  • Renmoney takes tech to Lagos public schools

    Fintech Company, Renmoney, has partnered with Ingentes Technologies to teach public school pupils about computer programming.

    The initiative titled, ‘’Tech for the Streets’’ exposes secondary school pupils to technology by teaching them basic coding and providing them with tips on how to succeed in the Nigerian technology space.

    Pupils of IIupeju Senior Secondary School were the first beneficiary of the initiative which featured  Renmoney’s Information Technology Manager, Adija Uzodinma, as one of the facilitators.

    Adija underscored the importance of getting tech savvy to the pupils.

    “Technology skills cannot be ignored today as people who learn even basic technology skills are often viewed as more qualified for complex, higher income roles. I think it is important that every child, no matter what career path they choose, should have at least one digital/technology skill,” he said.

    Oluwatobi Boshoro, Renmoney’s CEO said the firm was happy about the partnership.

    “We are really happy to partner with Ingentes Technologies for this initiative because there is a real need to provide a platform where young minds can learn the basics from practising professionals and be mentored to make good career choices,” he said.

    Under the initiative, pupils learn to use Excel, Corel Draw and basic programming among many others.

  • Renmoney deploys software to improve customer engagement

    Renmoney, a financial technology firm, has deployed Freshworks customer engagement software to improve customer relationship management. Renmoney provides convenient loans, savings and fixed deposit products to Nigerians.

    Last year, Renmoney delivered over 95,000 loans to individuals and small businesses via its website, contact centre, agent network and branches. The interactions across multiple channels created complexities that made it challenging to maintain a holistic view of each customer.

    Freshworks customer engagement software provides Renmoney with a comprehensive view of customers contacting the business and a platform to leverage that information to personalise customer interactions across all channels. Before the integration, Renmoney relied on multiple tools for customer support and was looking to transition to one dedicated and dependable support and CRM tool.

    “Using multiple solutions to handle customer data was significantly affecting our ability to scale and serve more customers. We needed a solution that would meet our needs without introducing complexity,” said Oluwatobi Boshoro, CEO of Renmoney. “With Freshworks, we have readily available CRM data which will allow us achieve best-in-class customer support.

  • RenMoney MFB repositions

    Consumer finance providers, RenMoney Microfinance Bank, has embarked on a programme of re-organisation to position it for growth and sustained market leadership into the future.

    According to  its Head of Legal and Compliance, Ighiwi Erhahon, the firm has, as part of this process, recruited some highly experienced people into very senior positions. Some of these appointments will be formally announced as soon as they are approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

    Internally, RenMoney’s focus is on simplifying operations and policies in line with its vision to be the most convenient lending company in the country.

    RenMoney Microfinance Bank started operations as RenCredit in 2012, under a unit Microfinance Banking License in Ikoyi, Lagos.

    In December 2013, RenCredit MFB Limited was re-branded to RenMoney MFB Limited – the name by which it is known today. RenMoney provides convenient lending, fixed deposits and target savings account.

    RenMoney upgraded to a state license to better serve customers in Lagos State. The company now operates out of five branches – Ikoyi, Ikeja, Surulere, Lagos Island and Ikota.
