Samuel Agu bags Imo SWAN Heartland Player of the Month Award for April

Heartland FC central defender, Samuel Agu, is the latest to be recognised as the Imo SWAN Heartland FC Player of the Month for April following his blistering performance last month.

The defender got over 90 percent of the votes cast by members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo Chapter to become the eighth winner of the prestigious award.

He defeated his teammates namely  Christian Nkwo; Emmanuel Charles, the winner of the award in March; Chukwudi Agor and Chinedu Ozor who also put up commendable outings last month.

Agu who provided stability and calming influence to Heartland defence in all the games he played in April with three clean sheets out of the five games played in all competitions was among the few turning points of a positive month which produced two victories and two draws.

He scored two goals and was a threat in the final third in all the games played despite ensuring that his partnership with Chinedu Ozor does not ship in goals anyhow.
