    Seaman’S Schnapps, prayer drink from Nigeria Distilleries, has reaffirmed its role as guardian of sacred moments and ancestral honour at 2025 Ita Oba Festival in Ipeti Royal Square, Olota Palace, Ota, Ogun State, .

    Organised under authority of Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, Olota of Ota, the celebration brought together royal fathers, cultural societies, politicians and sons and daughters of Ota in colourful gathering of identity, reverence and festivity.

    A key highlight was the libation ritual, where Seaman’s Schnapps was poured in prayer for Nigeria’s peace, prosperity and unity. This sacred act reinforced the brand’s role as a conveyor of blessings and spiritual continuity, a drink that has journeyed through generations in rites, rituals and royal celebrations.

    The festival also featured a fashion parade sponsored by Seaman’s, with the brand awarding cash to the top three groups.

    Council of Iyalodes in Ota Awori claimed first place, impressing attendees with elegance, coordination, and cultural finesse.

    Other prominent attendees included Engr Tunji Akinosi, Member of the House of Representatives (Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency); Hon Wasiu Lawal, Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government; and Mrs Omobolaji Akinde Omotade, who commended guests for their dedication to tradition.

    Traditional rulers added their presence to the occasion, including Oba Clement Akinyemi, Ajana of Ota Aworiland; Oba Abdulkareem Odunaro, Onikotun of Ottun Ota; and Oba Wadudu Ajani Deinde, Oloruba of Oruba Ota, among others, reinforcing the deep bond between the throne, the people and the land.

    His Royal Majesty, the Olota of Ota, praised the turnout of cultural groups, societies and families, describing their participation as vital to preserving the town’s heritage.

    He also commended Seaman’s Schnapps for its role in sustaining cultural tradition.

    It was a festival of colour, glamour and glizt at this edition of the Lisabi Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where kith and kins, friends from far and near congregated to mark this epoch event.

    This year’s event had every trappings of class and panache with Seaman’s Schnapps, Nigeria’s number one prayer drink, as theLead Sponsor and Official Prayer Drink at the 38th Lisabi Festival.

    The festival welcomed a remarkable gathering of dignitaries and royal fathers from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

    Seaman’s Schnapps has partnered Nigerian Artisans and Technicians Conference (NATCO) to empower artisans in Ibadan. The initiative provided artisans with tools to enhance their trades and ensure prosperity. 

    The three-day empowerment focused on equipping artisans from tailoring, auto mechanics, bricklaying, and others with tools, such as sewing machines, wheelbarrows, head pans, and shovels, facilitated by NATCO. 

    Nnenna Uche-Onyenacho, senior Brand manager for Seaman’s, said: “Seaman’s Schnapps is rooted in tradition and blessings. This initiative is an extension of our brand essence—to be present at ceremonies and support consumers in pursuit of prosperity. These are instruments of blessings to multiply their efforts and bring  them abundance.” 

    Uche-Onyenacho noted the connection between Seaman’s Schnapps and artisans, saying: “For decades, artisans have incorporated Seaman’s Schnapps into their graduation, praying for success and pouring libations as they embark on their journeys. This initiative ensures they receive spiritual and material support to achieve their dreams.”

    Oyo State Commissioner for Trade and Industry, Mr. Adebisi Adeniyi, handed over the tools to beneficiaries. He hailed Seaman’s Schnapps and its parent company, Grand Oak Limited, for their impactful contribution. “This initiative is an example of how corporate social responsibility should be done. By providing artisans with tools to succeed, Seaman’s Schnapps has demonstrated true leadership and care for people,” he said. 

    Beneficiaries hailed the support. Agboola Malik, an auto mechanic, said, “These tools are a blessing. I can take bigger jobs. This programme has given me a fresh start.”

    Orisadare Damilola, a tailor, added “the sewing machine I received is more than just a tool; it’s an opportunity to grow my business and train others. I’m grateful to Seaman’s Schnapps for this life-changing gesture.”

    The selection process ensured fairness and impact. Beneficiaries were screened, with NATCO sector heads serving as guarantors to verify stories and ensure the tools reach the right hands.

    In an epoch-making occasion, the original prayer drink extolled the new monarch on his ascension to the revered throne and for sustaining the rich tradition, heritage and culture of Awori Kingdom.

  • Seaman’s Schnapps celebrates Lagos at 50

    Nigeria’s leading prayer drink brand, Seaman’s Schnapps, has backed the efforts to revive arts and culture in Nigeria with its support for Isale Eko stage play, which dramatised the rich history and tradition of Lagos.

    The play was staged in commemoration of the 50th year anniversary of the creation of Lagos State.

    The satirical stage play was among events line up for the anniversary and it was held inside the Agip Hall of the Muson Centre in Lagos.

    Isale Eko, co-produced by Joseph Edgar, an investment banker and newspaper columnist, as well as Olisa Adibua, a radio personality, is a satirical/fictional display of 14th century Lagos.

    It is animated and uses song and dance to tell the story of Lagos in the throes of slave trade, power struggle and romance.

    Edgar said Isale Eko leans lightly on historical facts of Lagos State and was told in a unique way with a blend of romance, songs and comedy.

    The co-producer said the project was a success because of the support of brands like Seaman’s Schnapps.

    He said: “When we came about this vision, Seaman’s came to mind because of the way the brand is positioned. What we are doing involves tradition and symbol of authority. I’m hoping this partnership will go beyond Isale Eko because theatre is the closest to our root – as the number one prayer drink the partnership is worth it.”

    The excitement of the drama was complimented by the support from Seaman’s Schnapps, whose history is as steep in the richness African culture and tradition as the city of Lagos.

    Seaman’s Schnapps, produced by Grand Oak Limited, has unveiled a special centenary pack for its premium brand, Schnapps to mark Nigeria’s centenary.

    According to the brand handler, this is anchored on the celebration of the Nigerians as well as her cultures that have co-existed for the past 100 years.

    The Commercial Director of Grand Oak, Aare Fatai Odesile, said at the launch that “the introduction of Seaman’s special centenrary pack becomes inevitable at this point in the chequered history of our dear country as the nation needs providential blessings to come out stronger and more united”.

    Also, General Manager, Marketing, Mr. Brajesh Kumar, said like Nigeria, the brand has pioneered many innovations in the schnapps segment. He enjoined consumers to embrace the centenary pack as a conveyor of their prayers for Nigeria at 100.

    However, Odesile noted that Grand Oak is grateful to Nigeria for being the birthplace of the brand.
