  • Niger governor, deputy win polling units for APC

    Niger state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello and his deputy, Alhaji Mohammed Ketso has won their polling units for APC.

    In the Governorship Polling unit, Alkali Mustafa Unit, APC got 318 votes while PDP got  33 votes for the governorship while in the House of Assembly election, APC got 247 votes while PDP got 39 votes.

    In the Deputy Governor’s polling unit, APC got 340 votes while PDP got 0 votes for the governorship election while for the State house of Assembly, APC got 334 votes while PDP got 0 vote.

  • NLC, TUC, pensioners endorse Bello for second term

    The Organised Unions and Pensioners in Niger state have endorsed Governor Abubakar Bello for second term.

    They said they were backing the reelection of Bello because he has been a labor- friendly governor.

    Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Idris Ndako made this endorsement at the Labour House in Minna during an interactive session between the Governor, Organised Labour and pensioners in the state.

    The Labour Leader said that the support was borne out of the  pro-labour policies, programmes and cordial industrial relationship with the administration of since 2015.

    He said: “The National President of the Congress has directed states councils to ensure that all governors who are labour- friendly and are seeking reelection should be supported.

    “We are here today to inform you of our total support for your aspiration and election comes Saturday. The entire organised labour is solidly behind you.”

    Comrade Ndako noted that the policies and programmes of Governor Sani-Bello since 2015 have been labour friendly.

    Bello assured the state workforce of his administration’s plans to provide better system workers to ensure effective and efficient service delivery despite financial challenges faced by the state.

    He said he will continue to ensure prompt payment of salaries, pension and other benefits as at when due while assuring local government workers and teachers in the state of increment in salaries.

    The governor stated his commitment to taking the state to the next level while directing a work -free day for the state civil servants on Friday to enable them prepare ahead of the Governorship and House Assembly elections.

  • Polls: Ballot Paper confusing – Sani Bello

    Niger state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has said that the ballot papers were a bit confusing as a result of the number of political parties on the ballot.

    Just as he said that uninformed voters may be confused in selecting the party of their choice.

    Speaking after casting his vote, Bello advised the people to take their time and be patient to identify the party of their choice.

    “One thing I noticed while casting my vote is that the ballot paper is a bit confusing with so many parties on the ballot papers. So if you are not careful you may vote the wrong party of your choice.

    “So my advice is for the electorate to take their time, do not rush, be patient, go through the ballot paper carefully and identify the party of their choice”.

    The Governor who voted alongside his wife, Dr. Amina Sani-Bello expressed satisfaction on the large turnout of voters commending the electorates for their level of maturity, organization and calmness displayed at the polling center.

  • Asian-African Chamber of Commerce honours Sani-Bello, Okiro, Kwankwaso, others

    The induction of the African executives of the Asian-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) will be coming up on December 8, at the NECA House, Ikeja Central Business District,Lagos.

    Some eminent Nigerians will also be honoured on the day.

    Speaking to newsmen in Abuja , the Vice President of the AACCI, Dr. High Prince Leye Babalola, stressed the need for the Abuja Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), NACCIMA and Small and Medium Scale Association of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to have bilateral agreements with the AACCI because of the rapid increase in the business between African Pacific and Asian countries had jumped from 2.8 billion dollars in 1990 to about 300 billion dollars in 2018 and “it is expected to surpass 1.5 trillion dollars by 2020”.

    Also speaking at the press briefing, Mr. Tunde Osho, a representative of the University of Entrepreneurship and Technology (UET), State of Delaware, United States, announced that eminent Nigerians that had distinguished themselves in the fields of security, business, governance, engineering and so on would be honoured.

    Dignitaries to be honoured include Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State; Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State; Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State; Sir (Dr.) Mike Okiro, former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) and former Inspector General of Police; Senator Theordore  Orji, former governor of Abia State;  Prince Adetokunbo Kayode SAN; among others.

  • Fayemi attends NEC meeting

    The new Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi was among state governors that attended the National Economic Council ( NEC ) meeting.

    The meeting was chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.

    Fayemi was sworn in as Executive Governor of Ekiti State on Tuesday.

    He arrived the Council Chamber venue of the meeting around 10.54a.m

    Fayemi was the centre of attractions as he stepped into the hall being the first time he was attending the NEC meeting under the current dispensation.

    He went round the hall to have hand shake with his colleagues.

    Cameramen and photographers had a field day taking his shots at he moved from one point to the other.

    The meeting started around 11.05a.m when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo called for rendition of the National anthem.

    The opening Muslims prayer was offered by the Niger State Governor, Sani Bello.

  • IBB at 77: You are testimony of good leadership—Sani-Bello

    Niger State Governor, Alhaji AbubakarSani-Bello has said that former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida has remained a testimony to the power of good leadership and purposeful living.

    Paying tribute totheformer leader military leader,  Sani-Bello noted that the former military leader has continued to demonstrate great statesmanship and patriotism as he has remained resolute on the path of promoting national unity, integration and development.

    In a congratulatory message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace,  Sani-Bello described l Babangida as a great source and flowing river of inspiration as well as a role model who excellent years of active public life were guided by good virtues, vision and courageous showmanship.

    “We salute your resilience and commitment to the service of nation in particular and humanity in general. We will continue to tap from your wealth of experience”, he said. According to the governor, the history of Nigeria can never be complete without acknowledging General Babangida’s numerous contributions to the nation’s socio-political and economic development.

    Governor Sani-Bello then prayed Allah to grant him excellent health, strength and many more years ahead.

  • 2019: I remain in APC – Gov Sani-Bello

    Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has said that he has no plan to defect from All Progressive Congress (APC) to any other political party.

