  • FCMB rewards promo winners with cash, gift prizes

    First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has given cash and gift prizes to 2,576 winners in the its “Millionaire Promo Season 5”.

    The promo, designed to reward and empower customers, ran from March to October this year with four regional and zonal draws, including the grand finale, on November 28.

    Of the 2,576 winners, 16 lucky customers won cash ranging from N1 million to N2 million, while the remaining 2,560 were rewarded with LED televisions, generating sets, decoders, tablets and smart phones.

    At the grand finale draws of the ”FCMB Millionaire Promo Season 5” on November 28, four customers smiled home with N2 million each, just as 640 others received gift items.

    The promo which targeted all existing savings account customers of FCMB with monthly account balance ranging from N10,000.00 to N50,000.00, was designed to give extra value and empowerment to customers of the Bank, while encouraging financial inclusion and savings culture.

    Idi Awawu emerged winner of the star prize of N2million at the Abuja & North regional draw in Abuja, while Simeon Olanrewaju got the same amount at the Lagos Regional Draws held in Otta, a town between Lagos and Ogun state.

    In the same vein, Obioma Uzonwunne was the lucky winner of N2 million at the South-East & South-South Regional draws in Asaba, Delta state and Ajani Mayowa won the same amount at the South-West Regional draws in Akure, Ondo state.

    Speaking on the development, the winners expressed gratitude to FCMB for creating opportunities to reward and empower customers through the Millionaire Promo.

    In his comment, a Director of the Consumer Protection Council, Dauda Waja, hailed the Bank for conducting the exercise with integrity and transparency.

    Speaking on the promo, the Executive Director, Retail Banking of FCMB, Olu Akanmu, said with the grand finale of the draws held nationwide, the bank has fulfilled the promise it made to customers to reward those who participated and qualified for the promo and participated in the four draws organised during the exercise.

    Nestle Nigeria Plc has rewarded consumers with  N15 million in its ‘NESCAFE get started’ promotion.

    Three lucky consumers won N1million, while others won in the categories of N500, 00 0, N250, 000 and consolation prizes of N100, 000.

    One of the winners, an Abuja-based trader, Mrs. Olabisi Arogundade, said her daughter used her phone to enter for the promo, which eventually got her the highest prize of N1million.

    Also, winning N1million was Olawole Matthew, a medical student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, who said he takes the product when studying for exams. “It keeps me awake and refreshes and energizes my memory,” he said.

    Speaking during the prize presentation at the Nestle Plc’s Ilupeju Office, Lagos, Brand Manager for NESCAFE, Omofasa Orhiunu, said the promotion was designed to reward loyal consumers who have over the years patronised the brand to keep its leadership position in the market.

    He said though people could be sceptical of the genuineness of promotions of this kind, the presentation would put paid to such doubts.

    ”You know as Nigerians we are very sceptical about things like this, when you call a consumer and say you have won N1million, the consumer receives the message with doubt. Consumers do not really believe in promos, but this will definitely change their perception about promotions,” he said.

The lender’s ongoing Millionaires’ Promo remains an opportunity for it to reward its loyal customers with cash and consolation prizes. The suspense that greeted the promo draw held in Ekiosa market in Benin City, the Edo State after a winner got N1 million cash prize reaffirmed the integrity of the exercise, writes COLLINS NWEZE.

    For Skye Bank Plc, customer empowerment remains a priority. The lender has continued to reward its loyal customers with cash and consolation prizes running into millions of naira in the ongoing Skye Millionaire promo.

    The drama and suspense that greeted the recent draw of the promo will remain evergreen in the minds of the crowd that gathered at the busy Ekiosa market in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

    As the savings account number, name and phone number flashed on the giant electronic board mounted where the previous consolatory cash and other prize winners had been shown, the crowd hailed the winner, Mrs. Eunice Odubor, an Inspector with the Civil Defence Corp, from Ishan but resident in Benin City.

    She picked her call and confirmed her identity. She sounded hesitant despite the shout of joy by the crowd. Apparently, the lucky winner found the news of her emergence rather laughable.

    The 48-year-old widow praised  Skye Bank for the reward, noting that after the death of her husband three years ago, things had been very rough for her and her four kids, one of whom had dropped out from school on account of lack of funds. But now with N1 million richer, she wants to push for her son to continue his education and also buy a land to start a building project.

    Elated Mrs. Odubor, who could not hold back tears expressed her gratitude to Skye Bank for the money and promised to tell others to bank with the bank. She said: “part of the amount will be invested in the education of my child who had dropped out of the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma due to lack of money.”

    She noted with emphasis that Skye Bank has never for a day deducted money from her savings account and she has never contemplated ever switching to another bank even when some of her colleagues were thinking of doing so at some point. “I told them NO,” she stated emphatically.

    Forty other lucky winners across Nigeria also went home with various cash gifts ranging between N20,000 and N100,000.

    The Obazelu of Benin Kingdom, Chief Osaro Idah, who praised the efforts of the bank for encouraging savings culture in Nigeria and for giving equal opportunities to customers to get a chance to win in the on-going Reach for the Skye millionaire reward promo, said that, he was very impressed with the great steps taken by the financial institution to make life beautiful for the people.

    “I am also particularly happy that the winner is our own daughter and I believe that she will use the money to do well in our state, helping other people to live well and get better.     Diamond Bank Plc yesterday unveiled season 10 of the DiamondXtra promo in which over N433 million will be won by customers.

    Its Head of Mass Market Segment, Osita Ede, said the bank is excited because it has successfully run the DiamondXtra  promo for nine seasons, and this is the 10th season for the promo.

