Firm denounces false claims about housing estates

The Managing Director of PWAN Plus Business Concerns Ltd, Prof. Julius Oyedemi has refuted allegations made by social media influencer, Scott Iguma, over the ownership and allocation of land in Cedarwood Park and Cedarwood Gardens estates.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, Oyedemi described Iguma’s viral video posted on June 17, 2025, as “reckless, malicious, and injurious,” stating that the influencer’s claims were based on misinformation and lacked any factual basis.

In the video, Iguma allegedly accused PWAN of defrauding customers in the Cedarwood Estate in Ibeju-Lekki by issuing receipts without allocating land.

He cited a case involving a man who allegedly bought land from PWAN in 2014, died in 2019 without allocation, and whose family has since been denied both access to the land and a refund.

In a voice recording played by Iguma, the deceased’s family member claimed PWAN acknowledged the transaction in 2022 but failed to follow up despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue.

The family, according to Iguma, further alleged that they were denied entry into PWAN’s office on subsequent visits.

Responding, Oyedemi dismissed the accusations, stating that Cedarwood Park and Cedarwood Gardens — comprising 200 and 300 plots respectively — were duly acquired and introduced to the market in 2017 and 2018 after proper verification of title and freedom from government acquisition.

“The landowners—the Olorunishola and Alonge families—were fully paid, and deeds of assignment and Form 1C were executed,” he stated, adding that changes in government policy later affected excision applications, prompting the inclusion of the estates in the Idera Private Developers’ Scheme.

Despite these challenges, Oyedemi said over 50% of subscribers had been duly allocated plots before the policy change, and 75% have since been either reallocated to other estates or fully refunded.

“PWAN Plus has never sold land with only receipts. We provide survey plans and deeds of assignment, and many of our clients have commenced construction,” he asserted.

He noted that from 2023 to 2025, the company allocated 4,234 plots to 2,304 clients across Lagos, Aba, Asaba, and Owerri, and over 10,000 plots between 2017 and 2022. Legal documentation for all sales, he said, is either completed or ongoing.

To improve transparency, PWAN Plus launched the Subscribers Education Series (SES)—a virtual platform where clients are updated on estate development and title processing.

“This press conference is not only to correct the misinformation but to reassure our clients and stakeholders of our commitment to integrity and service excellence,” Oyedemi concluded.
