Excid Pharmaceutical, with Shodan Pharmaceuticals, has introduced SITFINE—a NAFDAC-approved toilet seat sanitiser designed to improve personal hygiene.
In Nigeria, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene contribute to high infection rates. As of 2023, 46 per cent of the population lacks access to improved sanitation, and nearly 38 million engage in open defecation. This has led to a high prevalence of infections, including diarrhoea, which affects eight per cent of children under five years, according to 2018 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey.
SITFINE Sanitiser Spray kills 99.99 per cent of germs on toilet seats, providing users with a powerful defence against harmful bacteria and viruses.
Daniel Okeoma, vice president of Shodan Pharmaceuticals., said SITFINE is applied to the toilet seat, where it sanitises the surface, eliminating the need to wait. In addition, SITFINE neutralises unpleasant odours, leaving restrooms smelling fresh and clean.

He said: “Using “SITFINE” is an effective way to maintain personal hygiene and protect yourself from germs and bacteria when using restrooms. It sanitises upon application on the toilet seat, so you don’t have to wait. The product neutralises bad smells and odours in the restroom.”
The need for solutions like SITFINE is underscored by public health challenges in Nigeria. Nigeria Center for Disease Control reported over 6,000 cholera cases and 150 deaths in 2023, highlighting the need for improved hygiene practice.
Shodan Pharmaceuticals, under Seun Shosanya, is committed to advancing health through innovative products. By offering a reliable tool for maintaining cleanliness and preventing infections, the company aims to enhance user safety and contribute to better health outcomes.
