Nickelodeon’s same-sex cartoon will not air in Africa

Kiddies channel, Nickelodeon, has confirmed that the episodes of Loud House featuring a same sex couple will not air on its channels in sub-Saharan Africa.

As a global brand entertaining audiences around the world, Nickelodeon strives to ensure that content respects the varying traditions and the cultural sensitivity in each market.

The Loud House is an animated series about the comedy and chaos of family life in all its forms. It is rooted in the creative team’s own experiences from childhood and their observations today as parents themselves.  Its stories and characters are all grounded in the realities of many modern families today, as seen from the perspective of the 11-year old main character.

  • Battle against same-sex marriage far from over

Abhorrent pratices like homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality and their pervasive influence on governance recently engaged the attention of Rev. Chris Okotie’s Fresh Democratic Party (FRESH) mainly because the western world is determined to brow beat the whole world into accepting this immorality as the new norm. As a long-standing member of the Pastor’s Household of God International Ministries, I listened to his insightful teachings on what he called the ‘cult of the beast’, a broad title he used to describe the power of homosexuality and those who engage in such pervasion on government and other institutions of society. You only need to observe the frenetic urgency with which western nations are embracing this trend, as if the growth of their economies is dependent on it. Maybe it indeed is!

Same-sex marriage is reminiscent of those who launder slush funds or black money from looted public treasuries, drug trafficking, illegal bunkering and illegal mining of precious stones. The ultimate aim of homosexuals is to control governments and fulfill Satan’s end-time objective, according to Rev. Okotie. The pastor-politician’s prediction in his book, The Last Outcast, that western nations would legalise same-sex marriage has come to pass, with its endorsement by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Expectedly, many western nations have followed suit. At the last count, about 17 nations have approved what the major religions—Christianity, Islam and Judaism—considered to be an abomination. Now, what makes the homosexuality cult different from other sexual pervasions like adultery, fornication, etc? Cults are usually associated with the religious, and as heterosexuality is God’s way of continuing the creative process, homosexuality and lesbianism are cult’s way of perverting it. One can, therefore, appreciate the warning the FRESH Party gave President Mohammadu Buhari to resist western pressure to bring Nigeria into the emerging club of same-sex nations in the world.

In The Last Outcast, Rev. Okotie brought to the notice of the world about 15 years ago that sodomy would become a new religion and why it would herald the unveiling of the Anti-Christ. Also, in an interview in Nigerian Compass of Monday, October 18, 2010, he told the reporter that “there are three levels of what I call the tripartite coalition of evil… We have elitism, satanism and mysticism. If you can understand these three, you will understand how politics works…” Yes, now we understand.

To exert pressure on dissenting nations, a spokesperson for the British High Commission countered Nigeria’s signing of the Anti-Gay Act, saying that the law “infringes upon fundamental rights of expression and association which are guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and by international agreements to which Nigeria is a party.” It was seconded by

U.S. Secretary of State, Sen. John Kerry, who said: “…It is inconsistent with Nigeria’s international legal obligations and undermines … democratic reforms and human rights protections.” This is the coalition of evil that Rev. Okotie is talking about.

The US, like its western counterparts, where incongruous practices like homosexuality are welcomed and embraced acts of institutionalised endorsement of the horrific trend, is an evidence of how strong the power of the Devil is on the world today. A cleric recently appeared in court facing charges for exercising his constitutional right to refuse honouring a gay marriage request, while a clerk was found guilty on the same charge in Kentucky, US, and has spent time in prison. This is the country that played a major role in the launch of the Pentecostal revival.

Here in Nigeria, our immediate concern is different, as the Act, which strengthens a previous Constitutional provision against sodomy, is under threat from forces within as much as from without. Despite the signing of the Act, and President Buhari’s uncompromising stance in defence of it, there is no contesting the fact that there are numerous secret adherents of these perversions in the corridors of power, corporate circles, citadels of learning and across different spheres of our nation, who are still ‘in the closet’. There is also its appeal which has been craftily infused into the global village with years of subtle advertisements in the media and with the political might of the western culture and economies.

