    Popular comedian Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has confirmed the end of his marriage to Ciana Chapman.

    In a recent TikTok live stream, Sabinus stated that his marriage, which took place in 2023, ended peacefully and amicably.

    He emphasised that he and his ex-wife remain on good terms, prioritising their daughter’s well-being.

    The comedian denied circulating rumours of marital issues, including allegations of domestic violence and infidelity, saying, “I’m not married. My marriage ended peacefully. The mum and I are good. My daughter is okay, and she is doing fine.”

    Sabinus’ confirmation came after speculation about his marital status, after several denials of marital problems by the ex-couple.

    Sabinus reveals how his father initially rejected his comedy career

    Comedian Emmanuel Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has opened up about how his father initially opposed his decision to pursue a career in comedy.

    Speaking in an interview with VJ Adams, Sabinus said his father wanted him to become a lawyer. 

    He said after he was unable to secure admission to study law, he went on to study Linguistics and Communication Studies at the University of Port Harcourt.

    He revealed that it was during his university days that he discovered his talent for comedy and began creating skits.

    According to him, his father was furious when he found out, insisting that comedy was a “stupid business.”

    Sabinus said, “At first, my dad never wanted me to be what I am today, he wanted me to be a lawyer. I tried my best but I couldn’t secure a law admission. So, I had to settle for Linguistics and Communication Studies at Uniport.

    “It was on the campus that I saw skit making and I decided to try it out. Money wasn’t coming.

    “After I graduated, my dad never knew I was a comedian because I was hiding it. It was one more year after school that he started seeing me on comedy show posters.

    “My sisters confirmed to him that I was into comedy. He was very furious. He fumed, ‘Which comedy? Stupid business. Look at the boy I sent to become a lawyer.’”

    Popular content creator Sabinus has expressed his disappointment at the lack of respect on social media, particularly in the wake of the online drama between VeryDarkMan and actress Iyabo Ojo.

    He lamented how social media has made people forget that not everyone online is their age mate, and emphasised that respect is mutual and reciprocal.

    Sabinus reminded his followers that there is life beyond social media and encouraged them to show respect to others, regardless of their online presence.

    AFCON: Please forgive, forget – Sabinus apologises to Ghanaians

    Ace comedian, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus has tendered his unreserved apology to Ghanaians for making fun of them following their defeat in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition.

    His apology comes in the aftermath of the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s loss to the host nation, Ivory Coast, in Sunday’s AFCON final match held at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

    Popular comedian and actor, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, better known as Sabinus, has sparked reactions by signing up for an online matchmaking service to find his perfect match. 

    The viral clip shows Sabinus addressing key inquiries about his background, age, and other essential details.

    The programme organiser, Lege, asked: “Where are you calling from?”

    Sabinus: “I’m calling from Lagos, I dey very serious about this matter.”

    Lege: “I did not say you’re not serious. Please listen to me, this is how we do this live, tell me your age. I want to know your age so that I’ll know what I want to do. Tell me your age.”

    Sabinus: “Ok, this year would make me 28.”

    Lege: “28?”

    Sabinus: “Yes.”

    Lege: “What do you do for a living?”

    I’m giving out 50 free JAMB forms to interested applicants – Sabinus declares

    Popular skit maker, Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has promised to give out 50 JAMB forms to interested applicants.

    The Nation reported that the registration for the board’s 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) started on January 15 and will continue until February 26.

    The candidates interested in the mock examination would pay N7,700 for registration while applicants who are not interested in the mock exam must pay N6,200.

    Sabinus in a bid to give back to the society, announced on his Instagram story that he will be giving out JAMB forms to 50 interested aspirants.

    He wrote: “I’m giving out 50 jamb forms for free. Contact 08039805250.”

    This year’s UTME is scheduled to start on March 19 and end on April 29.

    The skit maker, who attained stardom in 2019, has garnered several accolades and recognition over his decision to give out fifty jamb forms.

    At the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, he was named ‘Best Online Content Creator’.

    Emanuael Chukwuemeka Ejekiru aka Sabinus or Mr Funny emerged the most popular Nigerian comedian in 2023.

     This assertion was made by the organisers of the Nigerian Entertainment Today, NET, Honours at the 2023 edition.

     The funny character, who is big on social media, emerged the Most Popular Comedian and Most Popular Content Creator. With this honours, Sabinus has edged out many of his contemporaries and colleagues in the comedy and content creation world.

     Sabinus joins two awards winners at the NET Honours class of 2023, which has been referred to as an annual people’s Choice award.

     Other awardees that won two different categories like Sabinus include Funke Akindele, who won the Most Popular Actress and Most Searched Actress; Davido, who won Most Popular Musician (Male) and Most Popular Fandom (Music); Mercy, who who won Most Popular BBNaija Star, and Most Popular Fandom (BBNaija); Tiwa Savage, who won Most Popular Musician (Female), and Most Searched Musician (Female)

     According to the organisers, there were 24 categories in total – 18 voting categories and six non-voting categories. The results were largely based on audiences’ search results across NET platforms, including Netng, 234Star and Neusroom.

This fuels the imperative to recognise the exceptional contributions of these personalities and celebrate their remarkable achievements.     Celebrity skit maker, Chukwuemeka Ejekwe, popularly known as Sabinus, has mocked Lil Frosh for coming online to drag Yhemolee after he claimed to have been slapped by the socialite.

    Recall that Lil Frosh had taken to his Instagram story, crying out that Yhemolee slapped him at an event for refusing to greet him.

    He went further to add that if anything happens to him, he should be held responsible.

    Sabinus took to his Instagram story to express his disappointment following Lil Frosh’s reaction to the alleged assault.
