  • Kaduna APC leaders assure Buhari of over 90% votes

Yusuf Bala, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, says the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District will give President Muhammadu Buhari over 90 per cent of their votes in the forthcoming presidential election.

Bala disclosed this after a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) had a closed door meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.

He said that the delegation felicitated with the Federal Government and acknowledged the work it had done for the nation in the last three and a half years.

“Particularly as it affects the poor people who are 80 per cent voter-based and to assure the vice president that because of the much work that has been done; the next election is as good as delivered.

“We are here to say that by over 90 per cent, we will deliver the president and vice president in the next election as well as the governor and his deputy among others including myself the senatorial candidate for the zone.’’

The deputy governor said that Osinbajo had warmed himself into the hearts of many Nigerians through various grassroots programmes he championed.

The Southern Kaduna APC Senatorial candidate added that part of the reason for the visit was also to invite the vice president to the zone.

“We have also come to request kindly to be part of these efforts; he has endeared himself to Nigerians through so many programmes that have led him through the poor people of this country; the creeks; the roads; the markets; the farmers and so on.

“So I want him to come to the zone to flag off our door to door campaign and hopefully carry out one of these programmes within the zone,’’ he said.

A notable member of the delegation was Dr Hadiza Balarabe, the running mate to Gov. Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna in the forthcoming governorship election.

Others were members of the state assembly and party leaders and candidates for various elective positions. (NAN)

  • Buhari condemns bandit killings in Sokoto State

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned latest bandit attacks in Gandi District of Rabah Local Government Council, Sokoto State, which reportedly claimed 30 people.

President Buhari, in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media, Garba Shehu, said that he was shocked and saddened by the latest violence which he described as “utterly evil, callous, reckless, thoughtless and reprehensible.”

He said “The persistent killing of innocent and defenceless villagers by murderous thugs is unacceptable, and my administration is leaving no stone unturned to track down these mass murderers and bring them to justice.”

President Buhari gave a firm instruction to the new Acting Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, to quickly bring on board joint operations that will rid the country of all forms of criminal activity.

The President has also approved meetings between security and Defence officials from Nigeria and neighbouring Niger Republic for joint operations that will sweep the forests.

He assured the people of Sokoto and other areas affected by banditry that his administration’s commitment to security “remains undiminished” and that “efforts are being made to improve intelligence gathering and rapid emergency response strategies.”

“Let me reassure the people of Sokoto State and other parts of the country facing security challenges that no citizen will be abandoned to their fate.

“Security occupies the centre stage of my administration’s policies, and this commitment is being pursued with more vigour as we make efforts to provide more equipment to our security personnel to enable them perform the task effectively,’’ he added.

While consoling the families of the victims, President Buhari reassured the people that “criminals won’t be allowed to hold the citizens to ransom and that poverty is no excuse for any group to take up arms against innocent people and kill them in cold blood.”

The President said that he will ensure the murderers, who are already in police custody, are speedily prosecuted in order to send a clear message that nobody will get away with such heinous crimes.

He called on state and local governments to stop their holier-than-thou attitude and ensure the mass mobilization of all citizens to assist security agents, noting that security is everybody’s business.

  • No threat can stop our support for Buhari, Nwosu replies AA Chairman

The Imo State governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Uche Nwosu, has insisted that the state chapter of the party will vote for President Muhammadu Buhari,  irrespective of the position of the national leadership of the party.

Nwosu who was reacting to the threat by the AA National Chairman, Kenneth Udeze, to expel him from the party for supporting President Buhari,  stated that no amount of threat will stop the Imo State chapter of the party from voting for President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him, “we have made up our mind in Imo State chapter of the party to support President Buhari and nothing can change that. Not amount of threat or blackmail can change our decision. The AA can decide what they want in other states but in Imo we have made up our minds and nothing can change that”.
Nwosu continued that, “the support for President Buhari is far and above party or religious inclinations and it is a task I and other members of the Action Alliance are committed to and we must deliver”.
It will be recalled that AA members led by Nwosu attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) Southeast women rally, which did not go down well with the leadership of the party.
  • PMB as God’s will for Nigeria

The elections are around the corner, and again, the hysteria that usually greets such exercises has rented the air. There has been lots of politicking going on around the country.

Political strategists and analysts are at their best-giving situations and scenarios that would shape the outcome of the elections. In all of these, I know for a certain that indeed 2019 is the year of greatness for Nigeria.

As usual, clergies have made all manners of positive predictions as regards the future of the country. And this is coupled with the relative peace that has permeated the nook and cranny of Nigeria indicates that something good is about to happen in Nigeria. So far the few prophecies that have been released suggest that Nigeria’s greatness might be around the corner. I am happy as well as sad for two reasons; one is the fact that since the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, a lot has changed in the way we do things as a people and as a country. And I am sad for the fact that those that contributed to the downfall of Nigeria have all ganged up against a man that believes so much in Nigeria and they are hell-bent on undermining him and all the efforts he has put in to set Nigeria back on track. Now, this is the irony of life that calls for serious concern from all well-meaning Nigerians.

