    Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State and a revered elder statesman, has shared insights from his 60-year political journey during a meeting with Oloye Saheed Oladele, the Baamẹkọ of Ibadanland and Chairman/CEO of Erudite Group.

    The meeting, which lasted over two hours, offered Oloye Oladele, a gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, an opportunity to engage with one of the party’s most respected figures.

    This interaction came shortly after Oloye Oladele’s visit to the APC National Secretary, Dr. Bashiru Ajibola, in Dubai, and just two days after he provided financial support to over 300 party members, leaders, and supporters across various local governments in Oyo State.

    Although the details of the discussion between Prince Olusi and Oloye Oladele remain undisclosed, the meeting is seen as part of Oloye Oladele’s ongoing efforts to strengthen alliances and garner support ahead of the next political season.

    Prince Olusi, an influential politician with deep ties to Lagos State politics, is known for his influence within the APC and his role in shaping the political landscape of the state over the decades.

    President Bola Tinubu has described Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Tajudeen Olusi, as a mentor who has groomed many generations of political leaders.

    The President spoke at a reception dinner in Lagos in honour of Prince Olusi following his conferment of an Honourary Doctor of Literature in History, Education and Community Development by the Lagos State University (LASU).

    Tinubu, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Tunde Rahman, said Prince Olusi remains tireless in the development of his community and Lagos State as a whole, and a repository of wisdom.

    First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu described Prince Olusi as ‘Mr Consistent’ for his wisdom and support for progressive leadership.

    Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described Prince Olusi as a leader who speaks truth to power and shows younger politicians the way to go.

    According to the Governor, the celebrant has led various political parties for about 60 years and so he is worth celebrating.

    Governor Sanwo-Olu said Prince Olusi had been committed to the development of Lagos State, ensuring that the different arms of government work harmoniously for the progress of the state.

    Dignitaries at the event also included the Speaker of the Houseof Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, other state and national lawmakers, associates and family members of the celebrant.

    Prince Olusi is a former councilor, member of the House of Representatives, Lagos State Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and later National Vice Chairman of the ACN.

    Musical play adaptation of Prince Olusi’s childhood premieres

    A musical play adaptation depicting the childhood of Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi has premiered at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

    The remarkable event was not only a celebration of the humble and vibrant life of Prince Olusi, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s healthiest men, but also a heartfelt tribute to children battling cancer and cancer survivors.

    In conjunction with the musical premiere, the event marked the official launch of a global childhood cancer awareness campaign in Nigeria. The initiative aims to educate parents on the reality that children can develop cancer but can also fight it successfully before reaching the age of five. Additionally, the campaign seeks to raise funds to cover the medical expenses of children living with cancer.

    Prince Tajudeen Olusi, 83, a distinguished political leader and son of the late Oba of Lagos, King Sanusi Olusi, continues to influence the political landscape of Lagos State profoundly. Born into the esteemed Olusi royal family, Prince Tajudeen has dedicated his life to public service and political leadership.

    During his opening remarks, Prince Olusi expressed profound gratitude to the youth for organising such a memorable event. He highlighted the importance of the elderly in guiding and educating the younger generation. Reflecting on his own upbringing, Prince Olusi shared memories of losing his father at a young age and being raised by his brothers.

    He reminisced about his time as an “AKOBATA,” a term used for children who accompanied their elders to meetings, helping them with their shoes and learning from their wisdom.

    Prince Olusi emphasised the importance of parents teaching their children about Yoruba culture, underscoring the value of preserving cultural heritage and wisdom through generations.

    Gracing the event were several royal dignitaries including Oba Adewale Abdul Olofin Ajaye of Orugbo-Iddo, Oba Dr Oyekan Adekanmi Ajose, the third the Alapa of Apa Kingdom, Hon Yaya Adeniyi Dosumu a former chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government.