    “And for us, it is an opportunity to continue touching lives of Nigerians. People have been giving reports about how the promo has impacted positively on their lives. We monitor and advise the winners on how to make best use of the fund,” he said.

    He said the bank conducted surveys in during which it found new areas of interest to savers. “We did not add things, but have done surveys and found out that people wanted accommodation, education and so on. We have therefore included some of these solutions, including education grants where winners will take N100,000 monthly for five years.We are being careful about giving winners huge money at once. The rent advance is just N1 million once,” he said.

    Leading shaving brand in Nigeria, BIC I Shaver, has rewarded its customers with two Mitsubishi Space Star cars, generators and other consolation prizes in the just concluded BIC I Shave and Realise Your Dream promo.

    The grand finale of the three-month promo was held in Ikeja, the Lagos State capital, where Miss Blessing Ogwuzu and Mr. Bassey Effiong were the grand prize winners of the two Mitsubishi Space Star cars.

    Television sets, refrigerators, mobile phones were among the consolation prizes the participants won.

    Fidelity Bank Plc  has rewarded its savings account customers with gifts and cash prizes worth millions of naira. The winners emerged from the lender’s first draw in its ongoing “Get Alert in Millions promo”, where it is expected to give out N105 million at the end of the exercise.

    Speaking at the opening ceremony in Lagos, its  Managing Director/CEO, Nnamdi Okonkwo, said the promo, the sixth in a series, would help to deepen the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) financial inclusion project and improve the standard of living of its customers.

    He said winners went home with N9 million cash prizes and several consolation prizes. The star prize winner, Abiche Mary, won N3 million while Umar Yahaya, Ogadimma Jacintha, Damilola Olufemi won N1 million each. Consolation prizes of refrigerators, generating sets were also won.

    He said the bank, as a highly reputable financial institution, is committed to satisfying the needs of its customers, with the promo meant to encourage customers and members of the public to imbibe a savings culture.

    “There is a correlation between savings and economic development. Savings serve as a veritable instrument for capital mobilisation to finance aggregate investment required for economic growth. As an active participant in the Nigerian economy, we are supporting the federal government by making savings available for critical infrastructure deployments that would aid socio-economic development,” he said.

    Okonkwo, who was represented by the bank’s Executive Director, Shared Services and Products, Chijioke Ugochukwu, said: “In all, over 200 winners will emerge inclusive of consolation prizes such as fridges, generators among others”.

    “It is so easy, just open a savings account and grow it to N20, 000 or top up existing account with N10, 000 or more to qualify for monthly draws to win up to N3 million. You can also grow your account balance by N50, 000 monthly to qualify for quarterly draws to win star prize of N5 million,” he said.

    United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has rewarded 80 of its customers in the first batch of its Remittance Awoof Promo.

    The draws, which was well attended by customers of the bank, regulators from the National Lottery, is part of the bank’s efforts to reward loyalty, give back to the society and impact the lives of individuals that carry out business with the bank.

    At the draws in Lagos at the weekend, saw 20 winners, 10 each of Western Union and MoneyGram, were drawn and will be enjoying a three-day all expenses paid trip to Dubai, sponsored by the bank.

    The winners emerged from customers and non-customers that sent and received MoneyGram and Western Union money transfers at the bank within the period of January and August this year.

    The 10 winners for the Dubai Trip that received money through MoneyGram are; Anyim Okorie of Lagos, Aneke Emeka of Enugu, Linda Dede of Sapele; Samuel Diei of Asaba, Olatokunbo Olaleye of Kano State; Harris Adeniyi from Ife, Oluwatosan Nicol from University of Lagos (UNILAG), Abiodun Fakeye from Lagos Island, Ibisobia Hezekiah from Port Harcourt and Alofe Tope from Ibadan.

    From Western Union,  the 10 winners are Omeregie Osadebamwen Peter from Benin, Benita Ojeh from Asaba, Richard Ojo from Iju, Ndidi Ojukwu from Port Harcourt, Ime Davis from Ikot Abasi and Osahon Idugboe of Ugbowo. Others are Ibrahim Sunusi from Kano, Oluwabukola Owoeye from UNILAG, Alali Blessing from Port Harcourt, and Itunu Fakiyesi from Ogbomosho.

    Also, 60 customers won 20 rechargeable fans, 20 generating sets and 20 water dispensers. The 60 customers represented an equal number of Western Union and MoneyGram customers.

    One of the winners, Mr. Ibrahim Salisu, a UBA customer from Kano, expressed his joy and gratitude to the bank when he was informed of his winnings through the phone. “I am very happy at this opportunity, I still do not know what to say, but I am very grateful to UBA,’’ he said.

    The bank’s Head of Marketing and Brand Communication, Ikemefuna Mordi, expressed appreciation to customers for their loyalty and trust in the bank, adding that the promo was carried out to add value to customers, who continued to do business with the bank.

    The winners of the Sterling Bank Gunners promo, Messrs Oseni Tajudeen Adekunle and Segun Oghe John who travelled to London last weekend to watch the match between Arsenal and Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium, courtesy of Sterling Bank Plc have commended the Bank for its role in the development of sports in Nigeria.     The two lucky winners are among the five winners picked at the promo draw held at the Sterling Towers, the Bank’s corporate head office in Lagos to watch the Arsenal versus Aston Villa match. The three who could not make the trip due to personal reasons are Oduntan Femi Abimbola, Tamunokubie Tamunobarao and Obi Blessing Uwachukwu. They will be compensated by the Bank in the like sum.
