    Singer Runtown is gearing up to launch a new chapter in his career with the upcoming album “Morning Again”.

    The title reflects themes of personal reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth.

    The announcement came as Runtown celebrates another milestone, with his latest project Soundgod Fest IV – EP debuting at No. 42 on this week’s Official Top 100 Albums Chart in Nigeria. This marks his fourth entry on the chart, following Signs (No. 7), Soundgod Fest, Vol. 1 (No. 31), and Tradition (No. 84).

    Runtown sets new release date for ‘Soundgod Fest IV’ album

    Afrobeats star Runtown has announced a new release date for his highly anticipated album, Soundgod Fest IV.

    The album, initially set to drop on June 13, 2025, will now be released on June 27.

    Runtown made the announcement on his Instagram page, sharing a teaser clip and the album artwork.

    He said the decision to push back the release date was made to ensure the final product meets the expectations of his fans.

    “Moved the drop to the 27th of June to make sure it’s absolutely fire for you guys! Meanwhile, hit the pre save link in bio. #SoundgodFestIV,” he wrote.

    Runtown has already released two singles, “Flow” and “Do Me”, which have been well-received by fans and critics alike.

    The album marks his official return to the music scene after a brief hiatus following his 2022 project, Signs.

    Recently, Runtown collaborated with Kizz Daniel on the track “Peace I Chose”, further generating excitement for his upcoming album.

    Artistes and patrons are expected at the anniversary week of the top Abuja entertainment hub and club, Hustle & Bustle.

    The five-day non-stop entertainment show holds at the club on 80 Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2 Abuja has since become a centre of attractions to patrons of nightlife in the nation’s capital.

    Tagged five-day marathon series, the event will kick off on February 14 with Runtown performing on the first day of the show.

  • Runtown back with new EP, ‘Tradition

    After sporadic appearances on the scene over the past three years, Nigerian singer, Runtownis back with new ‘EP, Tradition’.

    The EP comes after his appearance opposite Walshy Fire of Major Lazer and Alkaline on single titled, ‘No Negative Vibes.’

    The title, Tradition according to him has a meaning that is aimed at the singer’s detractors. Genre: Afrobeats, afro-pop while the Date of Release is May 31, 2019. Runtown has since released this message on his Instagram page @runtown;

  • Runtown to release new EP

    Singer Runtown is set to release a new EP, titled ‘Tradition’.

    The singer who made this known on his website said the EP will be released in Friday, May 31, 2019.  This is coming four years after his debut album, ‘Ghetto University’ was released to wide acclaim.

    On why he is dropping an EP instead of an album, Runtown said he didn’t see any difeerence between the two.

    “For me there’s really no difference between an EP and an album,” he said.

    “Example, last year, Kanye West, Pusha T and Nas put out albums that had just seven songs.

    “TRADITION has six songs and it is what I truly feel like putting out at the moment. When it’s time for an album everyone will know.”

    ‘Tradition’ has five new songs and one released single, ‘Unleash’, which features South-East London artiste, Fekky.

    Runtown also revealed that a week before the project drops, he will be putting out a new single, Emotions, which is the second track on the EP.

  • Runtown gets pet lion

    Singer Douglas Jack Agu better known as Runtown, has acquired new pet lion. The singer took to his Instagram account on Sunday to announce the news.

    “Say hi to my pet Lion,” wrote Runtown who recently dropped a new single titled ‘Oh Oh Oh.’

    “What should we call him?”

    In the video which he posted, he is seen feeding the white lion cub from a bottle, before he starts to stoke and pet it.

    Different commenters suggested names such as ‘Runlion’, ‘Archer’,’SoundGod’, ‘Ivory’ and ‘Rolex’ for the lion.

    Also, some commenters such as gray.gram and muyidgreat opined that it was a risky venture keeping a lion as pet. They said ‘He go chop You las las’ and ‘I hope you are ready to run when it comes of age’ respectively.

    White lions are a rarity and are expensive.

  • Flavour, Phyno, Runtown stage homecoming as they perform at Enugu Glo show

    It will be homecoming of sorts for the trio of Flavour, Phyno and Runtown as the Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour goes to Enugu this Saturday.

    The show organised by Nigeria’s foremost telecommunications company, Globacom, will be featuring these highflying musicians who started their musical careers in Enugu. They will be performing in the coal city alongside other topflight entertainers.

    The Enugu edition of the Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour will be held at Golden Royal Hotel in the bursting city at 4.00 p.m. The show will be compered by two of Nigeria’s best known Nollywood faces, Ebube Nwagbo and Uche Jombo, while  three other Nollywood icons, Angela Okorie, Patience Ozokwor (Mama G) and Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) will make celebrity guest appearances.