This translates into the future possibilities of a Nigerian generation, government or leader upturning this Act to gain relevance in an already primed world. Our youthful generation, which consistently interacts with peers across the globe, is most susceptible to these obscenities, as they are more receptive of such liberal ideologies, especially via the mainstream and social media. Mr. President should not be lost on this fact. He should call the relevant authorities to task on ensuring that all avenues like movies, music and fashion, which western nations use to glamorize this perversion are regulated. That is why extreme measures like censoring the media and internet content to weed out offensive materials was being adopted by several countries like China, Sri Lanka and Russia.

In summary, it is instructive to refer to what Jesus Christ foretold over two millenia ago. He said: “… as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man… Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” That time is here, and we cannot be caught in its vortex. Rev. Okotie has sounded the warning, President Buhari has upheld the spirit of the Act; Nigerians must now take up the gauntlet for deviation from a course that will surely set man’s existence at odds with continuity.

  • ‘Our church‘ll never marry same-sex couples’

The presiding pastor of Dominion International Centre, Houston Texas, Pastor Toye Ademola, spoke with Sunday Oguntola on the same-sex challenge in America and sundry issues. Excerpts:

You have been in Nigeria for a few weeks. What feelings have you been nursing?

It’s been wonderful and I love coming back to Nigeria. The Spirit here is great and I thank God for what churches here are doing. It’s good to be back at home and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Anytime I come back, I am always challenged because this land is anointed. The move of God is mighty upon this country. The Lord has been helping us to be solid ambassadors of Jesus Christ in the United States of America through the solid foundation we got here.

Well, you said Nigeria is blessed but many say Nigeria is cursed and that is why we are still not moving forward. Is Nigeria cursed?

No, Nigeria is not cursed. Nigeria can’t be cursed because we have God’s children all over the nation. Before the last elections, people said Nigeria was going to break but because of the prayers of the saints, we are still standing.

If you compare Nigeria of ten years ago with today’s Nigeria, you will realise that we are not where we used to be. We are developing and Nigeria is not cursed. We cannot be cursed because there are great children of God here. I have been to many countries but I don’t know of any that parades the great men and women of God we have here. So, Nigeria is blessed.

Well, they argue is the nation is not cursed, we won’t be here we are…

…You see, it will be. It is so easy to destroy than to build. It will take time. If Nigeria is still standing, it is a sign that there is hope for Nigerians. There was a time Nigeria was not the first economy in Africa but Nigeria is taking its place back. We are regaining our prestige in the comity of nations. So, Nigeria is highly blessed.

In those days, you don’t want to identify yourself as a Nigerian in the western world but now if you tell people you are a pastor from Nigeria, they respect you and the anointing upon you. So, we are highly blessed.

But how come every minister wants to jet to western countries for ministries?

I don’t think it is all ministers. Yes, those who don’t know their place in destiny might hustle around but those who know where to be and what to do will never hesitate to stay back home.

If God is calling you to be in any part of the world, there is nothing stopping you from going there. But if He asks you to stay back, go ahead by all means and follow Him. Remember the message has given us is not just for Nigeria but the world. That is why you see us going everywhere.

When God told me to move over to America, I was convinced I was not going there for dollars but to fulfill the will and work of God. I come back and move around but I am not in the west because I have to or want to but because God asked me to. I believe I am not the only one. Those who God called for the West will be there and those He wants back home are here.

My advice for ministers will be to hear God well and be sure where He wants there to function. We are all building the kingdom. If He does not ask you to go somewhere, everyone will know in a matter of time.

Some Christians over here are wondering how church leaders like you will cope with the legalisation of same-sex marriage by the American Supreme Court. If a gay couple asks to be married in your church, what will you do?

