    Prime Supporters Club rally support for Unuanel

    The Chairman of Prime FC Supporters Club Association, Alhaji Jelili Olatunde has praised Kwara United’s Coach, Samson Unuanel for still associating himself with the club five years after he left the Oshogbo side.

    Olatunde said this when he and the rest of Prime FC Supporters paid a visit to the Edo born coach at his Oshogbo residence on Wednesday this week.

    Olatunde and the rest of the members said that Unuanel has always been good to them even after leaving Prime FC for other club engagements in the country.

    He also thanked him for all what he did for the team and also the supporters during his time at the club and also prayed for his success at Kwara United.

    Olatunde prayed for a swift return of both Kwara United and Prime FC to the premier league, adding that both clubs do not belong to the lower league at all.

    Coach Unuanel while reacting to the comments of the Prime FC Supporters Club Association Boss thanked them and the management of the team for their usual support.

    The Kwara United opined that Prime FC remains dear to his heart and won’t hesitate to assist whenever called upon to do so in various capacity besides coming over as head coach.

    He nonetheless praised his present employers Kwara United F.C of Ilorin for their usual supports, most especially the good people and goverment of Kwara State for believing in him, and also the fans and supporters of the club.

    Unuanel said his cardinal objective for the season is to return the Afonja Warriors to the elite division at the end of the National League season.

    Prime Football Club has stated their readiness ahead of the new season as the technical crew at the weekend named its final 30-man squad ahead of the 2013/2014 Nigeria National League.

    The chief coach of the Omoluabi Giants, Abimbola Samuel expressed confidence in a statement signed by the club’s spokesman, Tunde Shamsudeen.

    The gaffer said the quality of players at the team’s disposal will help the club to secure one of the promotion tickets to the Globacom Premier League.

    Abimbola, a former Flying Eagles assistant coach, said he and his assistants have no excuses of not getting the needed results desired. He stated further that the confidence shown to him and his assistants by the management, supporters and the good people of the State of Osun will not be regretted as the team has started getting its rhythm.

    “We have the support of the chairman, the board members, the supporters and the good people of the state and I think this will be a season of happiness for Prime.”

    However, the former Sunshine Stars merchant tactician, has hinted that much more work needs to be done with the 30-man squad he has listed.

    The Ogun State-born disciplinarian, said his squad isn’t done yet for the new season, that his crew is working on the unity of the team.

    Prime FC striker, Babatunde Kazeem has said he will not lace boots for the Nigeria National League (NNL) side in the 2013/14 season.

    The former Julius Berger goal king was in the fore front of the Osogbo-based side’s futile promotion campaign in the immediate past NNL Division B.

    Kazeem, who is yet to secure a switch, said he has decided to look beyond the shores of the 2012 Federation Cup bronze winners for greener pasture.

    “Certainly, I won’t play for Prime FC in the new season, I’ve paid my dues for the side in the past seasons and it’s the right time for me to move to another terrain, at least to experience life outside the Osogbo-based side.

    “Though l’m yet to secure another perfect switch to another side, a few offers have come up and more are still likely to come in the days ahead, but nothing has been agreed or decided.

    “So, l’m still available to any side who sincerely and professionally needs my services.

    “I’m careful this time around to agree any term with anybody, l’ll only agree terms with any team once l’m satisfied they’re prepared to do things professionally.

    “I won’t want to head to a side l’ll soon discover is not different from where l’m coming from in all aspects,” said the former Golden Eaglets goal poacher to supersport.com.

    Prime FC recently acquired the services of former Sunshine Stars gaffer, Abimbola Samuel, to guide the side in their promotion campaign in the 2013/14 NNL Division B season.

    Prime FC set Premier League target

    Head coach of Prime of Oshogbo, Samuel Abimbola has revealed that a return to the Glo Premier League is the main target for the club ahead of next season’s campaign in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

    Prime were relegated some seasons ago and have found it difficult to return to the top flight. The club were almost demoted to the Nationwide League last season but stayed afloat after a 1-0 win over Fountain of Ekiti in the final match of the season.