I am of the opinion that one of the best things that happened to Nigeria was the providential coming of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015. What many did not understand then was that God indeed heard the cries of Nigerians who had been subjected to all manner of abuse by those saddled with the task of governing us. They took us all for a ride and stole our commonwealth. And they did all of these with so much impunity.

The way and manner President Muhammadu Buhari won the elections indicated that God indeed loved Nigeria and would never allow the disintegration of the country. This was on the heels of the various predictions on how Nigeria would not remain as a country after 2015. But God used President Muhammadu Buhari to thwart the plans of evil ones against Nigeria. And this much can be verified with the way and manner the president has carried on since he assumed leadership of the country. He has put the interest of the country first and above his interest. For him, the wealth of Nigeria belongs to all and not for a select few. And this has been his undoing and why the hawks that have held this country down for years are all gathered to ensure that he is voted out so that business, as usual, can resume. But they will fail. Just like the holy bible says in Psalms 91 vs. 7 “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

” The evil plot against President Muhammadu Buhari shall not come near him if God is on the throne. I am not one of those that would be blinded by religion or ethnicity and shy away from realities of life. And I would also not hide under the umbrella of faith to deny the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari has impacted positively on the lives of the average Nigerians on the street. Take it or leave, President Muhammadu Buhari was God’s will for Nigeria in 2015 and he remains God’s will for Nigeria in 2019. If not for anything, let us admit that he has freed our commonwealth from the hands of looters and for this singular act, they have vowed to take him out. But if God is for him who can be against him? No one. Also, but for his intervention, the Boko Haram insurgency would have engulfed North East Nigeria and by extension the whole country.

Read Also:Vote for Buhari or live in perpetual regrets’

Should we not be grateful to a man that has shown an unalloyed commitment to the Nigerian cause? Should we not appreciate God for this rare gift to humanity? Should we not stand up in unity and defend a man that is clearly on the side of the masses? Do we need a soothsayer to tell us that if not for President Muhammadu Buhari, the entity called Nigeria might have disintegrated? All of these are questions the intelligent minds should ask if we must be honest with ourselves. We should not be deceived by the narrative bandied around by people with questionable characters.

We should not fall for their gimmick that would take us back donkey years. I want to believe that we have gotten to that stage of our existence where we can decipher between good and evil. President Muhammadu has indeed not failed in the discharge of his duties as president of this great country. This is evident in the numerous people-oriented projects that are ongoing around the country. And what do we owe this great and selfless man? It’s simple. Nigerians must unite with the voice of God to ensure that we defeat the evil ones at the elections. Nigerians must come together with one loud voice to say enough is enough to those that have milked us dry.

Nigerians must vote massively for President Muhammadu Buhari in the coming elections because here is a man that has not failed and his words to the citizens have been a strong bond. I am of the opinion that in the very least if we do not know or remember where we are coming from, we should at least know where we are going to. And with a man like President Muhammadu Buhari, we know he has been destined to take us to the promised land. Let us make no mistakes about this. For Nigeria, it is forward ever, and backward never. Enough is enough.

  • Buhari supported Ortom’s anti-open grazing law – Presidency

The Presidency has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari supported the anti-open grazing law in Benue enacted by administration of Gabriel Ortom, the State governor in 2017.

The Presidency made this known in a statement by Garba Shehu, the President Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity in a reaction to what was alleged to be Governor Ortom hate campaign against President Buhari.

The Benue anti-grazing law came into force on the 1st of November, 2017, which seeks to prohibit open grazing by herdsmen and prevent further clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the State.

According to the Presidency, the governor has been visiting churches in the state where he falsely tells congregations about President Buhari’s so-called plans to Islamise Benue State.

The statement reads, “the Presidency calls on Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State to desist from basing his campaign for re-election on falsehoods concerning President Muhammadu Buhari and instead focus on the dire issues confronting the State” .

“Governor Ortom’s campaign is clearly one designed to stir division and hatred, and to divert the people’s attention from his inability to pay staff salaries and pensions for several months”.

“It has been noted that the governor has been visiting churches in the state where he falsely tells congregations about President Buhari’s so-called plans to Islamise Benue State” .

“This nonsense has formed the basis of his campaign, because he has nothing to offer Benue people”.

“The allegations coming from Ortom were particularly unfair, when one considers how much support the governor received from the Federal Government, which supported his grazing laws as a means to end the farmer-herder crises that have plagued the state”.

“If not for President Buhari’s insistence that the governor be given a chance to effect the law, he would have faced resistance from different sources and found it difficult to implement” .