Our bye-law clearly states that we don’t believe in homosexuality. It is a sin against God and humanity. If anybody comes to our church that they want to be joined, the answer is no. And such person cannot sue us and there is nothing the government can do about it. Our bye-law states that we are a church that does not believe in homosexuality.

And I live in the state of Texas that protects churches to live out their bye-laws. So, there is nothing to worry about. So, if the government and some sections of the country believe in homosexuality, it doesn’t mean is everyone in America believes in it.

We cannot join gay couples because we either stand with God or get out of the way. The word of God is the final authority on same-sex, not the government of America and there is nothing they can do about it. We are praying for revival in America and trust God to show up.

Many are worried traditional Christianity is dead in America with the policy. Is that true?

I don’t believe that at all. It’s like saying every Nigerian is corrupt. Is that right? There are still honest people around. We only need to pray more in America for revival.

President Muhammadu Buhari appears to be in a quagmire on those to form his cabinet. If you were to advise him, what would you be saying?

I will tell him to take the right step he’s taking now. If you want to be a good leader, you need to know what you believe in and stand by it. If He chooses anyone that comes his way, they will mess him up. It is better for him to wait and scrutinize the people that he believes will do a good job.

I will tell Mr. President ‘I salute you sir. Keep doing what you are doing.’

But is he not too slow?

He is not. You can break anything in less than a minute but you cannot manufacture anything in less than a day.

What is your advice to the church in Nigeria?

I will say don’t allow the spirit of merchandise to creep in. You have been strong in prayers. Continue in that path and keep yourself from the love of money and the spirit of merchandise.

  • Church decries endorsement of same-sex marriage

Last Friday’s ruling of the United States (U.S.) Supreme Court, legalising same-sex marriage has been described as “an attack on the church, Christianity and traditional values”.

A statement from the leadership of Motailatu Church Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, signed by His Eminence, Senior Superintendent Gabriel F. Akinadewo (Omo Jesu II) and Senior Apostle Godfrey Dottie, described the action as unfortunate, “coming from a country which adopts ‘In God we Trust’ as its creed.

“If individuals are involved in homosexuality, we didn’t expect the highest level of judiciary, the Supreme Court, to officially and legally okay such a satanic belief. It was even a surprise to us, as a church, that the highest level of executive, President Barack Obama, has also endorsed this luciferic belief that a man can marry a man and a woman can marry a woman.

“There are countless verses in the Bible to knock off this belief but Genesis 1:27 tells us that God created man and woman. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Adam or Eve and Eve. Genesis 1:31 tells us that everything God created was good.

“It is unfortunate that many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, God’s and Christian values by pursuing policies that challenge God’s wisdom in creating man and woman to replenish the earth.”

“It is true that man has freedom but man’s freedom is not absolute before God. By having faith in God and also believing in satan, the world is gradually slipping away into destruction.

“Since The Netherlands legalised same-sex marriage on April 1, 2001, about 20 countries, including Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Britain, Brazil, New Zealand, Uruguay, France, Denmark and now the U.S., have joined the devilish train of man sleeping with man and woman sleeping with woman.

“It is a terrible thing for anybody to live without God or, directly or indirectly, fight God through satanic words and action. We, as a church, are telling the world to beware of evil influences capable of incurring God’s wrath. We are telling other parts of the world: ‘stop this satanic action now’.

  • Buhari will not support same sex marriage – Group

Buhari will not support same sex marriage – Group

A group, the Buhari Volunteer Network Monday denied insinuation by the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO  that the All Progressive Party Presidential Candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari is collaborating with western nations to support same sex marriage if elected as President.

The group said General Buhari will not support same sex marriage.

The National Co-ordinator of the Network, Comrade Olayemi Success who spoke with newsmen in Abuja said General Buhari if elected President will not revert the existing law on same sex marriage in the country.

The Director, Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode had last week alleged that Buhari was considering repealing the anti-gay laws in Nigeria designed to get the support and endorsement of western governments.