    According to the Governor, there is no cause for apprehension in any quarters emphasizing that Niger state has remained predominantly an APC state and political affiliation in the state will continue to wax stronger.

    In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Ndace, the governor maintained that he remained consistent in support of President Muhammadu Buhari-led government and committed to party ideals stating that APC remains the only political party to rescue Nigeria from the many wrongs of the past administrations.

    “In the last three years, we have shown commitment to the needs and aspirations of Nigerlites through restoration agenda predicated on agriculture, health, education, peace and security, youth and women empowerment and infrastructural development”

    “We demonstrated through completion of abandoned and uncompleted projects by past administration that government is about the people. It is on this account that i seek to renewed my mandate from Nigerlites.”

    He stated that President Buhari has and is doing well in terms of infrastructural development in the state and the country; while the state government is fulfilling the yearning and aspirations of the people, hence there was no justification to defect.

    ” President Muhammadu Buhari remains a stabilising factor in strengthening the nation’s unity. I and my colleagues have already set in motion a political strategy to lead a successful campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election.

  • Saraki, Ambode, Sani-Bello, Okorocha, Bello congratulate Ekiti, Fayemi

    SENATE President Bukola Saraki, Governors Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos State), Abubakar Sani-Bello (Niger State) and Oluwarotimi Akeredolu  (Ondo State) yesterday congratulated the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

    Others were Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum Rochas Okorocha and Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.

     

    Saraki to Fayemi: use your second coming to continue people-centered policies

    Saraki, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, stated that the governor-elect should use his second coming to continue the people-centered policies and programmes of his first term.

    He urged him to also work to grow the state’s economy to leave behind a sustainable legacy.

    He said the victory was a sign that the people of Ekiti State still have confidence in the former minister’s ability to provide good governance and render efficient service to the state and its people.

     

    Ambode: victory is sign that APC electoral value has not waned

    Ambode, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, hailed President Muhammadu Buhari, APC leadership, members and its supporters for the hard-fought victory.

    He added that it was a testament to the fact that the electoral value of the party has not waned.

    The governor praised and congratulated the governor-elect for his hard fought victory and wished him well as he prepares to take the mantle of leadership for a second time.

    He also urged Fayemi to use his second coming to build on its previous achievements and forge ahead with the quest to unite the Yoruba nation, especially through regional integration and economic transformation of the Southwest geo-political zone and justify the confidence the Ekiti electorate have reposed on him.

    says Sani-Bello

    Sani-Bello congratulated Fayemi on his victory and described the triumph as well deserved and demonstrated the people’s acceptance and confidence in the APC.

    In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Sani-Bello expressed optimism that Fayemi’s  second coming as the governor would transform Ekiti State and bring it to an enviable level among its peers.

     

    Okorocha congratulates Fayemi, Tinubu, Oshiomhole

    Okorocha described Fayemi’s victory as a “convincing and resounding victory”.

    The governor also hailed the people of Ekiti State “for preferring truth to falsehood” by voting Fayemi in the Saturday’s election.

    Okorocha added that “with the election of the APC candidate, the Southwest has reminded those who might have forgotten that they were progressives to remain.

    He congratulated the APC leaders in the Southwest, including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former APC interim National Chairman Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Oni and the APC governors in the geo-political zone for closing ranks to ensure victory for APC and Fayemi.

    The Imo State governor lauded APC National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for the victory, stating that there was no doubt that “with Oshiomhole, all the lost grounds by APC will be regained”.

     

    It’s a pointer to what 2019 ‘ll bring, says Bello

    Bello said Fayemi’s victory was a victory for democracy and a sign that the people of Ekiti State were ready to join the fold of the progressives.

    The governor noted that under Buhari, elections continue to be free and fair, “a pointer to what 2019 will bring”.

    “In a democracy, the wishes and desires of majority trump over those of the minority  and only a true democrat like President Buhari would respect that time and time again,” he said.

    Congratulating the Ekiti people for making the right choice, he praised them for their peaceful conduct during the elections.

     

    Why APC candidate

    won, by Akeredolu

    Akeredolu, in a statement by  Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation,  Yemi Olowolabi,  attributed Fayemi’s victory to ” sterling record in public service, tenacity of purpose, exemplary values, stupendous goodwill and abiding  grace of God”.

    He welcomed  the governor-elect to a familiar terrain, where he “will quickly consolidate on his legacy of good governance, which hallmarked his first tenure as the Ekiti State Governor “.

    Acknowledging the enormity of the task ahead of the new helmsman, Akeredolu is optimistic that Fayemi’s rich experience,  far-reaching contacts, resourcefulness and robust intellectual capacity  would undoubtedly help his iron cast resolve to restore hope in Ekiti State”.

    Akeredolu also extended courtesies to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, whose party’s candidate,  Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, was defeated in the Saturday July 14 governorship election.

     

     

     

  • Ekiti 2018: Gov. Sani-Bello congratulates Fayemi

    Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has congratulated former Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, John Ayodele Fayemi on his victory recorded in the just concluded election in Ekiti State.

    Governor Sani-Bello described the victory as well deserved and demonstrates the people’s acceptance and confidence in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

    In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Governor Sani-Bello expressed optimism that Fayemi’s second coming as the Governor of Ekiti State would transform the state and bring it to an enviable level among its peers.

    “The victory itself demonstrates how much the people love and trust you. We are sure that you would do all you can to provide your people the best dividends of democracy they have ever had “.

    Sani-Bello however called on the Ekiti Governor-elect to see his victory as a clarion call to serve urging him to extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents by providing a level-playing ground for all in the overall progress and development of the state.
