Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for dedicating his entire life to enhancing the well-being of Nigerians and Africans, particularly those in West African regions.
In a heartfelt speech at Government House Makurdi during the inauguration of Gubernatorial Liaison Officers (GLO) in the 23 Local Government areas, Governor Alia, who accompanied President Tinubu on a trip to France at the invitation of the French president, urged Nigerians to appreciate the President’s speeches during the two-day visit, which he said were for the country’s benefit.
“Nigerians must appreciate Mr. President for putting his entire life into ensuring their comfort, especially during this period of hardship,” Alia stated.
The Benue Governor also disclosed that his administration has allocated #15 billion to support the Federal Government’s food palliative programme.
According to Governor Alia, “Benue State, as the Food Basket of the Nation should have no business receiving food palliative from the Federal Government, as such, I have set aside the sum #15B to support the federal government by sending free food to some states “
He said Benue state ranks number one in yams and soybeans production and his administration has initiated a program to encourage young farmers to boost food production by granting them soft loans.
The Governor stated that his administration is working very hard to improve the lives of the people just like President Tinubu is doing the same at the Federal level, which is in line with the All Progressive Congress (APC), manifesto and called on those with progressive ideas to bring them forward for the development of Benue state.