    The full list of entertainers billed to thrill Enugu includes Korede Bello, Runtown, Tuface, Timaya, Phyno, Flavour and Olamide.

    “Enugu show is loaded and we are hopeful that our esteemed subscribers who will throng the venue of the show will have adequate value for their time,” Globacom said in a statement released from its head office in Lagos.

    “Enugu is very strategic to the Glo business and these artistes are ready in all ramifications to give all the people coming for the show world-class entertainment. Incidentally, three of the artistes, Runtown, Phyno and Flavour, had their formative years in the city. For their fans in the city and beyond, the show affords them the rare opportunity of touching base with their icons”, the company said.

    One of the show headliners, Flavour, spoke of his eagerness about the Enugu show.

    He said, “I am very excited to go to Enugu. This is like going back to my roots and I cannot wait to see not only my fans in the city but those old folks we grew up together in Enugu. It is going to be a show like never before for all of us.”

    Last Saturday, it was the turn of residents of Benin, the Edo State capital, to be thrilled as A-list artistes performed at the ongoing Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour which held at the Best Western Hotels, Etete, Benin.

    With DJ Lambo playing music to set the tone, the fun heightened with the introduction of the delectable duo of Mercy Johnson-Okojie, the Kogi-born actress and Ebube Nwagbo. They were complemented by two Nollywood legends, Patience Ozokwor, also known as Mama G and Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), who made special appearances at the show.

    The stage was subsequently thrown open to budding local artistes with Rasman Sugarrman, 2Soul, Miyake, Waziri Jnr., 3.6, and Viscular making the line-up.

    The first headline act was Marvin Records member, Reekado Banks, who released in quick succession his most popular tunes including Ada, Gbedu and Noni. Music diva Omawumi took over from him and yielded the stage to ladies’ sweetheart, Kiss Daniel who performed Mama, New King, Gobe and Woju. The fun was turned up several notches by dancehall king, Runtown, who sent the hall into a wild reverie with his monster hit, Mad Over You.

    Highlife maestro, Flavour, took over and did not only sustain the tempo, but also raised it even higher with his energetic performance. The excitement in the hall continued when the popular Igbo rap artiste, Phyno took over. Phyno was midway into his hit track, Fada Fada when his music twin brother, Olamide, spotting a grey hairstyle, arrived the stage to a tumultuous reception.

    The next stop for the train of the concert is Old Parade Ground, Abuja this Saturday. Interested Glo subscribers wishing to attend the Abuja show are expected to recharge their lines with up to N2,000 credit and sms ‘MUSIC ABUJA’ to the short code 207.

    The Lagos State Government on Friday said it has concluded plans to climax the Lagos@50 celebrations with a spectacular display of fireworks.

    The Government, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said the fireworks would be on display at midnight of Sunday, May 28 on the water of Eko Atlantic.

    ”This is inform the public that there will be a display of fireworks as part of the music and fashion show to round off the 50thAnniversary Celebrations of the State. The fireworks will be on display at exactly 12 midnight at the Eko Atlantic City during the Golden Concert. Residents do not need to panic or nurse any fear whatsoever when they hear the sound of the fireworks as it is only just a symbolic way to draw the curtains of what has been a very splendid and successful celebration of our golden State.”

    “Residents who cannot attend the concert can also catch it live on Television as it promises to be a historic and exciting night of fun and maximum entertainment”, Ayorinde said.

    The Commissioner also expressed the gratitude of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to the sponsors of the fireworks, Eko Atlantic Nigeria Limited.

    The Lagos@50 Celebration, which began on May 27, 2016, has featured series of events and activities to showcase the cultural essence of the State, including Jazz Meets Runway, International Conferences, Arts Exhibition, Film Shows, among others.

    50 top artistes who have ruled the Lagos music scene over the years are expected to perform at the concert.

    Some of the artistes billed to perform include juju music maestros – King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey as well as the legendry Highlife Patriarch, Sir Victor Olaiya.

    Other superstars on board are Davido, Phyno, Olamide, Humble Smith, Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Partoranking, ‘Mr Capable’ Banky W, Runtown, Vanessa, MI, Eedris Abdulkareem, Mr. Eazi, DJ Spinall and Waka Music star, Queen Salawa Abeni.

    Also expected are star Fuji artistes like Adewale Ayuba, Abass Akande Obesere and Wasiu Alabi (Pasuma Wonder).

    The Concert would also feature a fashion show to depict the evolution of fashion in Lagos state.