    With the commencement date for the 2013/2014 NNL season not confirmed, Abimbola told SportingLife he is trying to put in place a formidable squad that will withstand the heat in the lower league when it kicks off.

    The former U17 and U20 coach confirmed that Prime would be in the Glo Premier League next season because he had never been associated with failure in his career.

    “Coaches always set targets for themselves. Mine won’t be different. I am trusting in God that Prime will be among the Premier League clubs next season.

    “I am in the process of assembling players that are worth their salt and I will ensure that we have a good squad that will be ready to help me achieve the set target,” Abimbola told SportingLife.

    The management of Prime FC have confirmed Abimbola Samuel as the club’s head coach for the 2013/14 Nigeria National League (NNL)season.

    The Osogbo-based side’s management said they decided to invest their trust and confidence in Samuel due to his penchant and keen eye for emerging talents.

    The former Sunshine Stars gaffer has agreed personal terms and he is expected to sign the dotted line next week and be unveiled after he must have concluded his contractual terms.

    Samuel will be assisted by the former player of Prime FC, Deji Ayeni who last season coached Nigeria Nation-Wide League side, llesha West FC and former Ajiroba Ooni FC coach, Oluwashina Wasiu.

    Former Lobi Stars goalkeeper, Tunji Baruwa and former Gabros FC goalkeeper trainer, Anayo Offor were appointed to oversee the goalkeeping department of the team.

    The chairman of the Omoluabi Giants, Taiwo Ogunjobi confirmed the appointment of the coaches to supersport.com.

    The terms for the newly constituted coaching crew will be formalised next week when the team resume from their one week break.

    Ogunjobi urged the coaches to work hard so as to actualise the team promotion dream to the Glo Premier League.

    The restructuring and repositioning going on in Prime Football Club of Oshogbo, in recent weeks has affected no fewer than 10 players who have been placed on transfer.

    The management committee at their last board meeting on Thursday, decided to placed the players on transfer, for low productivity.

    Prominent among the affected players are former 3SC skipper, Tope Orelope, Osuata Daniel, Tunde Akande, Ayodele Boyin, Olalere Shakiru. Others are former Golden Eaglet winger, Babatunde Kazeem, Kayode Babatunde, Ashanike Sheriff, Victor Festus and Adeniyi Oyeleye.

    The management according to club spokesman, Tunde Shamsudeen, appreciated the efforts of the players dropped and wish them the very best of luck. He also noted that the management opined that if any of the players secure club elsewhere their new team can talk with Prime management for their clearance.

    The management also warned the retained players to be committed and dedicated to the team aspiration or they will be shown the exist door stating that the State of Osun Government is expecting a lot from the team next season.

    Prime FC will not be relegated, says Chairman

    The Chairman, Prime FC of Ogbomoso, Taiwo Ogunjobi, on Wednesday said that the club would not be relegated in spite of its position in the ongoing 2012/2013 Nigeria National League (NNL).

    Ogunjobi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that the club was in the 13th position of the 14-club Division B side of the league.

    NAN reports that two clubs in each of the Divisions A and B of the league would be promoted to the Premiership while two in each of the divisions would be relegated to the Nigerian Nationwide League.

    Ogunjobi, a former Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football Association, said that the club had played 24 of its 27 matches in the league with 31 points.

    The chairman told NAN that, although the position left the club in the relegation zone, it will approach its remaining three matches with utmost zeal to escape relegation.

    “We are doing everything possible to ensure that our standard improves in the remaining matches, at least, to escape relegation. The club will put all its tactics in display to escape relegation; I want the club’s supporters to be at rest and believe that all is well. I know we have a lot in our hands to do in revamping the club. All these are already being looked into,’’ Ogunjobi said.

    According to him, Prime FC will be aiming to secure promotion to the Globacom Premier League next season.

    “The club is aspiring to join the Globacom Premier League in the 2013/2014 season because that is where the club is supposed to be,’’ he said.

    The former secretary-general said that the team performed well in the ongoing NNL in spite of some challenges.

    “I am impressed by the performance of my players so far, and I believe it will get better; our late take off in the league is part of the reasons for our being behind,’’ he said.

    Ogunjobi said that the club would undergo a complete overhaul after escaping relegation.