While stating that General Buhari will surely win the forthcoming election, Success added that he will be sworn –in on the 29th of May 2015 as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“General Buhari is a candidate of millions of Nigerian citizens and suffering masses who are demanding for change in the way and manner the country- Nigeria is currently being governed.

“There is no relationship between General Buhari and any western nation concerning gay marriage and such pervasive orientations that are not in conformity with our cultures and values.

“Gay marriages and such pervasive acts are more in tune with the upbringing and orientation of people like Femi Fani-Kayode who are products of corrupt and unpatriotic systems that frittered away the commonwealth of the Nigerian people in foreign land in the name of having good education abroad.

“It is laughable and unreasonable for anybody to think that a man of General Buhari’s standing will at this age and stage descend to a level of upturning Acts of Parliament single-handed in a democracy,” he added

The National Coordinator said the only explanation is that the PDP and Fani- Kayode have dirty minds and are not qualified to speak to Nigerians in the capacity they are doing today.

He said, “this is purely a sign of frustration and a drowning party like the PDP appears unprepared in the face of imminent defeat by APC in March 28th presidential election.

“The truth today is that majority of Nigerians are calling for change, it’s this change that GMB represents. Only a few of these PDP sycophants are deceiving Mr. President.

It is also clear that some important government officials who are patriotic enough are also calling for CHANGE. As you are all aware, the real reason for sacking Lt Gen. Martin Luther Agwai the immediate past chairman of SURE-P is his lecture delivered in commemoration of Obasanjo’s birthday and in the speech he said.

“You find out that everything needs change, if that is what the community wants, what the people want, you must give it to them and as such, change becomes inevitable. Gentle men of the press, this is the major source of PDP’s frustration, and the reason for incessant, unholy, ungodly, unreasonable and laughable attacks and blackmail on GMB.

“As the election is fast approaching, we are calling on Nigerians to continue to remain resolute, calm, collect your PVC, protect it and be ready to Match for Buhari on 28th March by voting for GMB and APC.”

  • Prelate hails Jonathan on same sex marriage law

The Prelate and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, the Most Reverend Prof Emele Uka, has said the President Goodluck Jonathan, showed courage by signing into law the bill prohibiting same sex marriage.

Speaking with The Nation in Calabar on Saturday, he said, “We congratulate the President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for his courage and firmness in signing bill into law. By the law it is a crime punishable with 14 year jail term for anybody in the country, including foreigners living in the country to engage in same sex marriage.”

This action by the president, he said, falls in line with the hue and cries of concerned citizens who “prefer to uphold God’s fundamental laws of creation than man’s fundamental laws of human rights founded not on the sanctity of human life but on the profanity of human sexual proclivities.”

He continued, “The church urges the president not to get bothered by the pressure from Britain, the European Union and America who violate God’s law with impunity.

“They should be warned that if they do not obey God’s fundamental laws on human sanctity and procreation, what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah will surely happen to them.”

  • Britain to engage Jonathan on same-sex marriage bill

Britain to engage Jonathan on same-sex marriage bill

Britain will  engage Nigeria on the bill seeking to stop same-sex marriage, British Prime Minister David Cameron said yesterday.

He was speaking against the backdrop of the legislation already passed by the National Assembly prescribing 14 years imprisonment for same sex marriage offenders. The bill is waiting for presidential assent to become law.

Cameron said yesterday “nothing should be off the table” when it comes to foreign aid and protecting equal rights. He spoke on a BBC programme.

Cameron told the BBC that he would be raising the issue with Nigeria’s leaders.

“With countries like Nigeria, where we have a very good relationship, a very strong relationship, nothing should be off the table”, the prime minister said.

“So when we meet with Nigerian politicians and Nigerian leaders, we should be very clear about those things that we agree about and very clear where we disagree.”

Mr Cameron said the UK has a “very good record on equal rights for lesbian and gay people”, adding: “we believe that’s right for every country in the world.”

