    Foundation lauds don on trailblazing feat in Saudi varsity

    The leadership of Amanatullah Legacy Foundation (ALEF) has congratulated Professor Abdul Ghani Isa Oyarekhua on his promotion to a distinguished position of Professor in Linguistics at the Islamic University of Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    Executive Director, ALEF, Barr. Umar Musa Ikhilor, in a statement made available to reporters in Abuja said this remarkable feat, which is well deserved, accentuates his accomplishments.

    He said Prof Oyarekhua’ was is “a beacon of pride for us at ALEF, our alma mater (the Islamic Centre Afikpo), Nigeria and the entire African continent.”

    He said with this development, Nigeria has produced Africa’s first Professor of Linguistics at the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia with Professor Oyarekhua who is from Edo State.

    Ikhilor said being the first African to attain such an honour is a testament to his knack for “scholarly excellence, dedication to intellectual erudition, and the profound impact of the education provided by our father, teacher and mentor, Sheikh Muhammad Amanatullah (rahimahu-Llah).”

    He said it was with immense joy that they celebrated Oyarekhua’s success and take pride in the fact that he is a product of the esteemed Sheikh Amanatullah, in whose honour the Amanatullah Legacy Foundation was established.

    “Your resilience, commitment to knowledge acquisition and dissemination, and passion for scholarly development exemplify the values instilled in us in Afikpo. With over 50 books in Arabic language and Islamic sciences translated between Arabic and English languages, and over 50 workshops and training courses attended globally, your invaluable contributions to the frontiers of knowledge and Islamic scholarship continue to serve as an inspiration to fellow alumni of our alma mater, academic colleagues, scholars, aspiring linguists, and the young and upcoming generation.

    “We pray this feat catalyzes your paths to greater heights, and we believe your brilliance will birth more groundbreaking research and the nurturing of future linguists and Islamic leaders.

    “We wish you continued success in your academic endeavours and look forward to witnessing the indelible mark you will undoubtedly leave on the path of Islam and your chosen field. Once again, congratulations! BaarakAllahu feeh,” he said.

    He said Oyarekhua is Professor of Arabic Linguistics at the Faculty of Arabic Language and Humanities.
