    ‘We’ve committed $100m to train public leaders,

    The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has said it has committed $100 million to train 3000 public leaders.

     Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede spoke at the graduation of the third cohort of public servants from AIG Public Leaders Programme (PLP) class of 2023 in Abuja.

    Aig-Imoukhuede said leaders who have the skills and abilities to drive reform and make transformation are needed in the public sector.

     He noted that the graduates are a step towards building an Africa that can extricate itself from underdevelopment with capable and empowered public servants.

     To date, he said the foundation has trained over 700 public servants through capacity-building initiatives.

     This, he said, it’s a testament to the foundation’s dedication to nurturing a generation of public servants.

     He said: ‘’We made a big commitment of $100 million over a certain period of time to train up to 3000 public leaders at world class training level. So we work with the University of Oxford, the Blavatnik School of Government amongst others and we arrange training in Nigeria here.

     “We also send West African public sector employees to Oxford University for a Master’s in Public Policy, when we find Africans who have really excelled we also send them for fellowships, and we also train Permanent Secretaries…’’
