AC Milan to cash in on Chukwueze next summer

Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, is expected to leave the seven-time Champions League winner, AC Milan, at the end of the season, as he’s now considered an extra to requirements, Soccernet.ng reports.

Chukwueze, 25, joined the Italian giant from Villarreal in a deal worth €21.1 million two years ago, and it has been ups and downs for the Super Eagles star in AC Milan.

He was expected to do better, but he has seriously struggled. After struggling last season, it looked like the appointment of Paulo Fonseca was going to turn out good for him as he got a lot of game time in pre-season. However, it did not pay off like that, as the winger got most of his minutes from the bench.

But after the dismissal of Fonseca at the turn of the year, Chukwueze’s situation went from bad to worse since AC Milan appointed Sergio Conceicao. Since then, his playing times have dropped drastically.

Chukwueze has played only 206 minutes in AC Milan’s 25 games since the start of 2025

There have been talks that Super Eagles star will exit AC Milan in the summer. Now, Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira has reported that the Rossoneri want to cash in on Chukwueze in the summer. Meanwhile, the Nigerian star already has admirers from the Premier League, LaLiga, and the Saudi Arabian league.

Despite his lack of game time, Samuel Chukwueze has attracted a lot of attention from clubs abroad. Arsenal were heavily linked to him in the summer, but the deal didn’t materialize.

Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze was an unused Substitute in AC Milan 3-0 win over Inter in the return leg of the semi-final tie of the Coppa Italian yesterday at the San Siro stadium.

The first leg ended 1-1 at the same Stadium but the Rossoneri swept the league leaders aside in the return leg to secure a place in the final of the Italian Cup 4-1 on aggregate.

Former Real Madrid striker, Luka Jovic was the hero of the game scoring twice in the 36th and 50th minutes to help under-fire AC Milan get a place in the Coppa Italian final and a chance to end the season with a title.

AC Milan will await the winner of tonight’s second leg tie between Bologna and Empoli with Bologna holding a 3-0 advantage from the first leg played at Empoli. The game holds tonight.

In the Italian Serie A, Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru stayed on the bench throughout the game for Lazio as the club defeated Genoa 2-0 away.

Lazio moved to the sixth spot with 59 points from 33 games and will be at home to Parma on Monday.

In another game, Super Eagles Goalie, Maduka Okoye conceded two goals as Udinese fell 2-0 to Torino.

Udinese will be eager to return to winning ways on Monday in their league game versus Bologna.

In Spain, without Chrisantus Uche who received a straight red card in Getafe 1-0 away loss to Espanyol last weekend, his club was beaten again yesterday 1-0 by Real Madrid.

THE ITALIAN JOB: Eyes on Samuel Chukwueze, Lookman as Milan host Atalanta

Separated by 10 points in the Serie A standings, Lombardy rivals AC Milan and Atalanta BC meet at San Siro tomorrow  with   eyes on  the  Nigerian duo of  Samuel Chukwueze  and Ademola Lookman  on the opposing sides.

While the visitors are still fighting for a top-four finish, Milan’s hopes of returning to the Champions League are almost over – despite winning 4-0 in Udine last time out.

Days after coming back to snatch a point at home to Fiorentina, Milan swept Udinese aside thanks to strikes by Rafael Leao, Strahinja Pavlovic, Theo Hernandez and the irrepressible Tijjani Reijnders, who took his Serie A tally into double figures for the season.

Despite such an emphatic success, the Rossoneri still sit ninth in the table, trailing behind several teams in a crowded race for European qualification.

With just six rounds remaining, winning the Coppa Italia may now offer their best chance of securing a spot in continental competition: Sergio Conceicao’s side fought out a draw in the first leg of their semi-final tie against city rivals Inter, and they will play the second leg next week.

First, they must host another local side – Serie A’s second-top scorers Atalanta – having struggled to keep clean sheets since Conceicao took charge. Across their last nine home games, Milan have managed just a single shutout – against lowly Hellas Verona in February.

Tomorrow  will mark only the second time that the second-city giants have faced La Dea while trailing by at least 10 points. So, having also lost three of the teams’ last four meetings, Milan’s longstanding supremacy in this contest may be consigned to the past.

Back in December, a late Ademola Lookman goal secured victory for Atalanta in the reverse fixture, at a time when the Bergamaschi were flying high on all fronts.