“While advising Ortom to immediately stop his dubious attacks on President Buhari, the Federal Government calls on the people of Benue State to not fall for Ortom’s deception and allow themselves to be hoodwinked by such a negative campaign”.

“They should instead, ask him why he has refused to pay staff salaries and pensions for months, and what he did with the funding from the excess crude account which should ideally have gone towards addressing such payments” .

  • Buhari has performed well in South-East, says Oshiomhole

Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), said on Friday that President Muhammadu Buhari had done substantially well for the South-East to deserve the people’s massive support in the February polls.

Oshiomhole said this at a rally in Umuahia to formally handover the party’s flag to the governorship candidate of the party in Abia, Chief Uche Ogah, as well as the state and National Assembly candidates.

He said that Buhari’s developmental strides in the zone in less than four years of his administration was enough to prove his critics wrong.

He listed the reconstruction of Enugu-Onitsha and Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressways, the construction of the Second Niger Bridge and completion of Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe’s mausoleum in Onitsha, as some of the president’s achievements in the area.

The party’s national chairman therefore urged the people of the zone to vote massively for Buhari’s re-election.

He admonished them not to repeat the mistake they made in 2015, when they allegedly voted against APC.

He further charged them to vote for Ogah and other APC candidates in the polls to ensure the rapid transformation of the state.

He described Ogah as a product of self-effort, industry, creativity and enterprise.

He said, “Ogah is self-made. He is not coming into government to steal your money.

“I’m happy that in Abia we had a direct primary that produced him. It was transparent. I’m proud of him.”

Also, former Gov. Orji Kalu, who is the Abia North Senatorial candidate of APC, said that Abia would give Buhari 70 per cent vote in the Feb. 16 election.

He berated the Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu led-administration for allegedly failing to utilise the state’s resources to transform the state.

Orji decried the poor state of infrastructure in the state, saying that Abia had not witnessed any meaningful development since he left office in 2007.

He expressed the hope that Ogah as a businessman would replicate his success story in his private business in governance, if elected.

In his speech, Ogah, an oil merchant, promised to make the people of Abia happy when elected.

“Abia rejoice! Your light has come and the glory of God has risen upon you,” he said, amidst loud ovations from his teeming supporters at the Umuahia Township Stadium, venue of the rally.

Ealier, Chief Donatus Nwamkpa, the state Chairman of the party, said that APC painstakingly chose credible candidates for all the elective offices in the state.

Nwamkpa assured the people that an APC government would put an end to the sufferings of the people and salvage the state from many years of economic underdevelopment. (NAN)

