Dami, I heard you and Portable are now lovers. And she said they were still friends and had graduated to lovers just yet.

    “Then I asked her if her head was correct or not, insisting she answer if she was having a love affair with Portable. Then she asked me if there wasn’t any problem seeing how much I was interested in having her answer the question. So, I warned her never to come to my page again.

    “She now opened up saying, ‘He’s my friend. But if Portable comes now based on the way things are going I’m ready to go for him’.

    “So, I told her to stay out of my Live sessions and never come again.”

    Portable, however, took an exception to the film star’s remarks and launched a verbal attack at him for exhibiting disdain for his lover.

    The ‘Zazu’ crooner tagged Lege ‘set awon online beggars’, accusing him of begging Queen Dami for money and supported his claims with screenshots of their conversations.

    Portable set for US music tour

    Self-styled ‘wahala’ musician Portable is set to embark on a musical tour in the United States of America.

    Boldly declaring himself as the ‘new born Fela Anikuleti’, the street-hop act announced his upcoming international tour on his Instagram handle, releasing the full schedule.

    According to the shared flyer, Portable plans to cover 10 cities in the US from September 2023 to March 2024.

    The intense US tour by Portable is set to begin in the metropolis of New York from where he would move on to spread his ‘Zazu’ energy throughout the States.

    The tour boasts other interesting stops in cities including Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Dallas among others.