During 2025, though, they have been bedeviled by inconsistency, and their slim Scudetto hopes were recently ended when they lost three straight games without scoring.

It came as a relief, then, when Mateo Retegui’s 23rd  league goal of a sparkling season put them ahead after three minutes of last week’s clash with in-form Bologna, and they eventually secured a 2-0 win over their fellow top-four contenders.

Set to be crowned Capocannoniere next month, Retegui is now intent on overhauling Pippo Inzaghi’s club record for Serie A strikes in a single campaign – 24, set in 1996-97 – and his input could prove crucial as Atalanta seek a Champions League return.

Now being closely pursued by Juventus – plus Bologna and both Rome clubs – the Nerazzurri cannot afford many more slip-ups, as they have a particularly challenging run-in.

For all their recent failings, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have accrued the most away points in Serie A so far, collecting fewer than only Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona across Europe’s top five leagues.

After racking up 12 top-flight away games without defeat – a fine run featuring nine wins – La Dea lost to Fiorentina last time they left Bergamo, so they will aim to start another streak on Sunday night.

Chukwueze crashes out of Champions League with Milan

Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze and his Italian club, AC  Milan were yesterday  bundled out of the UEFA Champions League  playoffs round after a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Dutch side, Feyenoord in Milan.

The Rossoneri needed to overturn a 1-0 loss to Feyenoord in the first leg and they began the game impressively scoring after only 38 seconds through Santiago Gimenez who netted against his former club to give his new club a good start.

Milan threatened thereafter to increase the tally but lack of marksmanship in the final third robbed them of a goal that could have insured their opening goal.

Feyenoord came back into the game the moment Frenchman, Theo Hernandez got yellow carded in the 44th  and 51st  minutes. The visitors equalised in the 73rd  minute through Julian Carranza to protect their lone goal advantage of the first leg.

Chukwueze was introduced in the 83rd  minute as a replacement for Yunus Musah as Milan became desperate in search of the equaliser. It yielded no fruitful result.

Feyenoord also ended the game with 10 men following the dismissal of Givairo Read in the stoppage time of the game.

Milan may  trade Chukwueze, Okafor for Bologna’s Orsolin

Milan are looking to add Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze and Swiss international Noah Okafor in a deal to bring Bologna captain Riccardo Orsolini to the club as they hope to strengthen their attack before the end of the transfer window.

The Rossoneri have identified Orsolini as the perfect player to improve their right-wing struggles after players like Chukwueze, Okafor, and a host of others have failed to lock down the position.

Chukwueze recently returned from injury to score a  late winner for the Rossoneri , propelling them to a 3-2 win over Parma but his heroics may not  be enough to keep him at the club beyond the January transfer window.

According to Sempremilan, Milan have seen their first offer of €18 million cash plus Noah Okafor rejected by Bologna for Orsolini but are determined to go back this week with a stronger offer which is reported to be in the region of €20 million cash plus Okafor and Chukwueze.

Should the deal go through, both Okafor and Chukwueze are expected to move in the other direction on a permanent deal.

With a few days to go until the close of the transfer window, Milan will be cautious about going ahead with the deal as Orsolini is currently injured with a first-degree lesion to the right femoral biceps, which he picked up during Bologna’s 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in a UEFA Champions League match.

It means Milan could end up losing two valuable wingers during a trying period for a player whose fitness is not ascertained.

New coach Sérgio Conceição has hinted that he needs more signings to come in before the end of the window as they look to compete for a Champions League place finish at the end of the season.

“Let’s see. I’m not bluffing, but I’m focused on the players we have. After Juve, I said that something more was needed and I’m not backing down. So I hope that something more can come, if we don’t go to war with what we have,” Conceição said after the win against Parma.

Fit-again Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze produced a Man-of-the-Match  performance as AC Milan snatched victory from the jaws of defeat  yesterday at the San Siro, scoring twice right at the end to beat Parma 3-2.

The Nigerian International  who has been out  with hamstring muscle injury  for about three weeks  came on as a second half substitute to help  Milan to a ‘miraculous comeback’ victory.

. Parma led twice through Cancellieri and Del Prato, but they were not braced well enough for the late wave of Milan pressure.

In the second minute of six added on at the end of the game, the Rossoneri equalised and this time it counted, after an earlier goal from Strahinja Pavlovic had been ruled out for offside.