“The matter of your sexuality is something that shouldn’t be a disadvantage to you [just as] your religion, or your race, or the way you should choose your life “

When asked if UK foreign aid should be docked from Nigeria, the prime minister said: “We will have to have some conversations with them, as I said nothing is off the table and we should have these conversations, but we also have some very important objectives with the Nigerians for instance to deal with the appalling rates of poverty in the north of Nigeria which [is] part of a problem that affects not just Nigeria but the rest of the world.”

The PM added: “But as I said, nothing [is] off the table; always prepared to have these conversations, and my view very strongly is that we should have proper equality for lesbian and gay people and that should apply everywhere in the world.”

  • Same sex marriage is a sin, says Catholic bishop

Bishop Emmaneul Badejo of the Oyo Catholic Diocese has described same sex marriage as “a gross sin against God”.

Last week, Pope Francis I acknowledged the existence of gay lobby in the Vatican.

Bishop Badejo spoke at the weekend while delivering the sermon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oke-Padre, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, at the wedding of the daughter of the Publisher of the defunct Third Eye, Chief Akanni Aluko.

He said the Catholic Church can never support gay marriage and urged Christians across the world to wage war against it.

Bishop Badejo said: “Catholics across the world should rise up to fight against same sex marriage. It is a fight that must be won because the act is a gross sin against God and we should not allow it in the sanctuary of the living God.

“There is a reason God made a complement for man. He knew man could not continue to be alone. God also found it necessary to create man and woman for the purpose of procreation, which He ordained. We must therefore resist this un-natural use of the body.”

He urged the couple to be faithful to each other in fulfilment of their marital vows before God.

Catholic Archbishop of Ibadan Diocese Most Rev. Alaba Job urged the congregation to stand for what is holy.

He urged the couple to be prayerful and be committed to the success of their marriage.

In attendance were the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Azeez Alao-Arisekola; the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III; the Olubadan, Oba Samuel Odulana, who was represented by Chief Edy Oyewole; Head of the Afe Babalola Chambers Mr. Adebayo Adenipekun (SAN); wife of the former Governor Rashidi Ladoja, Alhaja Mutiat; Alhaja Bose Adedibu, wife of the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Chief Lamidi Adedibu; the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran and the Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida, among others .

  • The gale of same-sex union

SIR: The spate of same-sex marriage is winning over opposite sex marriage as many countries of the world continue to sign on gay marriages, making the same-sex marriage legal. Other countries still dragging their feet are under great pressure to do same. As Nigeria government has been recently rebuked for her anti-gay policy.

Some renowned personality in the entertainment industry are living as gay couples, combined with the explosion of gay sex videos and pictures on the internet are fast turning a large number of innocent people into the fold.

A same-sex marriage was held in France the day the gay bill was passed into law, while gays continued to storm every street corner in the world for recognition by law and demand to live the life style of their taste.

The danger signal here is that those with same sex persuasion are more aggressive than those with opposite sex inclination. Following the violent history of those with the habit, and some protest slang that threatened ‘we will sodomised your children’, coupled with the description in one of the historical book of the world, the Holy Bible, where it was associated with rape and humiliation of those that have different sexual inclinations.

How long then can those countries and states that are against gay marriage maintain this stand and what happens if gay marriage is finally accepted in every country? It will surely be a licence to wipe out opposite sex union, and the foreseeable time limit for this is 2030, that is if it did not happen before then.

  • Reps ban same sex

House of Representatives yesterday passed into law the same sex prohibition bill after its consideration in the Committee of the Whole.

The committee passed the bill with minimum alterations.

The content of the bill with the title: “A bill for an act to prohibit marriage or civil union entered between persons of the same sex, solemnisation of same and for other matters related therewith”, stipulates 14-year jail term for anyone that contravenes the law.

In the same vein, the piece of legislation prohibits the registration of gay clubs, societies and organisations.
