    Today’s edition of Glo-sponsored TV Drama series,  Professor Johnbull  comes  up with Chika Okpala aka Zebrudayah of New Masquerade  making a cameo appearance where he supports Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo) in condemning the activities of slay Queens who specialises in going after frivolities instead of substance.

    Titled ”Pepper Dem Gang” the episode highlights the activities of slay queens who use dirty  acts to attain their status in the society. They lead fake lifestyle and deceive people about their real identity.

    Professor Johnbull in his characteristic style counsels ladies to live decently, urging them to be proud of themselves. He condemns the concept of slay queen, wondering why most ladies adopt more than one birthday dates in a year; why most of them lack basic idea of the image they portray and why slay queens adopt different appellations from the names given to them at birth.

    Viewers will find Pepper Dem Gang interesting as it dissects the issue of unhealthy rivalry among ladies. It also answers questions on connotative and denotative meanings ofslay queens, the relationship between slay queen and Nigerian culture and whether the fake life styles of slay queens tally with their intelligence.

     Viewers will find out the reaction of Flash (Stephen Odimgbe) when he is called upon  to defend Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko) against one of the biggest slay queens acted by Ese Eriata, one of the fake housemates in the last episode of the reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria (BBN).

    Pepper Dem Gang comes up on NTA Network, NTA International on DSV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday with a repeat broadcast on Friday at the same time and on the same channels.

    Prof. Johnbull draws attention to cyberspace anonymity

    The new episode of the Television Drama Series, Professor Johnbull, sponsored by, Globacom, draws viewers’ attention to the negative side of the anonymity of the cyberspace where fraudsters hide to scam unsuspecting Nigerians

    The episode entitled Fake Accounts dramatises how scammers clone the online accounts of known celebrities and send spurious requests and chats to members of the public, especially the celebrity freaks, and fleece them off their hard earned money.

    Celebrity hip hop singer, Korede Bello’s account is cloned by a scammer, who dupes Mai Doya (Funky Mallam) to the tune of N100,000, just as Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko), who is in the process of being duped by a fake Olamide, and Flash (Stephen Odimgbe) pay the sum of N50,000 to a fake Personal Assistant to a cloned TV goddess, NadiaBuhari.

    The series’ restaurateur, Olaniyi (Yomi Fash Lanso), is however lucky as a scammer who posts a beautiful female picture on the internet as a prospective lover gives himself out when he requests for money but providentially sends a male account number.

    The highlight of Fake Accounts is the cameo appearance of Korede Bello, who explains internet fraud ”cat fish”, a street lingo used by scammers to describe their victims, and warns members of the public to be wary of who they hook up with on the internet.

    Conscience of the series, Professor Johnbull, acted by the Nollywood legend, Kanayo O. Kanayo, warns that celebrities are normal people and wonders why a celebrity willcontact anyone to ask for financial assistance. He also warns against fake  Fund Me Accounts.

    The episode comes on air on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m. on NTA Network NTA International on STV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes with a repeat broadcast on Friday on the same TV channels and time.

    Glo-sponsored Prof. Johnbull  seeks true love in courtship

    This week on “Professor Johnbull”, the TV drama series sponsored by Globacom, the need for appropriate behaviour and conduct for young folks in love relationship or courtship takes centre stage.

    Entitled Meal Ticketthe new episode takes viewers on a voyage in moral lesson for would-be couples as the omniscient Professor Johnbull, the lead character in the Series, played by the Nollywood veteran, Kanayo O. Kanayo, KOK,  gives a homily on the ideal courtship.

    In the episode, Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko), dumps her boyfriend, Flash (Stephen Odimgba) for insolvency and goes after an impostor, who drives a car owned by another girlfriend. The bubble burst on them when the girlfriend finds out that her parasitic lover boy has been feeding off her and abandons him to Jumoke.

    Meal Ticket dramatizes a typical courtship in which the female partners see and regard their male friends as their ATM machine who should be responsible for all their needs, lock, stock and barrel, without any intention of becoming independent and responsible self-worth ladies.

    Conversely, the episode presents the flip side, where some young men, whom Professor Johnbull describes as “fine-boy-six-packs with no ambition to be responsible” take undue advantage of innocent hardworking and generous ladies to feed off them all in the name of love.

     

     

  • Prof. Johnbull focuses on families’ upkeep

    Footing family bills between husbands and wives is the theme of this week’s episode of Professor Johnbull, the television satire sponsored by the grandmasters of data, Globacom.