Reijnders made a darting run in behind that was found by a perfectly weighted through ball from Musah, and the Dutchman kept his composure when through on goal, slotting it past Suzuki at the near post.

Then, something even more miraculous happened as the Rossoneri got themselves a dramatic later winner in the fifth minute of added time.

A cross from the left was met by the head of Pavlovic and the ball dropped in behind to Chukwueze who bundled it past Suzuki into the back of the net. A lengthy check for offside rendered the goal fair, and San Siro exploded.

After the match, Chukwueze was named the man of the match after his impressive performance as reported by Sofascore.

The 25-year-old  who featured for 33 minutes, completed 85% accurate passes, had one shot on target and netted the winning goal which helped the Italian giants secure maximum points.

January Transfers: Milan  to offload  Saudi-wanted Chukwueze

Even with barely 10 days  to the end of the January  Window,  there are  still huge speculations  regarding  the future of ‘fit-again’ Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, with words  rife that Milan  are working  on the  exit of  the  Super Eagles’ winger along  with  three others including Swiss-Nigerian  Noah Okafor.

According to Football Italia,  Milan are working on whittling down their squad this month and  are ‘fielding offers’ for  Strahinja Pavlovic. Luka Jovic, Okafor and Chukwueze fielding offers.

Already, the Rossoneri have brought in Kyle Walker on loan with option to buy from Manchester City set at €5m, he underwent his medical today and is set to sign the contract this evening.

However, they are also pushing to cut down some of the players who are not part of new coach Sergio Conceicao’s plans.

Pavlovic was the target of a proposal from Fenerbahce, but it was rejected because this would only be a dry loan, so only a permanent sale would be considered for over €20m.

Notably, Pavlovic’s agent has been  spotted at the club headquarters for a meeting, because VfB Stuttgart are reported to have made an approach too.

This would be a loan with option to buy and the player seems a little more amenable to that solution.

Meanwhile, Okafor is training with the squad after his failed transfer to RB Leipzig and still potentially on the way out.

Chukwueze, who is currently injured, has reportedly been approached by several clubs in the Saudi Pro League for a potentially lucrative transfer.

Jovic was called in by Monza, who yesterday sold Milan Djuric to Parma, but the centre-forward is said to be unimpressed with the idea of joining the team rock bottom in Serie A.

Milan reject Betis’ interest in Chukwueze

AC Milan are clinging unto their Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze despite serious interest from Spanish club Real Betis.

Chukwueze, who made the move to Milan from Villarreal last summer, has struggled to secure a regular spot in the team.

After previously rejecting an offer to play in the Saudi Pro League, Chukwueze now faces a potential return to La Liga.

Yesterday, Real Betis reportedly made an approach to AC Milan for a loan move, but the offer was swiftly rejected, as it did not meet Milan’s valuation of the Nigerian international.

Chukwueze may return for  Milan derby Feb. 2

Super Eagles forward  Samuel Chukwueze is expected to miss not less than  eight crucial  matches after he went  out injured  in the Serie A match against  Roma on Sunday.

The incident which  happened in the first half,  came not long after  Chukwueze  made an attempt on goal as he fell to the floor clutching his hamstring. He immediately requested a change, with Tammy Abraham taking his place.

He was  left out of Milan travelling contingent  for  the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia  but  following a  Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan  yesterday, it  has now been revealed that  Chukwueze  would miss the whole of  January.

According to MilanNews, the MRI scan carried out has revealed a lesion of the left femoral biceps. The Nigerian will be re-examined in ten days and he is expected to be out for at least one month, meaning he would miss the whole of January.

That means the winger will be out for: Juventus in the Supercoppa semi-final, the final (if Milan quality), Cagliari at home, Como away, Juventus away, Girona at home, Parma at home and Dinamo Zagreb away. The derby on 2 February may well be the target.

The 25-year-old  FIFA U-17 World Cup  winner  has  scored just once with no assist  in 17 Serie A  matches in the on-going  2024/ 2025  campaign.

After the team’s morning training session and the press conference  yesterday to present the new coach Sergio Conceicao,  Chukwueze  was conspicuously  missing  as the  AC Milan squad left for the Malpensa airport to board the flight that will take the team to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia for Friday’s semi-final of the Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus.
