    A payment solutions provider, SeerBit, has sealed a strategic partnership deal with Sabre, a leader in software and technology solutions to ensure seamless payment.

    A technology company that payment gateway that provides products and infrastructure that allow people to collect payments from customers across Africa, SeerBit Technology Limited, has promised to deepen its foothold in Africa through more expansion.

    Its CEO, Omoniyi Kolade, CEO, who spoke with ICT editors in Lagos, said the company was already in 10 countries and working to take services to the South African market.

    He said already, the company processes transactions in more than 20 currencies and had achieved 5million transactions in value.

    He said the company works with small, medium enterprises (SMEs) mid-sized businesses and large enterprises.

    Kolade said the problem with the African payment landscape is that of interoperability, adding however that in Nigeria, the interoperability level is matured.

    He said there are 54 countries on the continent with different currencies, adding that in every country, there must be operational licence, understudy the culture of the people and their nuances.

    According to him, one way to end poverty is to be financially included, adding however that the company has built the infrastructure to address fragmentation in the ecosystem.

    He said the company has built the right payment infrastructure that ensures no customer is disenfranchised.

    “We understand that there are different people interacting in the market and payment is central to them,” he said, adding that collaboration with banks remained very important.

    He said the success of fintech is the opportunity created by the banks, solving problems, arguing that payment is the lifeblood of business.

    He said the company started by creating access to innovation by working with the banks.

    “We decided to work with the banks which already had their own business. Payment is movement of value. We are building a lot of platforms to support payment movement,” he said.
