    Royal Iwere Foundation, partners train students on entrepreneurial skills

    Royal Iwere Foundation has partnered with Junior Achievement Africa and Nigeria to train students drawn from  different secondary schools  in Warri South Local Government area of Delta state, in entrepreneurial skills program. 

    The programme, which took place on Monday at the palace of His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Warri,  Ogiame Atuwatse III, was well attended by dignitaries including the various principles of the  selected secondary  schools.

    In her address at the programme titled:” Set4LYf ,”  the wife of Ogiame Atuwatse III, Her Royal Majesty Olori Ogiame Atuwatse III said the motive of partnering with Junior Achievement Africa –  Set4LYf  is to  train young  people especially girls on  entrepreneurial skills for workforce readiness and economic development.

     According to her, if somebody is set for life, it means, the person has been embolden with what would give the person success in life.

     She said, through the programme, the girls are trained to change the economy and transform their communities adding that the programme  is made accessible to the girls irrespective of their  backgrounds.

    She said:” The key motive in partnering with Junior Achievement Africa – Set4LYf is to train women of tomorrow today. Every girl, no matter where she comes from, deserves to determine where she is going”. 

    “We refuse to wait until our girls become women before we nurture their potentials. We know, in Iwere Foundation, women empowement is one of our core pillars.”

    She charged the girls to take  the programme seriously and as  their future  investment saying,  many of them have already dreamt of becoming better person in future. 

    The Royal Majesty Olori Ogiame Atuwatse III assured the girls that they can make it in  life irrespective of their parental backgrounds: profession:  so long as they make the right decision(s). 

    She said, after the programme, the girls can become the Chief Executive Officers  of establishment who can impact positively in their community, uplift and transform the needy in the society. 

    She said:” We partner with these people to  set  you for life so that, truly, so that you can become Chief Executive Officers, so that you can uplift the needy, so that, you can go back to your community and actually transform lives”.

    While expressing gratitude  to  Chief Executive Officer/ President,  Junior Achievement  Africa, Mrs Simi Nwogugu and Executive Director, Junior Achievement Nigeria, Ugonna Achebe for partnering and launching the programme in Warri, apart from Abuja, the FCT and Kogi State, she  thanked the  Principals  of the various  secondary  schools who  were  able to make their students available  for the programme. 

    She promised to always support the duo of Mrs Nwogugu and Achebe to make the programme successful in the kingdom.

    In their separate speeches, the  Chief Executive Officer/ President,  Junior Achievement  Africa, Mrs Simi Nwogugu and Executive Director, Junior Achievement Nigeria, Ugonna Achebe told the students to take the programme seriously as it  would make them to be entrepreneurs. 

    According to the duo, they should be  technologically driven  to create new lease of life for themselves, adding that those who bring about innovations in the arts, sciences  businesses and which the world is experiencing today do not have two heads but are humans as well.

    Other speakers include: Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan and Special  Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), Lady  Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette.

    The training which featured selected students  from seven secondary schools which are: Dore Numa College, Dore- Dom-Domingos  College, Hussey College, Uwangue College, Delta Model College, Nana Model College and Yonwuren College- all in Warri  climaxed with questions and answers and group photographs.

    The five (5) months entrepreneurial training program continues tomorrow in earnest with all the stakeholders gearing up to brooding the students knowledge.
