    Conflicting reports surround his passing, with some claiming he died at a herbalist’s residence and others saying he fell ill earlier that day.

    However, no official cause of death has been given.

    On X, Ruger expressed frustration over the lack of information, saying, “Bruh people will just post that someone has died and everyone will move on. Wtf caused his death, who was he with, what was the boy eating or drinking. No autopsy, NOTHING!!!! We just have to accept that he’s dead. My God RIP Destiny Boy. ”

    Destiny Boy, known for his street-influenced sound, announced his first child’s birth in 2024.

    His death has sparked an outpouring of tributes and concern.

    Afrobeats singer Ruger has denied any beef with senior colleague Davido, stating that he loves and respects him.

    The clarification comes after Davido’s fans accused Ruger of taking sides in the rivalry between Davido and Wizkid.

    “When you’re ready apologise and beg Davido publicly, your song will enter No 1,” a fan wrote.

    In a series of posts on social media, Ruger emphasised that he has no issue with Davido and believes they are on good terms.

    Ruger celebrates global tours amid criticisms

    Afrobeats sensation Ruger has responded to ongoing criticism, asserting that negative comments only fuel his ambition.

    In a statement on X, the singer expressed frustration with those who dismiss his growth and accomplishments, while thanking fans who defend him against detractors.

    “The disrespect i get sometimes make me laugh. Like do you expect the negative things you say about me is gonna put me down? That sh*t fuels me i love it. 

    “I wanna appreciate the people that take it upon themselves to defend me whenever all these rubbish things are said. Coz i don’t defend myself at all. So, tonight I’m so pissed at myself. Coz some people act like they don’t see what i do, how much I’ve grown, the stages i kill every year. They want to stick to a narrative HATERS!!! Y’all are needed in my victory story still so carry on,” he wrote.

    Ruger, who established BlownBoy Entertainment in 2024, dismissed claims that his touring career would decline, highlighting a robust performance schedule across Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, St. Lucia, Russia, Turks and Caicos, and London in 2024 and 2025.

    “The day i announced BLOWNBOY ENTERTAINMENT in 2024, someone said I won’t be touring anymore. Watch this. 2024 i toured EUROPE, CANADA, performed in AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND
    2025 i toured EUROPE again, AMERICA, St Lucia, RUSSIA, Turks and Caicos, London”, he added.

    He also announced an upcoming Australian tour for 2026, emphasising his forward momentum.

    “I have already announced my AUSTRALIAN tour for 2026 i don Dey future already”, Ruger said.

    He criticised the hypocrisy of those who condemn his stage performances involving women while praising similar acts by other artists, vowing to continue featuring women in his shows without apology.

    “I bring bed on top stage dem talk, but go ahead to praise any other person that brings a girl on stage. From now on you’ll see your girlfriends and aunties on my stage and nothing wey anybody go do”, he added.

    Ruger also took aim at colleagues who disparage him, particularly those with less international exposure, and refused to engage in their disputes, citing his extensive global travels as a point of pride.

    He added: “Lastly, i will never reply to any of my colleagues that run their mouth on my name. Especially the ones that don’t have as much visas as i have on my passport. You all will bend a knee soon”.

    Affirming his rising influence, Ruger expressed confidence in his trajectory and readiness to embrace critics when his success becomes undeniable.

    “I am the truth and no matter how late some of you realise it, I’ll still accept you with open arms. It is very close. God is good. And I’m RICH AS F3CK bye,” he stated.

    Ruger opens up on struggle after exiting Jonzing label

    Afrobeats star Ruger has spoken candidly about the struggles he faced after parting ways with his former record label, Jonzing World.

    In an interview on Afrobeats Intelligence, the singer revealed that many in the industry doubted his ability to succeed independently, with some even predicting the end of his touring career.

    Ruger noted that in Nigeria, artists who leave their labels are often branded as ungrateful, which makes it difficult to gain support within the industry.

    He also described dealing with cancel culture and the emotional toll of having to rebuild his career from the ground up.

    “I had to meet people all over again and reintroduce myself — it was stressful,” he said.

    Despite the challenges, Ruger credited his resilience and self-belief for helping him push through and continue rising in his music journey.

    He said, “After leaving the label [Jonzing World], there were a lot of comments about it. Some people were saying, ‘This is the last year you’re going to tour’, ‘This is the end’, ‘You’re finished’, this and that.

    “Not everybody was willing to help me because the public sentiment, once you leave a label in Nigeria, is that you are ungrateful. Many people don’t want to associate with that person, even those in the same industry. It happens.”

    “I was battling to cancel culture. I had to meet a lot of people and reintroduce myself. I was doing a lot of things from scratch. It’s stressful, I’m not going to lie. It’s not easy to leave a label. You have to build your system. It was just like starting everything over again. But because I was strong inside -I was also down, but I was still strong- I triumphed.”

    Ruger rose to stardom in 2021 and won the AFRIMA Best Newcomer award, and also the Best New Artist category at the 2023 Soundcity MVP Awards.

    He has two extended plays (EPs), ‘Pandemic’ (2021) and ‘Second Wave’ (2022) and will release his debut album ‘RU The World’ in September 2023.

    Afrobeats singer Ruger has recounted how he donated his first music earnings of N500,000 entirely to the church. 

    He discussed his financial journey during a recent interview with VJ Adams.

    The “Asiwaju” hitmaker recounted how his early payments grew from N500,000 to N1 million and beyond within a year.

    “At every point in my career, I felt happy with what I had because it got bigger each time. My first payment was like N500k when I first came out, and I can remember how I gave everything to the church.

    ” I didn’t use it, and the next payment was like a million, and I was so happy. Buying parfaits and stuff, and more millions came in the space of a year,” he said.

    Ruger admitted that money transforms perspectives, countering claims that it doesn’t change people.

    He noted that wealth alters how one addresses and approaches life’s challenges.

    “Money changes everybody; don’t mind what others say. A lot of things change when you start making money; the way you address things and the way you approach things Is different.

    “Some people are so rich that they don’t stress at all, that’s the point where I want to get. You see Jay Z? No matter how many times he’s called out, he never speaks. That’s the kind of money I want,” he said.

    Speaking in a recent episode of Bro Bants show, Ruger said at 6, he developed feelings for an older woman who playfully referred to him as her ‘boyfriend’.

    Ruger credited the experience for his toxic behavior growing up.

    According to him, the memory of witnessing the intimate moment still affects him and he recalls singing “Imagine That” by Styl-Plus, a song that resonated with his emotional state at the time.

    He said: “The last time that I experienced heartbreak I was very very young. There was this aunty that I liked, she used to call me ‘my boyfriend.’ So, I assumed that she was my woman. I was just 6 years old.

    “I got heartbroken because one day, I saw some guy smashing her through her window. The guy was tearing her up, bro. I cried. I was traumatised. I started singing ‘Imagine That’ by Styl-Plus. That was what started my toxicity. That experience broke my heart.”