  • 2019: 1,000 clerics storm Abuja for Buhari’s re-election

Not fewer than one thousand clerics across major faiths in Nigeria today, Thursday stormed Abuja at a grand finale of a rally to endorse President Buhari, this medium has authorititavely gathered from the Unity Fountain, Abuja.
According to the various clerics, President Muhammadu Buhari was anointed to lead the country for eight years, and as such, should be given the necessary support for him to fulfill the prophecy, the National Inter-Faith and Religious Organizations for Peace (NIFROP) has said.
The inter-father group, therefore, called on Nigerians not to disrupt the flow of God’s blessing to the land, rather support the reelection bid of President Buhari, so he could continue running the errand God has sent him.
The National President of NIFROP, Bishop Sundy Garuba, gave this charge on Wednesday in Abuja at the grand rally of 1,000 clerics for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari
According to the cleric, the Buhari-led government has been winning the war against insurgency and should be allowed to continue the task for another four years.
    Parts of his address read.
Before the National Inter-Faith and Religious Organizations for Peace [NIFROP] announced today’s rally sometimes last week, we had been led by the spirit to hold forty days of fasting and prayer.
In the course of this exercise, undertaken on behalf of the nation, it was revealed to us that President Buhari is God’s anointed to lead Nigeria to greater heights. The message we got included the one from the Book of Isaiah 32 “Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice. 2 Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land. 3 Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will give attention. 4 The heart of the hasty will understand and know, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak distinctly. 5 The fool will no more be called noble, nor the scoundrel said to be honorable.”
The Lord revealed to us concerning Nigeria that “(Philippians 1:6) being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
It is in similar fashion that we came to the realization that President Buhari, who began many good things in the interest of Nigeria, will continue to improve on the good things he is doing for the country during his second term in office as ordained by God. We consequently relayed the message to Nigerians not to disrupt the flow of God’s blessing to the land, which requires that the person already anointed to lead the country, in the person of President Buhari, is allowed to continue running the errand God has sent him.
At the end of the forty days of fasting and prayers, we relayed this message to Nigerians so that they will be guided when the time comes to cast their votes. But we have seen that the devil is hard at work trying to get Nigerians to violate the instruction given unto them as to who to elect. It is for this reason that we have decided to rally for President Buhari.
As you can see, we are more than 1000 clerics across faiths and denominations. We are apolitical and only delivered this message concerning President Buhari for it what our maker has collectively instructed us to do and we cannot do otherwise lest we attract wrath unto ourselves.
The unison of 1000 clerics of diverse faiths is something that should prick the interest of Nigerians. But it is not a phenomenon for which we should waste time seeking answers. The leadership style of President Buhari as defender of all faiths, ordained to save our religions, is the source of the newfound cohesion that has toned down the tendency for religion to be the source of strife among communities. The naysayers may argue it but Nigeria is on the way to recording fewer and fewer instances of sectarian strife until the larger population of Nigeria will enjoy the kind of cordial relations we have at NIFROP.
Fortunately, this godly touch is manifesting in other facets of our national life. The corruption that use to be the trademark of Nigeria is now being recognized as an abomination to our creator, something that has been made possible by President Buhari. We are aware that there are those now seeking to return Nigeria to Egypt, back to the days when corruption and theft of public fund was the order of the day. But we are glad that God has identified for us a leader who is mindful of what is written in Deuteronomy (17:16-17) that “The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the Lord has told you, “You are not to go back that way again.” 17 He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.” – (NIV).
In line with the injunctions of our various faiths that require of us to cater for the vulnerable, President Buhari has shown that it is possible to the poor and the needy that they  do not have to live in abject poverty through his social security programmes. Nigerians have seen the possibilities that come with N-Power, School Feeding Programme, Trader Moni, Conditional Cash Transfer and other interventions that are in keeping with the divine instruction not to neglect the needy.
President Buhari, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is striking at the heart of the agents of darkness with the way he has been dealing with Boko Haram terrorists and other criminals that have been trying to make Nigeria the headquarters of darkness. This is a task that must be continued and seen to conclusion and only the man ordained by God will be able to continue this sacred task.
We stand on the revelation given to us by God to declare that as He Decreed, So Shall It Be. We on this note appeal to the electorates to ward off evil from Nigeria by aligning with God’s will by voting President Buhari to continue with the work that has been entrusted to him.
We are aware that the opposition has been making false claims to present themselves as the ones destined to take Nigeria to a greater height and that they can liberate Nigerians but we know this for what it is. Lies of the devil. They are known to the Bible as it is stated in 2 Peter 2:19 that “They promise (Nigerians) them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.” Nigerians must therefore take heed lest they fall the lying tongue that is intent on misleading them to reject God’s choice for them.
The National Inter-Faith and Religious Organizations for Peace [NIFROP] is delivering the message that came from its forty days of fasting and prayer afresh. God has chosen President Buhari as the divine candidate that Nigerians must cast their votes for on February 16. We urge Nigerians to heed the instruction of God and vote for the work of God to be perfected in the country.
  • Buhari will campaign for all APC candidates- Presidency

The Presidency on Sunday maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari will campaign for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) towards the February general elections.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu, however said that that does not mean that Buhari will decline courtesy calls or offers of support from citizens in other parties.

He said: “Following repeated media enquiries on the matter, the Presidency wishes to state in clear and unmistakable terms that as a party leader and a candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming elections, President Muhammadu Buhari will campaign for the party and all its candidates.

“This however does not mean that he, as the nation’s leader, will decline courtesy calls or offers of support from citizens including candidates flying the flags of other parties.

“There is no doubt that the President has no competition here in terms of popularity in the coming elections.

“But the more support he gets, the wider the margin of victory there will be.

“So please let there be no confusion about this. President Buhari is APC.

“He will campaign for all APC candidates, but he welcomes support and endorsements.”

  • Buhari never ordered arrest of Pinnick – Presidency

The Presidency has described as `fake news’ a press release in circulation, to the effect that President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the arrest and prosecution of Amaju Pinnick, the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

A report went viral in social media in the last 24 hours indicating that there were palpable fears in the country’s football family following alleged President Buhari’s directive for the prosecution of Amaju Pinnick, over a litany of corruption allegations levelled against him.

“The allegations which also involved funds embezzlement are in billions of naira,’’ the report quoted.

But, a presidential spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, dismissed the report as untrue and false.

He said: “This is fake news because anyone familiar with the President’s unmitigated and unshakable commitment to the due processes of the law will not make such assumptions of the President.

“The position of the President that allegations of criminal nature should be addressed only by investigation and law enforcement agencies, within the framework of the law has not changed.

“It is not in the nature of President Buhari to say go and arrest that man or woman as formed the practice in the past.

“Rather, he allows all allegations of this nature to be addressed using the mechanism of the rule of law even as law enforcement and investigation agencies should not in any way be hampered in performing their duties.

“At the same time, nobody should drop names to seek to influence the course of those investigations.’’ (NAN)
