The Osun State Governor, Orangun Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin and the Centre for Women’s Health and Information (CEWHIN) have cautioned against settling rape and violence against women and girls with disabilities at the palaces and family meetings.
The stakeholders at the institutionalizing of the Community Task Force and Sign-Off of the Technical Action and Sustainability Plan on Prevention and Response to Women and Girls With Disabilities held in Osogbo agreed on the caution.

The Attorney General of Osun State, Jimi Bada who was represented by Senior Legal Adviser, Debo Oladinni noted that the state will prosecute any perpetrator who stigmatises and discriminates against women and girls with disabilities.
“We will uphold the Technical Action /Sustainability Plan (TASP) which identified several key challenges to ending violence against women and girls with disabilities in Osun State.“
Oba Abolarin urged other monarchs to desist from assuming the roles of security agencies and government in handling rape cases in their domains.
The Director of CEWHIN, Atinuke Odukoya explained the aim of the plan and intended goals of the technical action, saying “The sign-off is committed to ensuring that the state is safe for women and girls with disabilities, so they are not abused sexually, violently, physically or otherwise.”
