He charged the youths to remain focused in order to maximise their potentials.
“The tournament is a drive to discover and develop talents from the competition. Success begins with a step, these young talents have the opportunity to make a career for themselves if they so desired,” he said. “Everything is a choice, we have provided the platform, our intention is to support them and make them stay in the right path.”
Also expressing the rationale behind the competition, coordinator of the football event, Assistant Pastor Bola Orekoya, said: “What the competition is all about is to discover youths that have talents from the grassroots. We are looking at a competition like the Principals’ Cup played by the secondary school students.
“The junior students don’t have such competition, so what happens if they are talented? How are they exposed and how are they discovered? So, we are using this opportunity to unearth budding talents.”
