Kano Pillars defender, Rashid Alassan has dedicated his match-winning goal against El-Kanemi Warriors to the club’s passionate supporters for their unwavering support and warm reception to him since he joined the team.
The Ghanaian centre-back powered home a bullet header from Abdullahi Ali’s free kick, securing a crucial 2-1 victory for Sai Masu Gida in the rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/25 Matchday 20 fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Wednesday.

Speaking to the club’s Media & Communications Directorate, Rashid expressed his delight at scoring in front of the home fans, describing the moment as special.
“It’s a massive moment for me, scoring in front of our wonderful fans who have supported us from the first whistle. I dedicate this goal to them,” he told the club’s media.
The goal marked Rashid’s second of the season since joining the four-time Nigerian champions, having previously found the net against Katsina United similarly.
The victory moves the Pyramid City side to 9th place on the NPFL table as they prepare to host Abia Warriors on Saturday for their Matchday 24 encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata.