    In the episode entitled: “Breadwinner”, the TV drama series uses the Peters family as an exemplar of the hassles, heartaches and tension dogging the average Nigerian family in these hard times, which predispose families to share footing family expenses to stay afloat economically.

    In the satire, Mrs. Peters happens to be the one shouldering the financial responsibilities of the family due to Mr. Peters being retrenched at his work place.

    Nigerians would be availed the knowledge and experience of the avuncular  Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo) in his thesis on the topic and the unraveling of the plot as the scenes unfold.

    Professor Johnbull airs at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays on NTA Network, NTA international on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes, “Breadwinner” is a voyage in marriage counseling as the lead character in the Series, Professor Johnbull, takes time to advise successful wives on proper behaviour whenever they find themselves as breadwinners in their families.

    The omniscient academic posits that female breadwinners should not be overbearing as what matters in a home is not who provides the ‘bread’ but the love which exists between the man and the woman. He  counsels women who are more successful than their husbands to treat them with dignity.

    “Breadwinner” foregrounds posers like ‘should a woman earn more than the man?’, ‘Who should be the financial manager in the home?’, ‘Should a woman quit a high-paying job to please her husband?’ and ‘Why are men threatened by the level of success attained by their wives?’

    Apart from Kanayo O Kanayo, other acts, who feature in drama include the new entrants, Ndi (Angela Okorie), Jeroboam (Osita Iheme), Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso), Samson (Ogus Baba), Abadnego (Martins Nebo) and Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko).

     

     

  • Prof. Johnbull to expose child labour dangers

    GLOBACOM, sponsor of the television drama series, Professor Johnbull, has announced that the sitcom will, this week, unravel the dangers in child labour, child trafficking and street hawking by school-age children rampant in the country.

    The latest episode of the satire entitled: “Street School” re-enacts sundry ways through which children, minors and other school-age adolescents are abused with a view to sensitising the public to the plight of the victims.

    “Street School” projects how these minors are lured from their homes, especially in the villages, to the cities with the mouthwatering promise of greener pastures and continuation of their education, only to be turned to house-helps and street hawkers by their masters, who renege on all the promises and subject them to all sorts of inhuman treatment.

    The episode, billed for broadcast on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes at 8.30 p.m. today, equally highlights some of the negative consequences of child labour such as exposing the children to dangers of road accidents, sexual and physical abuse and deprivation, which make the victims to become inferior to their age mates who they see daily go to school while they hawk.

     

  • Glo’s Prof. Johnbull kicks against discrimination

    Professor Johnbull, the Glo-sponsored TV Drama Series will this week focus on genetic flaws in people and the attendant discriminations they suffer in society.

    The erudite professor is calling on people to embrace the physically-challenged in the society.

    Titled ‘Not One of Us’, the sitcom comes up on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes, tomorrow by 8.30 pm, with  a repeat broadcast at the same time and on the same channels on Friday.

    Globacom, in statement said the “new episode aptly titled ‘Not One of Us’ is a wakeup call to all on the need for us to show not just respect to those with genetic flaws, but to most importantly regard them as normal human beings and accord them the decent treatment they deserve”.

    The statement assured viewers that “they will find the episode emotional, challenging and, more importantly, educating, as the crew collectively disabuse the misconceptions surrounding the physically challenged in society”.

    Viewers will find answers to the following pertinent questions and others in ‘Not One of Us’: Is a man’s intellectual ability measured by the size of his body? Do dwarfs and albinos possess any magical power as many believe? Does Flash possess any positive quality besides his rascally postures?

  • Prof. Johnbull parades Mama G, Akintola, others in Episode Six

    The sixth episode of the hilarious TV drama series, Professor Johnbull, will parade some of Nigeria’s most accomplished stars as it treats issues of marriage and dating.

    Some stars, who will appear in the episode: Half bread and Puff-puff, in addition to the usual characters, are Mama G who plays the role of Madam Christiana, Sani Danja as the lover boy, Malik, and the delectable Bimbo Akintola who stars as Ufuoma.

    In the show, sponsored by Globacom, the episode unravel the meanings of Puff-puff and half bread, shedding light on how desperate young girls cope in their effort to win a man’s heart.

    Akintola (Ufuoma) and Bidemi Kosoko (Jumoke) will fight over a Spain-based casanova, Malik, played by Danja. Viewers would be interested to know who wins the fight.

    What is Mama G’s role in all this? How will Professor Johnbull see and react to this development?
