WAFU B CWCLQ : Police Ladies eye redemption against Sam Nelly

Police Ladies will be seeking a strong response when they face Beninese  Sam Nelly today in their second group fixture of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B Qualifiers.

The Ghanaian side endured a tough start to the campaign, falling 2–0 to Nigeria’s Bayelsa Queens with goals from Shakirat Moshood and Emem Essien sealing the win for the Prosperity Girls.

Head coach Yusif Basigi has, however, drawn positives from that performance, insisting his team is ready to bounce back against Sam Nelly. The experienced tactician described the clash with Bayelsa as a final in itself, given the fierce football rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana, and believes the lessons learned will serve his side well.

“For us, we will go to the drawing board and discuss it. From there we will continue to make amends. In our subsequent matches, that is where we are going to start from,” Basigi said, highlighting the team’s improved display in the latter stages of the opener.

With the race for semi-final spots already heating up, today’s clash presents a crucial opportunity for Police Ladies to get their campaign back on track. Basigi remains confident that his charges will carry the momentum from their late rally against Bayelsa into the tie with Sam Nelly, as they chase their first points of the tournament.
